Nancy Pelosi has only one thing going for her: Steny Hoyer is neither a female or a “man of color.” Barack Obama will not feel comfortable seeing her replaced by a white dude. Pelosi only has her present position because of her gender. Obama will wait a few more weeks before pushing her under the bus. He will closely look at the polling numbers. The president will act only if he feels there is no other alternative. If Pelosi were a male—she would already be history. Nonetheless, I predict she will no longer be House leader by the middle of June.

David Thomson is incorrect. Hussein has no say over Pelosi’s future. That is up to the members of the House Democratic caucas. I don’t believe that he is stupid enough to inject himself into an angry nest of hornets. Doing so is a lose-lose situation. I disagree with Rep. King and others who think she should resign. Pelosi is radioactive and does much more damage (and delays) the Obama Socilaist agenda. As a conservative I hope she stays through the 2010 mid-term elections.

I really am having a wonderful time reading and laughing at this issue and the various comments and opinions of people on this comment and similar boards. The thought of some one taking away the keys to the 767 or frog marching Nancy out of her office suite in the House Building in front of her weeping staff is too delicious to even imagine .
Alas , its all fantasy and imagination.It isn’t going to happen. Get ready for the disappointment of the year. No one is going anywhere. These are Democrats and when the last possible hope is gone for Speaker Pelosi, nothing will happen. They will not destroy their own. These people will rationalize , tolerate ,accept and find faultless their own people. The distinction is unique because the Republicans first instinct is to punish the transgressor.
I know all of the unbelievers who think we play this game by the same rules cannot accept the reality that is the Democratic Party. They are above the law and any accountability.
Get ready for the issue to vanish . In a few weeks this subject will be as valid or newsworthy as a case of swine flu.

I think Nancy Pelosi will be gone by the middle of next month—but you might be right. Democrats have a solidly earned record of protecting their losers. Senator Ted Kennedy even survived Chappaquiddick. Democrat voters, generally speaking, are rather dumb and often immoral. There is indeed a decent possibility that Pelosi will survive this mess.

Last time they tried to attack Speaker Pelosi ( second in line to the President of the United States) it was about her alleged abuse of military transportation. This attack as expected turned out to be bogus. It turned out that the previous Speaker (Hastert – a Republican) made far more use of military transportation. It turned out that Speaker Pelosi was possibly overly prudent and too self-restrained in her use of military transportation.

Now Republicans are trying to attack her about allegedly having been told by the Bush administration about things she was not told about, like water boarding. Republicans are attacking her because she is being so effective at getting the peoples work done in congress, like healthcare. And Republicans want to stop her. Don’t put up with that. Every time they attack Speaker Pelosi they are attacking you and the rest of the American people. If they go after her, go after them even harder.

They are trying to con Speaker Pelosi and the American people. And here is how it works. Approximately 6 years ago CIA had a briefing with Pelosi and congress, but DID NOT tell congress and Pelosi that the Bush administration was using torture ( water boarding ) on detainees. Then the Bush administration sent in Porter Goss to head the CIA and to destroy, and doctor records in part to make it look like Pelosi, and the Democrats in congress were onboard with the illegal torture of detainees by the Bush administration.

See, apparently at these intelligence briefings members of congress are not allowed to take notes. And if they do, they are not allowed to keep them. Apparently the CIA makes notes, but the members of congress are not allowed to see those notes either. And they can’t tell anybody about what was said at the briefings. But the CIA can come back six years later and claim they told members of congress something six years ago that they did not tell them at that time. And they can use falsified notes to substantiate their claim. Planting disinformation was the type of thing the CIA became very good at during the time Porter Goss was a young CIA agent. Just gotta love it.

If you will remember, their was a mass exodus of senior CIA officials after Porter Goss took over. And the complaint at the time was that longtime, highly experienced agents were being replaced by other people based mostly on their political loyalties to the Bush administration and their extreme right-wing ideologies. Which is just exactly what you need if you want people who will be willing to break the law under orders. Sound familiar? I don’t think you can trust any CIA records after Goss took over.

I have nothing but the utmost respect, and admiration for the dedicated and patriotic members of OUR! Central Intelligence Agency. When the Bush administration betrayed one of OUR! agents (Mrs. Wilson) it made me boiling MAD! I think our new Director Pennetta has got some internal investigation and agency house cleaning to do. If you backtrack on the individuals that have been making the false attacks on Speaker Pelosi, and trace who they have had contact and conversations with, you should be able to connect the dots and catch your conspirators.

The key that the CIA records are falsified is Sen. Bob Graham and his journal, and common sense. By the way, I think Mr. Pennetta is an excellent choice to head the CIA and fix it.

They are trying to kill healthcare reform. And continue our healthcare crisis. Don’t put up with that.

To The Congress Of The United States:

If it is true that you are not allowed to have or make any permanent records of your intelligence briefings for later clarifications, and protection, that is ridiculous. That leaves all of you vulnerable to just this type of scam that is being perpetrated on Speaker Pelosi. So here is what you can do about it to protect your-selves in the future.

Members should be able to make notes and other recordings of these briefings. Then these briefings and recordings can be reduced to a computer file that can then be encrypted and digitally signed with a detached digital signature using key encryption. Then each of you can encrypt, and sign each others copy of the record that can only be unlocked with the other parties key. And both parties copies can be verified with each others copy of the files detached digital signature.

Very easy. Very secure. No more exposure to falsified records down the road.

You see, it almost doesn’t really matter what CIA allegedly did or didn’t tell Speaker Pelosi, and congress. Because the briefing format is so deficient of any checks, balances, or verification that all we know is that all external briefing accounts support Speaker Pelosi’s version of events. Pelosi and congress should have been given every benefit of the doubt. And that should have been it.

There are many other booby traps out there set for you congress. Be careful.

Democrats stood behind Bill Clinton when he lied. Democrats defended and rewarded the rep from Mass. when he was censured because of his inappropriate homosexual relationship with a minor. Democrats defended and kept Frank in office after it was discovered his lover was running a male prostitute ring out of his home. The list goes on and on. Pelosi will not be removed from office.

And, don’t forget this bunch from the CIA were the ones who did a pretty good job of destroying George W. Bush. Why would they turn on one of their own? Expect some sort of “rendition” of the facts and Pelosi will come out clean.

If Pelosi goes down, she will take a good chunk of the GOP with her. I’m curious to see who gets prosecuted, assuming that an investigation will occur.

Cheney is working overtime to keep out of prison. Attacking Pelosi just makes his eventual trial that much more likely. Anyone who trusts the CIA version of events is either a fool or a tool.

Earlier, the right wing was claiming that torture was necessary to save the country. Now you are claiming that Pelosi should resign for some vague role, not in authorizing torture, but in being briefed on torture and not speaking up about it?

The only way a Pelosi resignation will come about is if there are investigations. And if there are investigations, you can bet that Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rusmfeld, Gonzalez, Yoo and other Republicans will be at the center of those investigations and Pelosi will only be on the periphary.

So, basically, in order to ruin Pelosi you’re going to have to drive the blade through the heart of your own party first. And I doubt that “getting” Pelosi is worth suicide.

Fine, show me the proof that she lied. But please, enlighten me, how are you going to provide that proof without an investigation? And how are you going to have a torture investigation without Bush, Cheney and the CIA?

You can’t. The sad part is that you Republicans don’t even realize that by calling for Pelosi’s head, you’re giving yourself just enough rope to hang yourselves. If you had just laid low, there would be no investigations and the Bush administration would have gotten away with illegal torture.

Waterboarding Versus True Torture

I’ve been getting pretty fed up with this whole waterboarding-torture controversy manufactured by Democrats. It’s obvious they knew about it all along and now are attempting to use it to tar and feather Republicans and the Bush administration.

Literally tarring and feathering might in fact constitute torture while waterboarding would not and playing fast and loose with linguistic interpretations doesn’t make it so.

Speaker of the House, Nancy “I Never Met a Lie I Didn’t Like” Pelosi, should take a look at this 5 minute video, provided by the good people at AmericanConservativeDaily.com, http://www.americanconservativedaily.com/2009/05/video-of-waterboarding-technique/.

A reporter who shall remain nameless, since volunteering to be waterboarded by the American military suggests he was not in full possession of his faculties, underwent that “torture” technique of his own volition. He also demonstrated that waterboarding is something less than actual torture; unpleasant, yes, torture, definitely not.

Torture is something of an art form developed over eons by people far less civilized than Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, and our C.I.A. and perfected in modern times by none other than our current allies, the Japanese, and current enemies, the Chinese, the Russians, and by those who profess a deep and abiding faith in Allah.

Torture has now been defined by the eminently-educated and pre-eminently politically-correct scholars at Stanford University, thanks be to God!

They say it incorporates such methods ”as searing with hot irons, burning at the stake, electric shock treatment to the genitals, cutting out parts of the body, e.g. tongue, entrails or genitals, severe beatings, suspending by the legs with arms tied behind back, applying thumbscrews, inserting a needle under the fingernails, drilling through an unanesthetized tooth.”

Those barbarisms all sound quite painful and are not something to be tried at home, or at parties, or even by drunken Democrats.

The Stanford intelligentsia then felt compelled to extrapolate from true torture techniques for the purpose of Republican-bashing, although never mentioning any political party. They appended to their definition, . . .
