Al-Qaeda Wants to See GOP ‘Humiliated’

It's no surprise that the terror group is pulling for an Obama victory and a spectacular defeat for McCain.

As I noted here at Pajamas Media, the establishment media was giddy last week over a Washington Post article claiming that a post on an al-Qaeda internet forum had “endorsed” John McCain by arguing that another terrorist strike against the U.S. would secure McCain’s victory and drag the U.S. deeper into conflicts in the Islamic world.

On further inspection, however, the forum posting was not an official statement by al-Qaeda. Instead, it proved little more than a desktop jihadist trying to prepare himself for a possible McCain presidency.

But just days before the elections, Reuters reports that a videotape of a sermon by a high-ranking al-Qaeda official has surfaced, calling for George Bush and “his party” to be humiliated:

“O God, humiliate Bush and his party, O Lord of the Worlds, degrade and defy him,” Abu Yahya al-Libi said at the end of sermon marking the Muslim feast of Eid al-Fitr, in a video posted on the Internet.

ABC News reports that there is still hope that bin Laden himself might speak before the election, but the steady assault on the al-Qaeda leadership in Pakistan based on solid intelligence in recent weeks might make that impossible. In the absence of a bin Laden statement this election cycle, al-Libi’s sermon might be all we hear.

As the New York Times observed earlier this year, al-Libi has skyrocketed through the ranks of al-Qaeda to become its chief theological enforcer and a top recruiter. His jihadist status increased dramatically after his dramatic escape from U.S. custody at Bagram Air Base in 2005. Had he been held at Guantanamo Bay, his escape would have been near impossible. However, the Supreme Court would have granted him full habeas corpus rights and some federal judge might have freed him to roam the U.S. unimpeded.

I just don’t get it. How can Americans not see what is happening right under their very noses? Some of the best folks I know are voting Obama not because of his policies, but because he is not George Bush. Since when do we vote for somebody based on who they aren’t?

And before you say Bush caused all this, think again. The media’s portrayal of Bush sways his approval rating, consumer confidence is set by the media who reports on the economy, our optimism (or lack thereof) about victory against terrorists is recolored to feel like defeat by the media, even what the terrorist leader bin Laden thinks is all reshaped and given to us as the liberal media wishes it to be, and not as it is.

Heaven help us all.

You have got to be kidding me. Where did you get your information for this article. This is horrible analysis. It is better for the Al Qaeda if the G.O.P remains in power and that the war in Iraq continues. The surge that has been deemed so great involved paying Iraqis more to guard their own people then we spent on rebuilding New Orleans (basically we bought thier loyalty because we paid better then Al Qaeda)and Shia Cleric MAS calling a cease fire so that we can get the hell out of the country so he and his Irainian backed army can make a play for the country when we leave. It had little to do with extra troops. Every intellegence estimate says that Al Qaeda has grown stronger (why do you think they have gone back to pre 911 attacks strats.)Commanders in Afghanistan are begging for more troops. So be brainwashed if you choose but it dosnt matter who is president Al Qaeda is back. We made a major mistake in letting Al Qaeda regroup . I pray to god we wake up and realize this before it bites us in the rear. Please feel free to look in to any statements I have made they will check out!!!!

Another example of how clueless the al-Qaeda fanatics are. The concept of peaceful transition of power is beyond them, and they don’t understand that today’s loser in politics is tomorrow’s winner, and next week’s loser. It’s called civilized society, and they have a mosquito’s understanding of it.

I remember the “stuffed-dummy-alien” trick from the original “Star Trek” series, and it was pretty lame then. I’m not going to poop my pants over the obligatory Presidential endorsement from “al-Qaeda.”

The fact that they’re still around to release these tapes should be sufficient humiliation for the soon-to-be-forgotten George Bush.

To all the leftist already whining about it.

Remember folks, like your empty suit obamba, it’s not what he truly says, but what people THINK he is saying.

Same with alquaeda. It’s in the news of some major newspaper in my country and funnily enough, in left-oriented newspapers and it is presented as a reliable news.

Therefore there is will be a good chuck of people believing that Alquaeda wants to see republicans humiliated.

Now who is dumb enough to follow what bin laden says?

Oct 31, 2008 - 2:03 pm 9. dan:

i’m sure al Q & whomever have ways of exploiting either a mccain or an obama presidency, but something tells me they would prefer whoever it is to spend less time trying to kill them and more time trying to talk to them. that seems like a pretty reasonable inference.

unless of course you consider that the “talk to theemmm!” meme is really just a rhetorical weapon in the hands of domestic USA political oppsition; our enemies don’t actually give a goddamn what we say to them.

but it probably bears pointing out that the Pashtun tribal belt straddling the Afghan/FATA Pakistan border consists of 30 million people, who are *thoroughly*…un-Western. maybe we could have done more to prevent al Q from re-grouping, but… I don’t know, don’t you think that gives them something of a home-field advantage?

you might also take into consideration NATO’s failure to deliver many combat troops. just a few thoughts.

History always shows the opposite of what the current press is running. Bush will probably be seen as a weak president who got steamrolled by terrorists and Washington D.C. insiders so that his polices could not be implemented. Policy that should have made him a good? President. Obama if elected will probably continue the war because the president is given intelligence that we averages Joes/Janes don’t get. It will be interesting to see just how tough he will be. Will he carry a big stick to prove himself? The mistake in Afghanistan was allowing the Afgan army to take control in Tora Bora the first year allowing for a truce and many Al Queda escaping possibly even Osama. Political control of our military in action has always been our downfall as a country.

Oct 31, 2008 - 8:10 pm 24. The Objective Historian:

Right Coast Blog,

I hope you’ll endure this post; I was going to write an editorial and try to get it published, but ran out of time. I thought I’d post it around a few places.

Obama’s glaring “Achille’s Heel” for the aspiring objective military historians among us, is his self-described though weakly documented opposition to both the Iraq War Resolution and the Bush Administration’s invasion of Iraq. To iterate, that is Obama’s glaring Achilles’ heel, not his asset as a candidate. Please read on.
Barack Obama would have been willing to permit Saddam Hussein to possess weapons of mass destruction, nuclear and otherwise – exactly as Mr. Hussein proclaimed he had possession – and allowed Mr. Hussein to continue to pursue their development at his relative convenience during the years 2002, 2003, and onward, without deadline of any kind. This despite the overwhelming evidence that Mr. Hussein was a far more imminent threat than Adolf Hilter was in the years previous to World War II. In this way his dedication to appeasement surpasses that of Neville Chamberlain. Mr. Chamberlain had the excuse that he did not have himself from which to learn from his mistakes. Mr. Obama does have Mr. Chamberlain’s lesson but, unlike Mr. McCain, decided to ignore it in 2002 and 2003. This makes him beyond merely incompetent to be commander-in-chief, but utterly self-destructive. Those who disagree with this would deceive you and, ignorantly, patriotically, and/or otherwise … further irrelevantly, put this nation at dire risk.
Mr. Obama has sheepishly mumbled that he did not think the 2002-2003 WMD intelligence was accurate. I would surmise that is an outright lie, if not a despicable deception, and, in any case, absurd; but I do not know his mind exactly. It could be that Mr. Obama had two of his Illinois State Senate legislative assistants look into the Iraq-WMD issue independently and that he elected to credit their contrary conclusions to both the claims of Saddam Hussein and the conclusions of the NSA, CIA, DIA, and international intelligence community consensus. Or perhaps he intuited that Hussein was lying about possessing WMD and that the international intelligence community was absolutely wrong in which case I am amazed by his “powers of intuition” and wonder if we can expect him to intuit his national security intelligence information should he win election in 2008. This is something we ought to know before we put our security in the hands of Mr. Obama qua psychic. In any case, I challenge Mr. Obama or anyone to prove much less persuade effectively that the basis of Mr. Obama’s objection in 2002 or 2003 was the suspect nature of the WMD intelligence rather than his willingness to accept an effectively WMD-armed Saddam Hussein. As evidence otherwise, one would think he would have announced that to warn his fellow countrymen they were relying on incorrect information if he thought that was the case; after all, he would not have wanted Mr. Bush to “mislead” the United States, so it would seem. [Moreover only an imbecile or a quasi-pacifist would have doubted the 2002-2003 raw WMD intelligence enough to risk U.S. security based on those doubts.] But, in fact, Mr. Obama completely believed at the time that Hussein had WMD and still thought the invasion was a mistake, deciding to permit Mr. Hussein more and more time to develop WMD and the delivery systems, technological and paramilitary, to strike at the United States. [In fact, the fear in 2003 was that he would use the WMD he claimed to have on invading US troops. In this way the invasion though based on false intelligence at least spared our troops having to invade Iraq subsequently and face WMD.] This after Hussein was able to easily corrupt and thwart both U.N. inspections and sanctions at the expense of the security of the United States and the welfare of his people for 11-12 years (and, typically, the integrity of the U.N.). He must have studied his fellow fascist (the Baathist Party modeled on the Nazi Party) carefully in his dealings with the League of Nations and the United States in the 1930s.
This is no time for hyper-appeasement and Barack Obama. I’m voting for John McCain in November.

Oct 31, 2008 - 9:21 pm 28. J. Maccarone:

While Al Qaeda wants to see McCain humiliated on election day much like Nazi Germany was laughing in their
weiner schnitzel when Japan informed them of their plans to launch a surprise attack at Pearl Harbor, I can understand where both are coming from.

Both Al Qaeda and Nazi Germany were out to spread their sphere of influence. And both in their time would be greatly helped by a weakened United States.

25% of the U.S. fleet was destroyed at Pearl Harbor.

By coinsidence, Barack Obama wants to cut U.S. military spending by 25% the first year, and in incrementals after that. Barack also has pledged not to use space for weapons purposes, something which China and Russia are working round the clock to do, plus Obama promises no further reseach or development of new nuclear weapons. So, if elected, by the end of Barack’s first term, he will have given the Chinese and Russians time to catch up to the United States in terms of hi-tech weaponry. Parenthetically, I’m sure he’ll do his best to keep our state secrets. Just like I’m sure Russia and China aren’t trying to steal them.

From Bill Ayers and Rachid Khalidi to Jeramy Wright Fr. Falger and Lewis Farrachan, Barach’s decades of relationships (whose house are we having dinner at tonight?) demonstrates a concerning pattern of people Barack Obama has always felt most comfortable with. They’re sworn enemies of the United States. They don’t like us. They fell down laughing when the Twin Towers collasped.

One conclusion is inescapable. Barack shares many of their views about the United States:

That this country is patently unfair, the cause of the world’s problems largely because of its arrogant foreign policy, from Jackson’s defeat of the French, to our defeat of Mexico (after Santa Anna slaughted and burned all bodies of the defenders of the Alamo,) to the subjagation of Japan and Germany, to the treatment of blacks, America is at fault.

It’s a belief that hangs in the air like a stink bomb during all their dinner parties. That the U.S. stinks and needs to be taught a lesson is the center piece of their smorgasbord of anti-American hate speech.

To say that, along with their bomb thrower friends beliefs, it’s also the belief of Barack and Michelle certainly isn’t much of a stretch. Barack is your modern day example of electing to put the fox in charge of the chicken coop. Look, how many people who bombed the Pentagon do you regularly have dinner with?

The first amendment deals with freedom of speech. Here’s how Obama deals with the first amendment.

If you say something Obama doesn’t like, you’ll be investigated illegally by governmental computers (a la joe the plumber in Ohio), you’ll be kicked off Barack’s airplane so Jet, and Essence people can take your seats.
You’ll be ridiculed a la Sarah Palin; Barack people maliciously spread the word that Sarah was the father of Sarah’s daughter’s baby. If you’re a woman, they’ll say you can’t have a top governmental job because a woman’s kids take up too much time. You’ll be taken off the radio in the guise of a “Fairness Doctrine”.

If you believe in women’s rights, watch out. Barack’s Islam and PLO buddies all are die in the wool, “women’s rights end where husband and fathers rights begin.”

Then there’s soldier’s rights. You have a right to be wounded, but you don’t have the right to expect a Presidential candidate to visit you.

When Obama could visit wounded troops in Germany, he instead went to the gym to work out.

And as for Pennsylvanians’ rights? Well, it seems as if Barack feels he has an obligation to ridicule.

When Barack thought no one was listening, he told San Francisco billionaires that Pennsylvanians were racist, red necked hicks who cling to their guns and religion. Obviously, Pennsylvanians don’t have a right to be spoken about by the Democratatic candidate with dignity and respect.

And American soldiers have no right to win a war.

When the U.S. was about turn the tide in the war in Iraq, Barack said “the surge”, in his military judgment, wouldn’t work, and then Barack refused to admit he was wrong. When Barack sat for twenty years listening to Rev. Wright, his self admitted religious mentor, spew hate and racism and sexism toward women and whites and the United States, Barack, unbelievably said he never heard Wright say any of those things.

Well, while I still have it, I’m using my right of free speech to shoot a little pith Barack’s way.

Barack Obama is a con man, a snake oil salesman, a far- as-the-eye-can-see extreme left wing liberal. He makes Ted Kennedy look conservative.

If allowed, Barack Obama, with Ayers, Dorne, Wright, Flager and Farrachan riding shotgun, will drive this country into the biggest economic ditch you ever saw. He’ll raise all kinds of taxes sky high, maybe not in year one, but Barack never talks about year two, three or four. And the mainstream press never asks him about it. Barack, how about a time frame for your tax plan?

If the brown eyed handome man wins, I don’t know how much freedom you can expect to keep.

As happened yesterday, when he found out the Wash. Times, NY Post and Dallas News endorsed McCain for President, Barack kicked their reporters off his plane; evidentally, contrary opinion has no rights when they do Barack a wrong.

I’m most concerned that economically will do America wrong by taxing us into a real depression. What’ll make people really depressed is that, by 2012, we may not have enough money for the trip to the polls.

Post Script:
Lately, I’ve been heavily criticized on campus and even here on Pajamas Media for saying what I believe. I’m almost left speechless at some of the veiled threats and venom I receive. Please, if you don’t like my point of view, don’t read it. Maybe you’re smarter than I am. I don’t know. Go vote for Barack if you want to. Put your own thoughts in writing. I just don’t like to hear when people say, from classmates to teachers to people on PJM, that I need to be silenced. Silence is for the library or a putting green, but not for people whose views differ from yours. I think Barack Obama is a clear and present danger to the United States, its people, its economy and our freedoms. Maybe I’m wrong.

But I don’t think so.

Bill Ayers, the unrepentent terrorist, Obama’s buddy, dedicated his book “Prairie Fire” to the assassin of Robert Kennedy, Sirhan Sirhan. Wow, I don’t know if Obama just has such bad judgment in choosing his friends and associates, or if he just naturally has a talent for attracting low life radicals, but either way, Obama isn’t the type of person we need in the White House. Now Obama said it is selfish for us to want to keep more of our own hard earned money. He should tell that to Joe Biden. Biden’s charitable contributions are pathetic considering his income. Al-Qaeda is the name of a database. “In the mid-1980s, Al Qaida was a database located in computer and dedicated to the communications of the Islamic Conference’s secretariat.”

“I first heard about Al-Qaida while I was attending the Command and Staff course in Jordan. I was a French officer at that time and the French Armed Forces had close contacts and cooperation with Jordan . . .

“Two of my Jordanian colleagues were experts in computers. They were air defense officers. Using computer science slang, they introduced a series of jokes about students’ punishment.

“For example, when one of us was late at the bus stop to leave the Staff College, the two officers used to tell us: ‘You’ll be noted in ‘Q eidat il-Maaloomaat’ which meant ‘You’ll be logged in the information database.’ Meaning ‘You will receive a warning . . .’ If the case was more severe, they would used to talk about ‘Q eidat i-Taaleemaat.’ Meaning ‘the decision database.’ It meant ‘you will be punished.’ For the worst cases they used to speak of logging in ‘Al Qaida.’

“The truth is, there is no Islamic army or terrorist group called Al Qaida. And any informed intelligence officer knows this. But there is a propaganda campaign to make the public believe in the presence of an identified entity representing the ‘devil’ only in order to drive the ‘TV watcher’ to accept a unified international leadership for a war against terrorism. The country behind this propaganda is the US and the lobbyists for the US war on terrorism are only interested in making money.”
