Does Obama have a different copy? Goodness, no. He just doesn’t consider himself bound by the Constitution of the United States.

Long before 2008, way back when he was just a blip in Chicago politics, he stated publicly that he found our Constitution frustrating and limiting.

Why on earth should anyone act surprised now that he is having the opportunity to act on what he has always believed?

We had damn well better speed up the process of comprehension if we care about the United States of America. At this rate, we’ll still be discussing “does he REALLY not like us, or is he just pretending???” long after the memorial service for the Stars and Stripes has been held.

Can we please stop acting surprised/puzzled/unbelieving/baffled and start taking this villain at face value–and respond to the clear and present danger?

Obama is ahiled as a constitutional lawyer.

No one should be surprised at what he does and tries to do. Our problem is we are allowing it to happen…yes, we are the ones to blame. This is our country. He was not born and reared here. He does not have the same love for this land that we do.

His being in office is our legacy for not investigating, for being uninfomred, and letting the press get in our way. The press seems to be bought and paid for in their opinions and how they report things. Freedom of our country and constitution are at stake.

Obama just doesn’t want to follow our constitution as it limits his ambitions. Keep in mind his reactions to Honduras recently.

The Pantywaist thinks himself much greater than the 230+ years of our Republic’s history AND the Constitution. He will fail.

DaveinPhoenix – yes, he WILL fail – but let’s help him to fail sooner than later, please, as waiting for him to do it on his own could also render the US Constitution null & void…

Barack Obama cannot be trusted with the country or the constitution, which are inseparable. He is an elitist. He genuinely believes that he knows better than the rest of his fellow citizens what is good for them. He will not be deterred in this thinking, and apparently, at least 52% of American voters thought that Barack Obama knows better than they themselves do what is good for them. This is a frightening change in our cultural psyche, but you need look no further than what America watches on television, and the miserable wretches that a large part of the populace worship as “heroes” to see why they view Obama as a messiah. Pitiful. Pathetic. And to think, Obama defeated a man who spent five years in a Vietnamese prioner of war camp to prove his mettle and his devotion to country. Actions speak louder than words, no matter how eloquent the speaker.

Obama was raised in the era where all written discourse was subject to personal interpretation. This is the same school of thought that allows lit professors to hail Ophelia as a symbol of female oppression while denying that she was seriously overwrought. So the Constitution is something they can twist and tangle to support their political agenda.

Oops should be “situational ethics”

Most Presidents abuse or ignore the Constitution. Nixon and Reagan got caught. George W. raised it to an art-form. Obama seems perfectly mainstream in this regard, downright Republican in fact.

“Most Presidents abuse or ignore the Constitution”

This one stands alone in his public pronouncements opposing the content and character of the Constitution.

In his manner of disregarding and disliking the Constitution of the United States of America, he is not part of any grouping of Presidents: he stands quite alone.

What happened to the story I saw last weekend (around 2 AM on Fox News) about the soldier who had received orders to go to Afghanistan but refused to go because they came from an illegitimate President who was not born in America? He then received new orders, and that was that.

Normally, a soldier who refuses to obey orders is court-martialled. Could there be some reason the Abu Hussein administration did not want to make an issue of the matter? And why did the story die? I have not seen anything more on it, not even on Fox. This seems like a big deal to me.

You were duped and played like fools by the media to elect this fool as president . Are you afraid now for what he has plans for you and all your rights ?

Am I being punnished for my thoughts ?

#12 Joseph: I don’t think so.

Jul 17, 2009 - 12:14 pm 14. Pete:

I find it fascinating these guys, and many in the comments section too, are able to accuse the President of unconstitutional acts without mentioning a single specific case.

What exactly are they railing against? Why are they so pissed off over something that even they won’t say has actually happened?

Jul 17, 2009 - 12:47 pm 15. Patrick of Atlantis:

My guess is that he has it printed on toilet paper.

Jul 18, 2009 - 10:56 am 16. The Shadow:

Pete – These guys live in fantasy land. When they don’t have a case they make it up. They are not exactly constitutional scholars. They start from the stand point of hating Obama. Then they hate anyone who voted for him and even the conservatives who disagree with him but respect his ability. You can only come here if you want to see what is happening in wingnut land. Sometime you can stir up the hornets nest for fun – see if you can provoke them. I don’t know how they will be able to stand 7 1/2 years without leaving the country
