My God, can you imagine the derision and ridicule that would be heaped upon any republican that said there were 57 states in the union? It would render that little E on the end of Dan Quale's potato insignificant. The biased liberal press ignored it for all it was worth. The once noble 4th estate has willingly prostituted itself to the socialists. Thank God for the internet and the full spectrum of viewpoints it provides.

That is the choice made by the citizens of PR. They have been offered the choice of statehood, independence of the status quo many times. The always keep it the way it is. Cuba had the same choice many many years ago and choose independence. It looks like PR did the smart thing.

People,

Turnout is low for this primary because we know we're of no consequence in the Presidential election! For our own general election, the story will be completely different.

You'll see...

[...] I have wondered more than once why Puerto Rico gets a say in the Presidential race since it’s a territory, not a state, and they don’t get to vote in the election. I wasn’t sufficiently curious to look it up, but the answer to that and a whole lot more is here: Pajamas Media » Democratic Primary Fight Comes Ashore in Puerto Rico [...]

WHY IS IT THAT IT WOULD APPEAR THAT PEOPLE ARE ONLY TRYING TO WIN THE VOTE IN PUERTO RICO? WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE GENERAL ELECTIONS IS ANYBODY'S GUESS. Puerto Rico deserves respect now and after the general elections. No political expediency please.Peace to all. Errol Smythe.

Do Puerto Ricans vote in general elections? If they do, why? Puerto Rico is not a state. It may, Obama willing, become one of our 58 states. If they do not vote in general elections, why bother with primaries?
