An Olympic-Sized Fiasco

Why did Obama think he should risk presidential and national capital in such ambiguous circumstances? Ego? Sloppy prep work? Payback to pals? Hubris? (Also read Richard Fernandez: The Ego Has Landed.)

This president has come in from the largely sheltered world of academia and government service. In those worlds, words trump action. And the better you are at manipulating words, the more successful you are perceived to be. The real world isn’t like that. And most nations rely on action over words to win the day. While Obama and his European counterparts waste time at a table in Egypt talking their game, in Syria or Lebanon or Pakistan or Turkey an Islmist cell is preparing to blow away any and all Americans. They don’t consider the final cost, because they believe their reward is in heaven. You cannot fight such ideologies with treaties and promises. First of all, the will simply ignore treaties like Saddam did, like Arafat did, like the various Islamic states are doing right now. Secondly, the narrow dogma of the most rigid form of Islam says that a devout Muslim can ignore promises made to infidels. So either Obama is a Muslim and they hold to their treaties or he is not and they break them. Either way, this is just another losing hand for the Apologist in Chief. The IOC was just a warm up for what is to come. Maybe instead of FDR, Obama should start channeling the other Roosevelt and start talking softly while carrying a big stick.

Who knows if Obama blew it or not. If you just won a vacation contest and you were told to choose between going to Rio or Chicago, what´s to think ?
A nice sunny beach that´s warm all year long on the South Atlantic or some
beach on ice cold Lake Michigan ? Come now. The president should have thought of this before flying to Copenhagen.

Obama sadly, is our first BLACK by one half, president. I fully agree we needed a ‘Black’ President, but not a community organizer want to be president. It is painfully obvious to anyone with common sense that this man, is not PRESIDENTIAL. He and his sacrafice, agenda wife are amateurs they do not know what the hell they are doing and all of America is suffering. My dream is to have a Conservative person, be it black, white, purple or yes, even green, from MARS; if that is how far away we have to go to fine an entity with balls, that will give this great country of ours the respect it demands, from the farmworkers to the modern frameworkers of our changing constitution. When you dismiss americans as ‘Dufus’, or flyover country, eventully what ever affiliation you are conected with is doomed! I still believe in the America that I grew up in. Where you were not ‘pals’ with your parents, you honered them and respected them. They never tried to lower themselves to YOUR LEVEL, because they were better than you at your stage of life and everyone knew it. Not in todays PC crap…no wonder we are in such a stage of disruption and confusion. Listen to the grandparents…you better hurry not many left now.
