Cynthia McKinney’s Excellent Adventure

The former Green Party candidate for president and her Hamas-sympathizing friends find their "Dignity" ruffled — and bumped — by the Israeli navy.

Green Party presidential candidate, truther, and world-class crackpot Cynthia McKinney was attracted to the media buzz surrounding the drama in Gaza like a Kennedy is drawn to an appointed Senate seat.

With the 60-foot yacht Dignity beneath her, the voluble Ms. McKinney accompanied a gaggle of Palestinian apologists and international members of the tin-foil hat-wearing, busy-body brigade on what was characterized in the compliant media as a “humanitarian mission.”  As is so often the case with the confrontational American politician, her interests collided — this time with a vessel from the Israeli navy.

Passengers on board the Dignity claimed that the Israeli patrol boat rammed their vessel, but Israel said the two boats collided as the Israeli navy was trying to contact its captain.

Bearing 3.6 tons of purported medical supplies donated from Cyprus, the leftist crew of the good ship Dignity intended to defy the Israeli blockade of Hamastan and deliver its relief supplies to the Palestinian cause.  The so-called peace activists represent a group called Free Gaza, whose toxic website can be viewed here.

The group’s spokesperson, Caiomhe Butterly, has been neck deep in pro-Palestinian agitprop for years.  To get a taste of McKinney’s Irish counterpart’s insights, try to read the self-promoting screed posing as an interview titled “I wasShot while Trying to Protect Jenin’s Schoolchildren.”

This is a woman who believes 5,000 federal prisoners were massacred after Hurricane Katrina by some sort of latter-day Einsatzgruppen. She is clearly not fit to be allowed, unmedicated, to wander around on her own recognizance.

This boat should not have been rammed.

It should have been sunk. Not so much due to McKinney, but due to the CNN Islamo-propagandist on board.

Jan 1, 2009 - 2:49 am 3. Mary:

Remember with the McKinneys is all about the J.E.W.S. Where does she have the income for a 60 ft yacht? McKinney and her father are a disgrace to Ga and the U.S.

A watery repose in the wine dark sea might have been best, but, then, I’m not supposed to say things like that.

I agree. Next time, a torpedo, or a 50 cal salute.

This woman is a total idiot and embarrassment to the US, and the state of GA. They should have thrown her overboard and celebrated. This headline grabbing wacko should be denied re-entry to the US as a terrorist, she hates America, our values and our democracy. Let her go live somewhere else.

Jan 1, 2009 - 7:12 am 8. Robin:

I can’t figure out why anyone is paying attention to this woman. I tend to ignore stupid comments and completely disregard idiotic antics. If you pay attention to them, they just want more. These people are like small children seeking attention; just ignore them as most parents have learned.

SNL should recruit McKinney and team her with Dennis Rodman. What a comedy act that would be.

It’s funny how I totally forgot about this moronic woman. Of course she sneaks out of her hole onto a ship of leftards. What a beautiful re-introduction to her as a wanna be pirate.

Last I heard of sweet Cynthia, she was accusing

“…the federal government of murdering 3,000 prisoners with bullets to their heads, then dumping them in Louisiana swamps during Hurricane Katrina, as a coverup.”

Over the top and around the bend

This fine young lady speaks well of those she represents. The same group of people who were convinced that mcinsane was a clear choice to hussian. The poster child for hypenated Americans.

Enjoy your much desreved rewards of appeasemnt and political correctness. Cynthia is your man.

I thought she lost her election (according to Daddy Dearest) because of the Jooooos, and not because of “racism”. Those are still two different things, aren’t they?

Just think — at one point enough people thought highly of her to elect her to office. You don’t suppose those were the same people voting for a black person with no questions asked who just elected our bought & paid-for new President, also with no questions asked.

This is one of those laugh/cry situations. But, I agree, likely best to ignore the antics of this loon.

So depressing that bottom feeders like her actually have influence in their own miserable little circles. People like her give courage to terrorists and America haters who truly don’t know that our country isn’t (quite yet) completely populated by such nimrods.

Ah well, her Hamas friends probably think she’s a “crusader” anyways. Her and Jane Fonda would make great buddies…

It was my first impression that the Israeli boat had come up to chat and accidentally……

Slipped on a wet spot.. :)

Can’t help but compare her activities to mine in the 80s.. 128 pounds of me free floating while 5-tons of Killer Whale lunged directly overhead.. Everything goes as anticipated the first time, the second, the third………

There can eventually come a time, though, when a fella’s lucky stars might just be busy rescuing some other likewise “invincible” soul elsewheres.. Bestest to be somewhere, ANYWHERE else besides nanny-nanny-boobooing dadgum warships when that day predictably arrives..

Actually, she was a beneficiary, for much of the length of her tenure in the House of Representatives, of one of those House districts that was manufactured in court to create a black majority. If memory serves correctly hers was the one that followed the fast lane of a freeway for some distance, to connect two black neighborhoods. I distinctly remember her protesting loudly when the courts overturned the racial gerrymandering, because they somehow hadn’t done it to her fellow moonbat, Sheila Jackson-Lee, who’s not quite as nuts as McKinney and last I looked was still in the House. Anyway, once she lost her gerrymandering advantage, the only thing she had going for herself was incumbency, which carried her on for some time. Eventually the voters got to know her well enough to unseat her. Then she really went nuts.

Jan 1, 2009 - 2:39 pm 24. tanstaafl:

Yes. After she punched out (or punched at, it’s been awhile to recall the details) the security guard who was barring her entrance to the Capitol because she wasn’t wearing a badge, “even” her carefully gerrymandered constituency had had enough and she was not re-elected.

Which, to me, at the time, was a sign of intelligent life in the universe.

I’d pair her up, mentally and ideologically, with the Reverend Jeremiah (Bullfrog) Wright (aka Reverend GodDamn America) whose last insult to the planet’s intelligence happened on December 7, 2008 (now known as “last year”) when he was screaming about America bombing innocent Japanese in Hiroshima on December 7, 1941. (sort of a variation of his argument about the government giving black people AIDS)

These people, simply, are not well.

I’m surprised Mother Sheehan wasn’t with her. While Sheehan got some initial sympathy from me because her son was killed in Iraq, it became apparent quickly enough that she was an attention whore. The real principle motivating both women is a desire to prolong their 15 minutes of fame for as long as possible. Running off to hug Chavez and singlehandedly stop the Zionists keeps their faces on the news. Yes, they’re crazy – but they’d become even crazier if the press disappeared and the cameras went away.

I think someone mentioned here that since Israel is America’s largest foreign aid recipient, couldn’t Israel return the favor by at least doing a decent job of sinking this moonbat’s yacht?

Jan 1, 2009 - 4:18 pm 30. Rubicon:

The news reports say the boat was rammed deliberately by the Israeli Navy. I say, if they “really” intended to ram that boat, it would be at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. The mere fact that the vessel made its way to port, means the Israeli’s were NOT trying to ram it. I trust they are good enough to take out whomever they aim at. This woman’s relevance in the world is so limited & connected to moon-bats, that if she has any friends at all, they would fit on that boat!

Jan 1, 2009 - 4:36 pm 31. Alex:

So, Israel had this hive-queen moonbat in the sights of one of their navy gunboats, and they basically just let her go?

Hey Israel, what did we ever do to you?

Jan 1, 2009 - 5:24 pm 32. Ms.Dee:

At least we are all in agreement here. Following her antics would make for a good satirical comedy down the line. Where is Michael Moore now?

Jan 1, 2009 - 8:03 pm 33. Edmund Jenks (MAXINE):

Does the term “Keelhaul” strike a chord? – Hey!, they are in a warzone and she wants to be treated as a serious diplomat … self appointed – sink the boat.

The problem with these gerrymandered Leftist enclaves is that, like Pelosi, eventually they are in the Congress long enough that when the Left hits the jackpot (as they do every few decades, remember Jimmah Carter)the senior people come out of the socialist enclaves and they set the tone for the entire nation. Very bad news for us.

It is indeed a sign of residual sanity that McKinney was not returned to Congress from her gerrymandered district.

Jan 3, 2009 - 7:51 am 35. IAN DORSAI:

Bloody shame they didn’t make her walk the plank…after loading her down with a few tons of relief supplies. And why is the media referring to that craft she was on as a “ship”??? 60 feet is not a runabout, but a ship? Maybe in the Iranian navy.

What need for humanitarian aid?

Facts:

Bombs were fired out of Gaza in to Israel – continuously. They were NOT harmless bombs.

Bombs were fired out of Gaza to Egypt – continuously.

Tunnels were dug under the border of Gaza and Egypt. The cry for humanitarian aid being denied makes no sense. If bombs could be smuggled into Gaza via tunnels – and there is proof they were – then why wasn’t food and medical supplies for the starving children also smuggled? Or were they?

Israel got tired of being bombed continuously. Egypt got tired of being bombed continuously. Years ago, Jordan got tired of being bombed and threatened by suicide bombers so they threw these Arabs who lived in Gaza out. (They did more than that but I’ll let you read about it on your own.)

Those Jews in the Ghettos NEVER bombed the Nazis who were outside the Ghetto. If the Gazans had NOT bombed Israel, then this war would not have begun.

Palistine is the name the ancient Romans gave to that part of the Middle East. Everyone – present day Jews, Egyptians, Jordanians, Iraqi – plus – can be considered people who have lived in Palistine – Palistinians. It is not the name of a people – but a place. Those Arabs in Gaza are as Palistinian as the Jews, Egyptians, etc. are. History is being ignored or rewritten so that there is a reason for Arab militants to further their cause to destroy Israel. Hamas has held these people hostage. They are the ones who need to be held accountable.

Every day as I walk to work, I pass a beat-up old Saab with a “Cynthia McKinney for President” sticker in the back window (along with an “Impeach Bush” bumper sticker). How deluded and dim does one have to be to vote for McKinney for president?

Probably deluded and dim-witted enough to buy and drive a beat up old Saab.

Jan 5, 2009 - 10:21 am 42. Mary:

McKinney isn’t a crackpot so let’s not resort to name calling. The problem with McKinney is that she, like many very misguided African-Americans, equates the Palestinian struggle with their own struggle against the slave trade and Jim Crowe in America. This is a typical thought-stopping connection that poisons much of the “mutliculturalist” mentality on the left. They’ve all gotten so used to the idea that brown people are automatically victims of evil white men, and they think this truth just repeats itself throughout the world, without educating themselves on the actual history of relationships in other parts of the world. Too many on the left who have no idea what really goes on outside of America end up projecting the American minority experience (which is in itself grossly misunderstood) onto everything else outside our borders.

Jan 5, 2009 - 6:31 pm 44. Tina Trent:

‘DavidN’ writes: “[S]he was a beneficiary, for much of the length of her tenure in the House of Representatives, of one of those House districts that was manufactured in court to create a black majority.”

Yes, but it’s important to remember the rest of the story — that it was the Republicans who created these predominantly black, predominantly liberal-Democrat districts by forming coalitions of convenience with black Democrats, who happily colluded in diluting the overall electoral strength of their own party in order to increase their power.

Once these crazily gerrymandered districts were created, you had the spectacle of McKinney and conservative Republicans arm-in-arm, invoking the Voting Rights Act whenever anyone challenged them. There was a lot of shameful behavior — and a lot of ugly, unfounded accusations of racism by extremists in both parties. The European Press and the New York Times, of course, reported these events in the argot of Jim Crow, as ‘Mary’ points out.

This strategy greatly assisted the Republican takeover in Georgia and drove a deeper wedge between rural, moderate, white Democrats and their liberal, urban black counterparts, fragmenting the Democratic Party. McKinney happily hopped into bed with conservative Republicans, and they happily hopped in with her.

Why is this important? Because it perfectly illustrates the way racialized politics destroys real racial progress. By exclusively promoting (and wielding) race over the issues and causes she claimed to stand for as a Progressive Democrat, McKinney gained power at the expense of Democrats of all races in Georgia and at the expense of southern voters, who continue to be held to unique scrutiny under the Voting Rights Act. And guess who re-upped the Voting Rights Act, which only affects voters in certain states, when it was due to expire? George Bush, precisely because it worked to strengthen this style of Republican gerrymandering.

Reckless racial politicking always seems to breed more of the same — until people go off the deep end, like McKinney did. She started out as a bright, energetic legislator, albeit of an old-school political machine. And she ended up bobbing around in a boat off the Gaza Strip, hurling accusations of racism at Israelis and Americans and the West.

Shame on everyone, including George Bush and Karl Rove, who made her journey so eminently possible.
