Can Obama Survive the Annenberg Cover-up?

If voters find out Obama was lying about his past, will it kill his chances in November?

Throughout the summer months, many voters supporting John McCain have been frustrated by his failure to respond forcefully to Obama’s charges against him. I felt his failure to swat about at each charge was because he was an old fighter pilot, taught to hold his fire and stay concealed as long as possible. If circumstances permitted, he would not budge until his opponent had made a potentially fatal move from which it was going to be exceedingly hard to extricate himself. Whether my assessment was right or not, it appears that the moment to strike has arrived, and like the old fighter pilot descending from the cloud cover, McCain has taken full advantage of Obama’s errors to place him in a position from which I can see no way out for him.

I’m talking about Obama’s role in the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), and his ill-conceived ad attacking McCain’s associations which opened the door for McCain to bring to public view something Obama has — with clear media connivance — lied about and tried to conceal: His close association with William Ayers in a program he botched.

The last thing Obama should want made public are his dubious associates. The public has had some exposure to his long time spiritual adviser, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, many have heard of the convicted Chicago fixer Tony Rezko, and some have just a bit of knowledge about William Ayers. As McCain said Wednesday: “[I]f Barack Obama wants to have a discussion about truly questionable associations, let’s start with his relationship with the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, at whose home Obama’s political career was reportedly launched . Mr. Ayers was a leader of the Weather Underground, a terrorist group responsible for countless bombings against targets including the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon and numerous police stations, courthouses and banks. In recent years Mr. Ayers has stated, ‘I don’t regret setting bombs. … I feel we didn’t do enough.’”

The background of this matter has been hashed out for some months online at Slate, The American Thinker, Just One Minute and Global Labor. National Review Online joined in more recently. But if you missed the story or were unable to keep up with it, it began when Obama lied about the extent of his relationship with Ayers and the press gave him a pass. Obama gave varying accounts of this relationship:

“…a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received an official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from (sic) on a regular basis.”

“Now, Mr. Ayres is a 60 plus year old individual who lives in my neighborhood, who did something I deplore 40 years ago when I was six or seven years old. By the time I met him, he was a professor of education at the University of Illinois.”

So, the story was that Ayers was an old professor in Mr. Obama’s neighborhood who just happened to host a fundraiser for him in 1995 which launched his political career.

“This story is going to kill Obama at the polls.”

Let’s hope and pray that this is so. Obama is far beyond your average Democrat socialist, he is an anti-American criminal of the first degree. In its total failure to unmask this charlatan, is the mainstream media mesmerized, indoctrinated, foolish, complicit or all the above?

Aug 24, 2008 - 7:20 am 2. Rubicon:

This story, which I too feel will hurt Obama with many who want our education system to greatly improve, and especially since its performance over the past twenty years has been nothing more than abysmal, will never receive the coverage by the media it deserves to do it any real credit.
Few Americans realize the Bill Ayers that has been mentioned in the media, is “the” Bill Ayers who was involved in activities many classify as, sedition. While Vietnam was unpopular because the media pounded that perspective into the nations consciousness every day for years, the stateside activities of many opposed to the war, angered Americans who felt these opposition activities were doing more harm to us than even the enemy on the field.
Just how despicable these opposition groups were has never fully been revealed. Today, based on the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), & other historic information, Americans could be schooled in the extent of those activities and how dangerous the perpetrators were.
I predict that no matter how much information is revealed, the old establishment mainstream media will stall, gloss over, minimize, and trivialize every aspect while also evasively avoiding specific identification of those involved. Each individual will be “‘allegedly’ associated” with activities, while those associations will be portrayed as lose or distant & as yet unproven, so the least amount of mud will stick to anyone, and especially their Messiah, Obama!
The “Media Research Center” has just released a study on Obama, McCain, and stories about them and conservatives & liberals. That study, which was exhaustive, clearly shows that the media is not only biased in its reporting, it appears to me that the media have actually become partisan organized arms of the Democrat party.
Fox News will try to expose some of this, but even they will probably temper much of it. The Internet will make a valiant effort to expose each & every nasty detail, but how effectively the Internet can reach enough Americans will only be realized long after the elections.
At this point, all we can do is remain vigilant looking for every tidbit, morsel, and crumb that can be found. Once discovered we can try to communicate this to as many as possible with hope they too will pass the information along for others to read about.
Its up to “we the people” at this point to make sure America learns Obama’s allies and confidants, are actual Marxists and communists whose agenda is nothing less than the total destruction of this nation & the enslavement of the people into the best of the socialist traditions of oppression, poverty, and degradation.
Lets do our part patriots!

Obama lying about his past?

Like, this is not already proven?

The only question is how much he has been lying and about what.

A classic is claiming he didn’t understand what Wright was saying, while the woman he is married to clearly does. Having been married, I can guarentee this is inaccurate, to say the least and be polite.

Aug 24, 2008 - 8:20 am 4. Insufficiently Sensitive:

The public might become concerned about Obama’s fluffy job with the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and his playing mega-Santa Claus to ‘educational improvement’ groups – if the MSM were to make any real effort to learn the details and present them to the public.

But read the goals and mission statements in the CAC incorporation – they say nothing specific at all, being vast noxious clouds of meaningless do-gooder statements. It’s the details we need of the organizations (and their leaders) supported or created by those lavish millions (over 110 of ‘em) , and some idea of what those organizations did beyond attempting to hijack Chicago education from its elected school boards. They did NOT improve performance of Chicago students. So, what else did they do?

I can’t help wondering if those millions didn’t do, for Ayers and Obama and their leftie friends, what the millions poured by the Soviet Union into the USA up into the 1980s did for the cause of Communism – that is, create furtive organizations with lavish public relations budgets to bollix, confuse and counteract the domestic democratic process in the US.

Judging by the kneejerk anti-Americanisms that pop up all too frequently in the MSM, it’s beyond belief that they’d dig very far into the doings of the CAC to determine what skulduggery was committed under its endless funding, under the direction of the Obama who prefers glittering generalities to any specific declaration of policies. Just like the CAC incorporation papers.

Oh, yeah, he’s FOR good and AGAINST evil. Thank God, I’d forgotten.

“…because he was an old fighter pilot…”

A distinction the author should know is that McCain was not a fighter pilot, he was an attack (bomber) pilot. He was my CO for a period of time, and my squadron (VA-46) that I was in was the same one he was in when he was on the USS Forrestal…

To people who pay attention to these things, it is not an insignificant error…:)

As Richard Nixon once famously said about Alger Hiss: “If the American people understood the real character of Alger Hiss, they would boil him in oil.”

“We can’t have education without revolution. We have tried peace education for 1,900 years and it has failed. Let us try revolution and see what it will do now.”

Some of you may know who uttered these words in the months that led up to the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917. Those who don’t, take a guess. Lenin, you say? Trotsky? Stalin? Keep reading…

The above sentiment is important because it has become the fundamental tenet of curriculum “reform” in American Ed. schools. It’s the notion at the heart of constructivist ed. philosophy: the ‘outcome based’ education of John Dewey, where today “educators” have become “guides on the side” who run a daycare center where “learners” construct their own truths and their own knowledge in chaotic group-grope activities, where a few do all the work and the rest simply coast, but of course everyone – collectively – gets the credit.

And of course the credit is not based on actual grades – that might create self-esteem issues for the “learners” (God forbid they should instead develop a sense of individuality, independence and self-respect). And of course the credit can’t be based on testing because multiculturalism dictates that no test can be “fair” for all – especially if it’s written in English. And of course the “work” all revolves around “social justice”, “environmental sustainability”, “diversity”, “tolerance”, multiculturalism, and a critical, one-sided focus on the very worst of human history. Math? Science? Philosophy? The rest of History? Sorry… that’s an exercise left for the student. Except one can’t use the term “student” any more because the notion of “Teacher/Student” implies an actual responsibility for, you know… teaching. Instead, we have:

“Education is not preparation for life, but rather education is life itself, an active process in which everyone— students and teachers– participates as co-learners.”

Wonder why Johnny Can’t Read today? This is why. Because American Education, at its heart, has been co-opted by la Revolucion (Bolivariana!), and transmuted into a system only someone like the cynical, America-loathing Michelle Obama could have designed.

And just so. Because the “no education without revolution” sentiment was at the heart of the failed CAC effort. How do we know? Simple. Barack Obama’s close working associate, philosophical comrade and the motive force behind the CAC fiasco – Bill Ayers – quoted this line as recently as 2006 in a speech he and his son delivered to a forum for educational “reform” in Venezuela. Ayers began this speech with the following:

“President Hugo Chavez, Vice-President Vicente Rangel, Ministers Moncada and Isturiz, invited guests, comrades.”

“Comrades”. No shit.

Let’s be clear: people like Ayers are not “the fringe” of American Education reform – he and those who think like him are considered mainstream:

…I’ll be very frank, [Ayers] has been in the forefront of a lot of education issues and helping us in public schools and things like that.”Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley

If you read Ayers’ screed, you will readily see where Ayers has taken the educational “reform” programs he’s pursued. This is a person who is still parroting the sentiment above, despite its blatant lack of validity. Why? Because this sentiment confirms Ayers’ idolatry of Marxism AND carries the weight of its author’s other outstanding achievements.

That author was Helen Keller. And she was dead wrong.

Keller’s premise – even then – was demonstrably false. Her irrational, reckless conclusion – “Let us try [Marxist] revolution and see what it will do…” – can be forgiven somewhat because of her naivete: she did not have the benefit of the historical record we enjoy today, almost 100 years (and 150,000,000 lost lives) later. That record, which people like Hugo Chavez, Bill Ayers – and Barack Obama – insist upon ignoring, informs us in every way necessary that Marxism has failed, utterly, in every venue where it’s ever been applied – with attendant violence, cultural devastation and loss of life in the millions.

By rights, what should really come out of this fiasco – aside from Obama’s ignominious defeat in November – is a laser focus on this issue.

So… how will the media spin this when they’re forced – as they were with the Edwards scandal – to finally cover it?

Will they turn on Obama the way they initially did on Edwards, pretending to be the public equivalent of ‘betrayed spouse’ so that they can deflect attention away from this much larger and much more important issue?

Will they try to make Ayers out to be a ‘true American hero’ who has worked ‘diligently’ to improve education for decades. And if so, one wonders how well his “Viva Presidente Chavez! Viva La Revolucion Bolivariana!” will play in Peoria (apparently it goes down just fine in Chi-town).

Will they try to portray Ayers as a ‘domestic insurgent’, and his WU activities as a fight against “the same kind of Needless War™ Bush started in Iraq (single-handedly, of course), and which McCain naturally wants to continue”?

Will they try to spin this as just part of Obama’s ‘experience-building’ – even though it’s the ONLY time Teh One has ever held an executive leadership position, and even though the CAC program only finished (exactly) 5 years ago?

Will they double down and start quoting Helen Keller’s irrational embrace of Communism?

It’s not obvious to the general public, but the party faithful know they could be on the ropes with this one. So anything’s possible.

Logically, this story (like many others) should kill off his candidacy, but it won’t. Conservatives seriously underestimate the damage Bush has done to their cause and their credibility. If you can’t catch him with a “dead girl or a live boy” as they say, it ain’t going to do the trick.

Aug 24, 2008 - 11:23 am 21. RightwingCowboy:

What I’d like to know is why haven’t the “right” blogs and conservative talk shows glammed onto the lawsuit filed in the federal courts of eastern Pennsylvania against Obama accusing his campaign to offering two forged birth certificates saying he was born on US soil. From what I have been able to piece together he was born in Kenya to an 18 year old mother which barred him from being registered as an American citizen later in Hawaii. Then he was adopted by his Indonesian step-father, further negating American citizenship.
What? Are we going on intentions here too, instead of the laws of the United States?

Aug 24, 2008 - 11:35 am 22. JotheExDem:

Ayers is probably busy destroying records, re-writing assessments, distorting the project results, removing Obama’s name from meeting attendance lists, removing the names of felons from fund recipient lists and confusing the record of abject failure of the project. When his alterations are complete, they will release the files.

- Conservatives seriously underestimate the damage Bush has done to their cause and their credibility.

Oh please.

The damage you’re referring to was done almost solely through the lies, misdirection, misfeasance, malfeasance, misrepresentation, fauxtography and outright treason committed by the AP/CNN/Reuters/NYT media hierarchy.

Here’s the fantasy the media has projected 24/7, for the past eight years:

- We’re in the middle of The Second Great Depression where wealthy people pay no taxes and half the country is out of work.

- We’re wrongly allied with “aggressors” like Israel because she defends herself with “disproportionate” force; we’re wrongly attacking Islamist ‘insurgents’ who indiscriminately blow up their neighbors and wrongly criticizing countries like Russia for “reclaiming” their rightful territories.

- Blacks suffered and died needlessly in New Orleans because Bush didn’t keep the levies from overtopping and then delayed assistance on purpose.

- We’ve just lost World War IV – a Needless War™ Bush single-handedly started with lies about WMDs – which resulted in millions of civilian casualties and the “outing” of a covert CIA operative whose husband never lied about what he didn’t find in Africa.

The reality of EVERY aspect this narrative, and so much more, is exactly the opposite of the media’s ongoing fantasy – a fantasy with which they’ve been relentlessly beating the public ever since Al Gore failed to carry his own home state in the 2000 Election.

From the standpoint of actual leadership, Bush’s administration has been an abysmal. But he is not the one who has damaged conservative credibility.

http://www.larouchepub.com/other/2002/2932mccain.html

On Oct. 15, 1982, President Ronald Reagan signed into law the Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act, otherwise known as “Garn-St Germain,” after the principal Congressional sponsors. As a direct result of this disastrous deregulation legislation, within the span of a decade, a small tightly organized network of financial pirates—many with close ties to the Meyer Lansky National Crime Syndicate—would pull off the biggest heist in American history. By the early 1990s, the U.S. savings and loan industry (S&Ls)—once the backbone of the home mortgage industry and the preferred safe depository of household savings—was wiped out. Many of America’s oldest industrial corporations were looted and left for dead, through hostile takeovers, engineered by junk bond financing. To untangle the S&L carnage, the Federal government created the Reconstruction Trust Corporation (RTC) and eventually shelled out $200-250 billion in taxpayers’ money, to avert an even deeper collapse of the U.S. real estate and banking sectors.

A handful of the crooks—including Ivan Boesky, Michael Milken, and Charles Keating—were imprisoned for their roles in the looting scheme. Briefly, a few members of Congress were spotlighted and slapped on the wrists for their own profiteering and coverup efforts. But the full extent of this criminal looting of America was barely known, and today is largely forgotten. The biggest political beneficiary of the public’s amnesia is John McCain. With the exception of Sen. Joseph Lieberman’s (D-Conn.) own ties to hedge fund bandit Michael Steinhardt, no American politician is as beholden to organized crime as the senior Senator from Arizona and would-be 2004 “Bull Moose” spoiler candidate for the Presidency.

On second thought, though, I suppose racism does have something to do with this story. Poor minority kids in Chicago are stuck in failing schools and received no substantial help from the Annenberg Challenge at all. Obama, Ayers, and Co. frittered away $50 million and thanks to creative recordkeeping (that’s the Chicago Way!) we’ll never know what happened to it.

But that’s the Left – they primp and preen about their moral superiority while in the real world, they accomplish nothing of value for the people they pretend to care about so deeply.

Sorry , but your interpretation of more inclusive and more humane is analogous with the Soviet gulags , Nazi concentration camps , Khmer Rouge’s Killing Fields and Mao’s Cultural Revolution . For your info , other racial groups did the same thing like the white people did in terms of genocide . Ever heard of Tamerlane , how about Genghis Khan , how about Sultan Mehmed . Ever heard of the catastrophic Islamic invasions of India where millions of Hindus ,Buddhist and animists died . Contemporary western armies could not match that death toll inflicted by those muslim armies upon the Hindus . How the Africans , don’t you know that ancient africans had already had the practice of selling fellow africans as slaves ever since the Gaza pyramids was being built and the practice is still continued today in countries such as Sudan and Mauritania where slavery is the best kept or worse kept secret depending on who you ask . How about China , ask yourself this question , how many chinese died building the Great Wall of China for the Chinese emperors . How about India’s mythic Kurukshetra War where more than 3 million warriors died in 18 days . The battles of WWI paled in comparison to the blood letting of that ancient war.
Please , atruehuman . Your ignorance of history is appalling . All races and cultures are blood thirty if given a chance , the only reason why you attack white people for supposed crimes and ignoring others is that they were successful .

Outstanding posts, goy. The interesting story is going to be how the MSM spins this, or covers it up, or applies language of denial and disclaimer.

As a veteran of the revisionist Marxist Left thirty years ago (I left the Left in 1987) I know how deeply the Marxists have burrowed into academia. It’s a lot worse than the public realizes. Plus nobody uses the words socialism/Marxism/Communism anymore to describe their ideological proclivities. They call themselves “progressives” and this is what gives them the cover to do what they do without a lot of suspicion.

I knew many people when I was on the Left who were either Socialists or Communists and they always insisted on being called “progressives.” Most of the recent college grads have been inoculated with soft-Marxism and do not even know it. Very few suspect it. Even fewer have studied the history of ideas at any depth.

The foreign media largely are in the tank for Obama even more rabidly than our own MSM. We have enough of an alternative media that can investigate these matters, and you will not find this kind of investigative journalism overseas.

It’s proof positive that our political system is superior to theirs and what we stand to lose if we allow socialists to take over the country.

And I don’t care that you are white and middle aged and a former Republican either . Tell me what Obama achieved in his first term as Senator , how about when he was serving as a state senator in Springfield , give me his achievements and the bills he crafted himself and are now part of Illinois law . How about his achievements as a community organizer . I will give you a painful hint , if not for Emil Jones , if not for the media helping him in the senatorial elections and sad to say , if he is as white as Hillary , the Democratic party would not even talk to him to become a presidential candidate because he lacks the essential necessities to become president . The only reason why he is the contender is because he is an articulate and well educated mixed race black who speaks to every craving of the Democratic Party’s Leftist members .

Oh, and wait until the ‘deals’ on the houses (I think we are up to either 8 or 10 now) he and Cindy got start being investigated.

Aug 24, 2008 - 7:29 pm 60. fred:

BigDaddyleft,

I used to listen to the BBC years ago, but no longer. High reputation for investigative reporting? Where was the BBC on the story about the deal 10 Downing Street cut with the al Sadr Mahdi Army, so that the British forces had to go into garrison in Basrah? Nowhere to be found. Where is the BBC on reporting about Obama’s Communist mentor in Hawai’i? Not a peep. It took a reporter out of New Zealand named Kincaid to break that story.

You’re just biased. If you weren’t, you would not be over here trying to cut down Clarice Feldman’s credibility and insulting us. You and people like you come here just to show the flag for whoever your candidate is. Bravo. You’re brave. At least you aren’t banned here and your comments deleted, as I’ve seen conservatives treated over at DailyKos and the Democrat Underground.

Ms. Feldman’s story scares the shit out of the Obama camp and his mainstream media supporters. You won’t see the foreign press jumping on this and running with it, because they are in the tank for Obama too.

I listened to the BBC during the eighties and nineties. I NEVER heard a report from them – not a peep – about the terrorism of the Baathist regimes in Iraq and Syria. And the BBC always shows its bias when reporting on the Arab attacks against Israel. You can count on it. They don’t call it al BiBiCeeyah for nothing.

The difference is this , Obama runs on a platform based on Change which for all intents and purposed implies that Barack Obama is a perfect candidate that has no flaws and mistakes . Unfortunately for Obama , his relationships with Wright , Rezko ,Ayers, the Daley political machine as well as his extremely short accomplishments not to mention his dependence of the tele-prompter reveal much about him than whatever McCain throws at him . And oh btw , true conservatives and libertarians and the grass roots Republicans would rather have anyone else than John McCain to run as President , someone like Fred Thompson for instance . So again , could somebody tell me the real accomplishments of Barack Obama other than being an editor of the Harvard Law Review . It’s great that you have a place to rant and get out your frustrations. I’m sure there is a similar blog for people who are voting for Obama to rant about the criminals and sleazes in McCain’s past and present. However, your are right about very few people seeing this or caring about it (except the choir) even if it comes out in the MSM. If this country can elect (or should I say appoint) a near illiterate dufus (I hear Goofy’s laugh) like Bush with all his family’s questionable associations, then no matter what comes out about Obama, it will just be perceived as tit for tat. Most people in this country are asleep about what really goes on in politics. Many voters are either incredibly rich and want to maintain the status quo or working their butts off trying to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. Most of the American voters are just plain tired of the lies and corruption of the past 8 years and want something different. Will it be more lies and corruption? Maybe. But the Ayers stuff won’t alter most American voters who want a change. However, you guys keep up the passionate ranting. It’s a hoot to read while watching TV. - All I hear is more sleay guilt by association claims.

No, Javelina, that’s just the only thing getting through the tin-foil, leftist, knee-jerk filter you have clamped on your head.

There are several interconnecting layers of issues involved here – all of which point to Obama’s unfitness to run for school board treasurer, let alone President of the United States. The complexity may be above your intellectual pay grade, but here’s a breakdown:

1. The scandal is the fact that documentation on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge was initially to be made available to Stanley Kurtz for research purposes. Then, when it became apparent that the information might be embarrassing to Obama, the custodians of those documents suddenly did a one-eighty. Days have now passed during which no one can know for sure whether the documents have been preserved in their original state, given the high stakes involved. More to come on that score Tuesday. Remember: it’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up.

2. Obama and Ayers weren’t merely “associated”. They worked closely together on at least two publicly and privately funded projects, one of which was the CAC – developed by Ayers and Chaired by Obama. This close association demonstrates their like-minded sentiments regarding (at least) education “reform” (see below). Ayers’ unrepentant attitude regarding his terrorist activities in the 60s – expressed as recently as September 11, 2001 (while CAC was underway and Americans were dying at the hands of terrorists not unlike Ayers) – begs the question of what other sentiments the two share.

3. The CAC chaired by Obama was a flat failure, as clearly indicated in the project’s Final Report. Since this relatively small public project is the one and ONLY time Obama has ever held a position of executive authority, examination of that failure goes to his fitness to lead a nation of 300M+ people and the myriad, complex issues involved – both domestically and abroad. It’s clear from the CAC failure that Obama is not fit for the position of POTUS.

4. Tens of millions of dollars were distributed by CAC and no clear paper trail has been produced as yet to indicate how and to whom, by whom. As the program was a failure, this naturally raises the question of who received the money, and on whose authority. Obama, as Chair of the program, is the mostly likely individual to have directed or approved the distribution of these tens of millions of dollars.

5. Obama’s support of Ayers’ program is clear evidence that he supports Ayers’ philosophy on education, that is, that public education should NOT be a platform for teaching science, math, civics, literature, philosophy or history, but rather that it should be a medium for implementing Marxist revolutionary Change. Ayers has never made any effort to hide this firm belief. On the contrary – he has gone as far away as Venezuela to promote it as recently as 2006.

Marxist thug Che Guevara promised… “Change”. It’s no coincidence that this murdering scum is worshiped by Ayers (who named his son Chesa after him). It’s no coincidence that Obama’s campaign slogan is… “Change”.

I am not really an Obama fan, but I don’t think it’s fair to put out articles like this one which cite no sources at all while making rather large allegations. If these things are true, there should be evidence of it.

Additionally, I haven’t really heard Obama say anything about McCain’s associations. I personally found Obama’s comments to be a not-so-subtle jab at McCain’s age, claiming he couldn’t remember or something, when obviously there is a difference between homes you live in and properties you own.

I want to see McCain hit back POINT FOR POINT, with substance. McCain is such an honorable guy with a strong record, not to mention he’s a legitimate American hero. He should chew Obama up and spit him out without stooping to smears.

Obama inspires people. This is a political advantage. McCain bores people and can’t even inspire his own base. This is a political disadvantage. I don’t pretend to know which candidate will win, and suspect that either one would do an adequate job, certainly no worse than the current president. If the electorate voted based on dubious association and decades-old blunders, they certainly would no have voted for a guy who went awol from a cush National Guard posting obtained through nepotism, or a guy who ran several oil companies into the ground after being gifted them through nepotism, or a guy who was gifted 1/16 share in a pro baseball team, through nepotism, and parlayed the resulting profits and prominence into an undistinguished and short career as a governor in a state where the governor has little power, or reelected a guy president who thought that spending a month cogitating on his stem-cell research “policy” was more important than reading CIA briefings entitled “Bin Laden Determined to Strike inside U.S.” Get it? The electorate doesn’t vote based on facts. They vote based on who they think they like best at a gut level. Both Obama and McCain have serious negatives on that count, and it will be interesting to see which way the cards fall this time. Yeah, yeah, the Marxists are taking over the USA. Call it whatever you want bobby hurley, you can’t ‘change’ what is going to happen to your cockroack of a retardocrat candidate when the light gets turned on him. This is just the tip of the iceberg, you backed the wrong pony, again. I just hope that more of you go down with the ship this time. It would raise the IQ level of our nation and set the commies back a hundred years. It would kick izslime in the nads too.

Hurley, how is it a “conspiracy” that one of Obama’s closest associates on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) turns out to be a Marxist socialist who is also an unrepentant domestic terrorist??

Did the “far right wingers” fantasize all this in your opinion? Do you think people are so stupid that they don’t realize Obama’s associates’ blatant Marxist policies reflect directly on him?

Virtually every aspect of Obama’s life and past has revealed some unsavory aspect that disqualifies him as a candidate – at least for anyone of sound mind. This is just one more:

- CAC Program: failure.
- Obama’s CAC Chairmanship: failure.
- CAC Expenditures: $50M wasted.
- CAC Co-founder: anti-American Marxist, unrepentant domestic terrorist and friend to dictator Hugo Chavez
- CAC Goals: “social and psychological outcomes”.

Obama dug this pit all by himself. There’s no “conspiracy” in any of it.

There is one thing missing. No one is talking about what happens if the files have been scrubbed of any reference that might be hurtful to Obama. It’s a likely possibility

Oh! All this negative political noise!! I can’t stand it anymore. I am so tired of bad things being said. Why can’t we all say good things? It is too confusing trying to figure out who said what and who is speaking the truth. My head hurts.

I just like Obama and tyhe way he talks so I’m gonna vote for him along with millions of other youth like me.

Amy, it’s a certainty that the documents have been “adjusted” in at least some way. The delay and associated shenanigans attest to that. But I’d contend that it doesn’t matter.

I suppose it would be satisfying for some to find evidence of some lawbreaking. And such a revelation wouldn’t surprise me in the least. But the facts as we know them are all damning enough if they were made clearly known to the millions of confused fence-sitters out there.

IMHO, pushing this issue in an effort to prove some criminal or ethical wrongdoing – essentially pursuing an impeachment hearing before the election – is going to appear as a witch hunt and backfire unless there’s something incontrovertible (like Peter Paul’s evidence of Hillary’s fraud and election law violations). Simply laying out the points above, which clearly indicate that Obama is simply not executive leadership material, is enough. Lots of quotes from Obama’s books laid side-by-side with Ayers’ hysterical ravings would dispel any notion that Mr. and Mrs. Obama are not closet Marxists.

They used to say that only cockroaches would survive an all out nuclear war.

Lately, though, I’ve been hearing a slightly different survival comparison. Which goes something like this.

They used to say that Barack Obama could easily refute the findings of the Annenberg Report. Now, though, most analysts aren’t giving Barack Obama even odds for being able to survive the Annenberg report.

In fact, apparently now there is some real doubt whether anything but cockroaches will survive it. You see, cockroaches can’t talk, therefore they can’t color the truth.

The same can’t be said of politicians like Barack Obama who’s boxed himself in a corner saying he always had nothing but a very superficial relationshiop with Bill Ayers, the unrepentent bomber of everything from police stations to the Pentagon.

And make no mistake, there are politicians like Barack Obama. One, off the top of my head who reminds me of Obama is Bill Clinton.

Example: A few years back, Bill Clinton didn’t want a drama run on network TV that traced the times Clinton and the U.S.government had Osama Ben Ladin in their sights and we’re too afraid to pull the trigger. Which in all liklihood would have prevented 9/11 from ever happening, and saved countles lives.

To prevent the show from running on TV where people would see Clinton for the incompetent, self centered, lying-through-the-teeth pompous ass he really is and was, Bill and a team of lawyers threatened the network, not only to sue it, but the FCC.

Bill threatened a lot of bad things, but to little avail. The network pretty much ran the show the way they produced it in the first place because they knew legally Clinton couldn’t do anything. It was just a paper tiger making a lot of churlish noice.

Now, the comparison with Barack.

These days, Obama is fuming about a Republican commercial focusing in on Obama’s close, personal relationship with Bill Ayers. So he’s taking a page out of Bill Clinton’s dirty playbook threatening a bunch of TV stations so they won’t run the commercial.

As you may not know, the commercial standards and practices don’t apply to political commercials. Politicians don’t want it to. Allowing politicians to say most anything they want. Lie like drunken lobbyists, if you will.

In trying to get stations not to run the commercial, Barack, like Clinton, doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on. But he’s going through the motions like he does. Which makes life at the TV stations fairly uncomfortable.

With the trump card threat, of course, being, that, if Barack gets elected, he will see to it that the stations’ licenses aren’t renewed.

It’s the politics of hope and changed in action.

Aug 27, 2008 - 3:50 am 107. tanstaafl:

…if Barack gets elected, he will see to it that the stations’ licenses aren’t renewed…

While behind the scenes, Nancy Pelosi (and friends) are pushing hard for resurrection of the (anti) Fairness Doctrine.

What this means is that a yahoo (or yahoos) at the FCC would decide which holders of broadcast licenses presented… controversial issues of public importance…in a manner that was honest, equitable, and balanced and which didn’t.

Nancy recently said that God Himself has given us Barack Obama.

The cast of characters running the show at Democrat Central these days is truly bizarre. If they hold “power” of the sort they’d like to hold, they’re dangerous.

Aug 27, 2008 - 8:46 am 108. Rachel Peepers:

By the way, I love Barack’s dodge to rationalize his longstanding personal relationship with Bill Ayeres. “They (the bombings) happened when I was only eight.

Which would hypothetically justify Barack getting together for a Saturday afternoon barbecue with Aribert Heim, the Nazi “Butcher” at Mauthausen concentration camp.

If Barack were ever called on the carpet about it by the American people, Barack could say, “Hey, all that Nazi stuff happened before I was born. Why are you making a big deal out of this? It’s not about the pocketbook issues that matter to the American people.”

Guys, I’m just trying to expose the ludicrousness of Barack’s dodge about Bill Ayeres.

Can you imagine a sitting President having a close, friendly, personal relationship with an unrepentant terrorist?

FDR didn’t have one. Truman didn’t have one. Ike didn’t. Kennedy didn’t. LBJ didn’t. Nixon didn’t. Ford didn’t. Carter didn’t. Reagan didn’t. Dad Bush didn’t. Clinton didn’t. George W. didn’t.

Barack Obama, I guess, is just a new kind of animal.

Aug 27, 2008 - 11:59 am 109. tanstaafl:

The “I was 8 years old when Bill Ayers bombed stuff” argument was very dumb.

To be precise, Barack was 9 when Ayers likely participated in bombing NYC police headquarters, 10 when Ayers likely participated in bombing the Capitol Bldg. and 11 when the Ayers inspired Pentagon bombing took place.

To be even more precise, Barack was 34 years old when he first cozied up to the unrepentant terrorist’s Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an association he held until age 41.

Aug 27, 2008 - 3:21 pm 110. vharlow:

the real issue, understand that the CAC experience is a glowing example of some very badly “failed policies” and Obama was in charge. So, he’s not got any successful executive experience. He blew $100,000,000 of money he didn’t work for, and he will blow all the money you have worked for doing just the same sort of thing.

Obama and Ayers Planted the CAC Bomb Together

Here’s the closing remark of the attached article by Howard Kurtz:

“The Obama campaign has cried foul when Bill Ayers comes up, claiming “guilt by association.” Yet the issue here isn’t guilt by association; it’s guilt by participation. As CAC chairman, Mr. Obama was lending moral and financial support to Mr. Ayers and his radical circle. That is a story even if Mr. Ayers had never planted a single bomb 40 years ago.”

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122212856075765367.html

Republicans need to drum this message until the election, if they are to have any hope.

Think of this: countless millions were moved about this Chicago elite ecucational reform under Obama’s direction and at Ayers behest, what was the net result?

“CAC’s in-house evaluators comprehensively studied the effects of its grants on the test scores of Chicago public-school students. They found no evidence of educational improvement.”

Even if it wasn’t the brainchild of a small c communist (Ayers description of himself), what does the result of this massive waste of money do to commend Barak Obama?
