CAIR Leader Tied to Nazi-Style Islamist Mosque
Another day, another CAIR official linked to extremism.
This past July, a video was posted to YouTube produced by the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Michigan), featuring the group’s legal advisor and project coordinator, Melanie Elturk. On the video, Elturk cautions those who are “solicited by extremists” to “report suspicious activity.” However, what she doesn’t mention are the extremist institutions that she is involved with herself.
Melanie Elturk has been with CAIR-Michigan since January of this year. Even though she is somewhat new to the organization, she holds a prominent position within it, listed on the CAIR-Michigan website as one of its top three leaders.
To attest to her leadership in the group, Elturk has been featured as the spokesperson for various CAIR-Michigan videos. One of these videos asks and attempts to answer the question, “What should you do if you are approached by individuals soliciting politically extreme statements?” Of course, who is CAIR to be lecturing anyone on extremism, when CAIR itself is an extremist organization?
As recent as November of last year, CAIR was named a co-conspirator for a Hamas financing trial, where all of the defendants were found guilty on all charges. The defendants included leaders of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), a Hamas financing network. CAIR had been created as a part of the same terrorist umbrella group as HLF, the American Palestine Committee, headed by the then-global leader of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. It was this association that led the FBI to recently cut ties with CAIR.
This must have not mattered much to Ms. Elturk, as she took her position with CAIR maybe two months following the trial. Either that or it drove her to CAIR. Elturk had already been involved with an extremist group prior to CAIR — the Islamic Organization of North America (IONA) — a radical mosque located in Warren, Michigan.
IONA is the American arm of Tanzeem-e-Islami (TI), a Nazi-style Islamist movement located in Pakistan, whose website preaches violence and hatred towards non-Muslims. The movement was founded by Israr Ahmad, a religious fanatic who, according to IONA’s website, had broken away from the Muslim Brotherhood affiliate Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in 1957 because of the group’s “involvement in the electoral politics.”
A couple of Ahmad’s favorite targets are Jews and Christians, whom he chillingly describes as “enemies of Islam.”
In his anti-Semitic tome entitled Lessons from the Past, which was first published in 1997 and is still widely distributed by the Tanzeem, Ahmad talks of a future where Jews will be exterminated and Islam will rule the world. He writes, “According to the predictions of the Qur’an and Hadith, the process of Muslim re-awakening and revitalization is going to continue, culminating … in the establishment of the Islamic System of Social Justice over the entire globe. On the other hand, the revival among the Jews is going to be evanescent and short-lived, and their continuing decline, in due course of time, will overshadow their apparent ‘rise,’ ultimately leading to their final and total extermination. Moreover, the beginning of the domination of lslam and the annihilation of the Jews will be temporally coincidental.”

Sep 28, 2009 - 4:13 am 2. genghis:How can this be? How is it possible that a representative of the world’s greatest peaceful religion can be associated with, gasp, Nazis? Yes, yes, I know, during WWII the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood visited with Adolph and aligned himself with the Nais. But, that was different, wasn’t it? Those were probably the legendary ‘good Nazis’. Or, as is more likely, the explanation relates to the fable of the frog and the scorpion. You remember; the scorpion hops a ride across a river on the back of a frog after promising not to stin the frog in transit, then stings him halfwway across, and they both drown. Why? It’s just there nature.

IKhwanweb is the Muslim Brotherhood”s only official English web site. The Main office is located in London, although Ikhwanweb has correspondents in most countries. Our staff is exclusively made of volunteers and stretched over the five continents.
The Muslim Brotherhood opinions and views can be found under the sections of MB statements and MB opinions, in addition to the Editorial Message.
Items posted under “other views” are usually different from these of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Ikhwanweb does not censor any articles or comments but has the right only to remove any inappropriate words that defy public taste
Ikhwanweb is not a news website, although we report news that matter to the Muslim Brotherhood”s cause. Our main misson is to present the Muslim Brotherhood vision right from the source and rebut misonceptions about the movement in western societies. We value debate on the issues and we welcome constructive criticism.

1. Pragmatist: Are all cut from the same cloth.
No, the funniest (or is that saddest?) part of it is the Liberals actually think radical Muslims are their allies, or maybe they just think they’ll be most powerful when the betrayal occurs…
Sep 28, 2009 - 7:17 am 9. Tom Dundee:I’ll continue where Genghis left off. First all he wrote is true, but he stopped too soon.
At war’s end when the Nazi war criminals were escaping, the lucky ones went to North Africa. The not so lucky had to go to South America.
The ones that escaped to North Africa, taught the Moslem Arabs German efficiency & how to apply to the hate taught by Islam. While they had always been killers, they now added a level of efficiency & became killng machines.
Sep 28, 2009 - 7:27 am 10. Tom Dundee:Now & Then.
Everyone was part of the Hitler Youth. If you weren’t you were 6 feet under.
Had he been any older & been a priest he would have joined most of the other priests at Dachau & other camps.
Sep 28, 2009 - 7:31 am 11. Mahdi-Shahids:Speaking with great authority on these matters.
Followers of the Prophet, memebers of the
‘religion of peace & tolerance’ really don’t care where we are killing libs or conservatives, just so they are infidels.
Actually libs are easier to kill & the ones necessary to kill first since they won’t support their own & can’t be trusted.
Sep 28, 2009 - 7:35 am 12. tanstaafl:Ms. Elturk’s own purity of intention, it seems, would be to enlist in organizations which advocate hatred and violence. To her, this must not be a “forbidden action.”
I thought Melanie, according to Ahmad, was supposed to be confined to home, her only job in life to cook, raise kids, and smooth the path of her enlightened husband in bringing about the worldwide ummah and the domination of shari’a in every corner of the Earth.
I wish these haters and pontificators would get this stuff straight.
As for CAIR, when they replaced their head guy a few years back, I heard the new guy interviewed where he refused to acknowledge that Hamas & Hezbollah were, in fact, terrorist organizations.
(gosh, could that be that a major prong of CAIR’s agenda is supporting those organizations, financially, through phony charitable giving, and in any other means possible ?)
ColoUr me sick of any and all individuals who have to live with such venom central to their souls.
Sep 28, 2009 - 7:50 am 13. Leatherneck:In the History books I read in school, America killed it’s enemys.
Sep 28, 2009 - 1:52 pm 14. ginnie:You see I believe that all of the suicide bombers, and beheaders, and stoners, and so on are just crying out for love. And I do believe that we should accomodate all of those sons and daughters of Allah who seek to martyr themselves in the name of their great peaceful religion by expediting their trip to the next world. That would be an act of loving generosity. And a little kindness goes a long way.
Sep 28, 2009 - 2:51 pm 15. ella:Ikwan is connected to CAIR.
Sep 28, 2009 - 4:30 pm 16. Ole Sarge:Articles on ikwan web-site in English have often quite different meaning from articles on ikwan web-site in arabic on the same topic.
So tell me, Omar, why should pajama media readers look at your English site when they could look at ikwan arabic site [after all there is google translate stuff for some of us, who do not know the language of Quran)?
Omar,
You have got to be s–ting me, you want people to fall for the, “We are really nice murderous muslims”, excuse me?
Sep 28, 2009 - 5:17 pm 17. tanstaafl:Our main misson is to present the Muslim Brotherhood vision right from the source and rebut misonceptions about the movement in western societies.
Omar, #5, it’s pretty hard to mis-understand these words, the agenda for North America articulated for Ikhwani activists in 1991.
4- Understanding the role of the Muslim Brother in North America:
The process of settlement is a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” with all the word means. The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their
hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious
over all other religions. Without this level of understanding, we are not up to this challenge and
have not prepared ourselves for Jihad yet. It is a Muslim’s destiny to perform Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes, and there is no escape from that destiny except for those who chose to slack. But, would the slackers and the Mujahedeen be
equal.
The English starts about page 15, is the Arabic simply mis-translated, Omar ?
Sep 28, 2009 - 7:51 pm 18. Leatherneck:#5 Omar,
Your the enemy. Save your lies. I’ll bet a pay check no American believes them anymore. Tell the Muslim Brotherhood, I look for them every Marine Corp day.
ROPMA!
Sep 28, 2009 - 8:08 pm 19. steve:A Muslim extremist?
You mean someone like Mohammad. That’s the guy that cut people’s heads off, raped men and women, had sex slaves, had sex with a 9 year old, murdered people, blinded people, maimed people etc. you get the idea.
He’s the founder of this wonderful ideology. So please tell me what it means to be a Muslim extremist?
Sean Hannity still can’t figure it out. Obama loves him.
#6 & #7 are despicable posts.
Sep 28, 2009 - 8:28 pm 20. Gail Tenzer:What really gets me is that such hateful thoughts can be expressed, including exterminating Jews and there is no public outcry and no accountability extracted! Where are all the legislators to decry anyone in this country from spewing such hatred against a people — such racism — speech which evokes terror in all Jews that someone will act such acts out — as occurred in the Holocaust Museum in D.C. last summer?
Oct 3, 2009 - 1:13 pm 21. george lopez:Why is CAIR allowed to continue existing in the U.S. and as a non-profit? And, where is Obama to tell them that if you can’t make negative remarks or criticism of Islam, you can’t of Christians or Jews either? I don’t understand why everyone is standing by and allowing this bias to prevail!
i didnt undwerstand any of it X)
