Jun 26, 2009 - 11:19 am 2. Eric:Wow. Reminds me of the recent report where conservatives, Christians, and people exercising 2nd Amendment rights are stereotyped as right-wing terrorists. Or, of parents who are automatically dubbed as “child abusers,” whenever the government tries to function as the Grand Mediator between them and their kids.
Pardon the digression, but last year in Colorado, an amendment was proposed in order to protect parental rights against countless infuriating abuses, such as the stuff we regularly see coming out of Social “Services.” The amendment was finely crafted, but it was defeated after being dubbed by the Left as a “child abuser’s bill of rights.” Round 2 is now here, since Pete Hoekstra has proposed a federal Parental Rights Amendment — we’ll see if messages like Klavan’s can subvert the name-calling and handle the real issues!
