There are only two means of acquiring knowledge: reason and mysticism.

This is one reason why permitting Ahmadinejad to speak at Columbia was wrong – there is nothing to learn from mystics, and in his case, continual appeasement of a thug who shouts “death to America” (or Israel) leads to suicide.

Communism and Islam are the two most mystical, and thereby life-threatening, movements ever. Reason is the only means to flourishing. Mysticism, like Islam, is the means to primeval barbarism and death. As the father of logic, Aristotle, said: “Either-or.” Let each of us continue choosing reason as is so often the case at this website.
