Beck Has A Tea Party

Back from a grueling trip of canceled interviews, canceled trains, a head cold, a missed airplane connection and a flat tire.   And that was the fun part.   No, not really.  The fun part was a triple visit with the inimitable Glenn Beck and one of the most fascinating television appearances I’ve ever had the chance to make.  Glenn invited a studio-full of people who had attended tea parties to come and discuss with him, live on camera, what they thought the tea parties were about and what the media missed.  I was on hand to observe and comment.

It goes without saying that the media missed just about everything.  How could they not?  They were so busy slavering with rage over this challenge to the policies of Dear Leader that they couldn’t see a thing.  Paul Krugman of the former newspaper the New York Times deemed these concerned citizens “crazy.”  Susan Rosegen of CNN called them “offensive.”  They were “racist” according to Janeane Garofalo on MSNBC.  And so Glenn gave them an hour in which to answer back and they did.  They discussed their concerns for their families and businesses, their understanding of the Constitution, their commitment to the ideals of the founders.  In short, their intelligence, understanding and principle would’ve shamed the Media elites who insulted them, if said elites were capable of shame.

Here’s a portion of this daring show.  My own august contribution comes at about 6:35.

I saw you on Glenn Beck and was like- dude…I read that guys blog!!! I thought you did an awesome job on the show. Glenn Beck has to be hands down one of the best (and most real) news shows. I like him especially now that he is on Foxnews where they let him do basically whatever he wants.

i have a question. why are our taxes here in california going to pay for fighting fires in santa barabra. i live in another part of the state and dont belive our fire fighters should be sent there. i dont believe it is the government’s responisibility to provide what is essentially welfare to the residents of santa barbara. fire fighting should be privatized, if you want it set up your system.
