Illinois Scandal Taints Obama Halo

The investigation into Governor Rod Blagojevich's selling Obama's Senate seat could involve the president-elect's closest aides.

Today’s papers carry reports of the arrest of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich and his aide, along with reports that FBI agents were shocked at the crude talk on the wiretaps of his conversations in which he demanded that everyone who wanted something from him had to pay for the privilege.

We can anticipate that the criminal charges that have been filed (reprinted here ) will be hard fought.

The first question on most peoples’ minds has to be is the new president-elect involved and will he be drawn into this? It’s been known for a long time that Obama has had strong ties to Rezko (see, i.e.,) who is revealed yet again in these tapes as the governor’s bagman. If you wanted anything done in Chicago, it appears that you had to do it through payoffs for the governor to Rezko.

In his press conference, prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald denied that there was anything in the criminal complaint linking Obama to the events, but Jim Lindgren at the Volokh Conspiracy finds a rather well-defined trail of crumbs back to the president-elect .

From the evening of Nov. 10 until yesterday, Blagojevich, Obama, and his transition team acted in ways that are consistent with a knowledge of Blagojevich’s bribery attempt and a rejection of that attempt. What doesn’t fit easily with the timeline is Obama’s statement yesterday.

It should be noted that it is not a crime to fail to report a bribery attempt. The federal misprision of felony statute would seem to make it a federal crime to fail to report a federal felony:

Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both. 18 USC s.4.

But case law has conclusively determined that mere non-reporting is not enough. Active concealment or the acceptance of a benefit for concealing is required.

Yet, looking at this timeline of Blagogate, it seems quite possible that someone in the Obama Camp is either lying or at least not revealing what they know. I also find it hard to believe that Obama’s closest advisors were hiding major corruption from him, especially as he was making decisions about where to place Senate candidates such as Jarrett.

We’ve all been through this drill before; countless aides and advisers hauled before the grand jury under suspicion of process crimes — that is, not disclosing the truth of the events. Lindgren notes:  “Since by all accounts, the Obama camp refused Blagojevich’s bribery attempt, it would be extremely unwise to lie about it. Remember, it’s not the crime that trips you up; it’s the cover-up.”

There is a funny spot in Blago’s indictment which is prudently referred to (by the objective media, of course, LA Times) as: “There was also frank talk of how to land Blagojevich’s wife a well-paying position on a private, corporate board.”

With Michelle’s salary blasting from where? was that $120.000 to $260.000? in one day after Obama became a US senator, Blago’s frustration is fully understandable. After all, we are talking change, but really BIG TIME, arent’t we?

It is so poignant to see how Michelle Obama’s career is such an inspiring role-model for the Democrats, this woman who defeated so much adversity in her life, and who accomplished so much!
And also, how much the Blagojevich affair highlights Obama’s wealth redistribution sensibilities!

Yes, I belive in wealth redistribution and I want my cut, too!

All these corrupt Chicago people (Blago, Rezco, etc) propped up Obama because they felt comfortable with him, safe with him. Even if Obama never did a thing wrong or unethical, the fact that these crooks wanted him in office should give anyone pause. Obama is no whistle-blower. He’s won’t and never did go after corruption.

And while you’re at it, maybe you can explain why The One’s first reaction to the news was to pretty much deny he even knew the Gov-ocrat even existed, a lie that was exposed within three minutes of him uttering it?

I am thrilled that this legitimate scandal is pushing the idiotic claim that Obama is not an American citizen off the front pages. That nonsense was unwittingly a great help to the president-elect. The “Blago” affair may be gutting Obama’s presidency before it even begins. He should have little political capital to push leftist causes like card check and so-called global warming legislation.

Any doubt as to the MSM future handling of the Obama connection to all of this can easily be seen by clicking on the last few words “Chicago swamp mud” link. If there is any impropriety here, it will be swept under the rug and discounted as coming from the tin-foil hat crowd. Of course did we really expect anything differently when they’ve allowed our calls for public disclosure of all of his records to fall on deaf ears? They got what they wanted in Obama and the truth be damned! I am getting a small amount of joy out of watching Obama squirm when asked about any possible connection to the Illinois mess. Now that Jesse Jackson Jr. is involved, things are really starting to get interesting! Pass the popcorn, I’m going to go put on my tin-foil hat!

“Fact two – According to the Prosecutor Obama had nothing to do with the scandal.”

Exactly when did he say that? Just because there are currently no allegations against him, which is I believe is what the prosecutor said, doesn’t mean he wasn’t involved in some other way. Didn’t a jury find OJ Simpson not guilty of killing his wife?

Frankly, I doubt Obama was involved, or at least not in a way that could get him trouble. What will get him in trouble is lying about something as simple as if he meant with Blago to discuss the senate seat or not. Except for the die hard Obama fan, I doubt that anyone really believes that Axelrod misspoke last month when he said Obama did meet and have a discussion with him.

Dec 10, 2008 - 1:00 pm 13. always right:

Painful to watch but really obvious:
Remember yesterday was supposed to be Obama’s attempt at mollyfying the left with the ‘implementing climate change policy will be top priority in my administration’ day. When caught off-guard, the President-Elect’s first instinct is to ‘lie to cover up his own ass’. Next his camp ‘talk among themselves to get the story straight’ later the same day. Followed by next day ‘inartful’, ‘misspake’, etc. etc. blinders. If potential damage to The One is too great, Obama calls for ‘resignation’ (i.e. throw under the bus Pronto!). Which Democrat under indictment/investigation has Obama called for resignation the following day?

Chinese premier, Putin, and any tinpan dictator laughing their collective asses off right now.

Robert Hurley…There you go again trying to get everyone to stop talking about this latest democratic debacle. As to your point that the Attorney General saying Obama was not involved in the mess, you are putting words into Fitzgerald’s mouth! He never stated that. He said something to the effect that at this time, Obama is not implicated. Not quite as cut and dried as you’d like to believe Mr. Hurley. We should withhold judgement on Mr. Obama at this time though. I’d say we should all wait until we hear all of those implicated start singing like canaries. Now that Jesse Jackson Jr. has been outed as one of those in the indictment, it shouldn’t be long.

If not “O”. then someone from his staff has talked either directly with Blago, or his staff. Otherwise, how do you explain Blago’s disparaging remark about “O” not being willing to pay to play…….Is “O” guilty of a felony, not likely, but then again Scooter Libby was convicted not on what he was alleged to have done, but lying about it. Someone or maybe even more heads than one from “O” staff will roll before this is finished, or “The One’s” political capital will have been spent before he takes the oath of office.

I don’t know why when anything happens people want to connect Obama with it. He’s been so busy choosing a new cabinet and getting ready to assume the job of President of the United States I doubt he cares less what Blago does. RE #10/Robert Hurley: “[...] According to the Prosecutor Obama had nothing to do with the scandal. [...]”

Yo, dba Hurley, relentless licker of the One’s shoes:
1) can you deny that Blago EXPLICITLY talked about getting a high paying job for his wife in a board of a private company?
2) can you deny that Michelle Obama’s job at $120.000 as a community relations director (???! what is that?) was a reality? And a scandalous one?
3) can you deny that Michelle’s got a raise from $120.000 $260.00 IMMEDIATELY after Obama’s getting in the US Senate?
a) can you explain why Michelle got a raise at that
particular time?
b) can you explain why did she get SUCH an utterly
scandalous raise at that time? (utterly scandalous
amount for a position which actually requires
NOTHING, but nothing to do – basically a bribe, and
a bribe from the TAXPAYERS’ money, since that
Chicago University Hospital is heavily supported by
public money? Maybe here we can see the idea of
redistributing the wealth at work);

To make easier your effort:
1) call Cedarfort and Vivo to help you obfuscate the matter;
2) explain why pressing on the “present” button
hundreds of time while an Illinois representative
shows great character;
3) blame “my staff”
4) use as much as possible the phrase “this is a
distraction”;
5) write in moving terms about your white grandmother;

… PJM readers can help Hurley, Cedarford and Vivo with more suggestions for eeling out with an explanation about Michelle Obama’s going in NO TIME from $120.000 to $260.000 after her hubby got in the US senate –

Free Blagojevich! He is a victim!

Hurley,

I’m sure the weak-minded and Democrats will rally around your pronouncements from on high, but the rest of us will just follow the process through to the end and if Obama emerges as a player in the scandal, so be it. I love the fact that Michelle Obama was called out as exactly what she is, an incompetent. God that is hilarious. And I love what Blagojevich calls Obama!

Anyway, screw you if you think you can stop justice in its tracks just because you don’t like one of the possible outcomes. That’s un-American BS, quite frankly, and comes very close to being “fighting words”, although I’m not surprised to hear it from an ideologue like you. I’m not going to give up my right to see due process pursued just because you happen to love the idea of having Obama as President.

Dec 10, 2008 - 4:46 pm 22. venividivici:

I also find it hilarious that Obama can’t even got Blago to do something he doesn’t want to do, yet he’s going to negotiate our enemies out of pursuing their own interests for our benefit!

I can see Putin now, “Why should I do what you want me to do when you can’t even control your own state’s governor?” Anyone who knows what Putin’s done to regional governors in Russia will see why he’d get a laugh out of this in particular.

———-
And, it should be pointed out, Mr. Obama has a relationship with Mr. Blagojevich, having not only endorsed Blagojevich in 2002 and 2006, but having served as a top adviser to the Illinois governor in his first 2002 run for the state house.

In the Democratic gubernatorial primary that year, then-state sen. Obama endorsed former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris. But after Blagojevich won, Obama came around enthusiastically. At the same time, meanwhile, Axelrod had such serious concerns about whether Blagojevich was ready for governing he refused to work for his one-time client.

According to Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., Mr. Obama’s incoming White House chief of staff, Emanuel, then-state senator
Obama, a third Blagojevich aide, and Blagojevich’s campaign co-chair, David Wilhelm, were the top strategists of Blagojevich’s 2002 gubernatorial victory.

Dec 10, 2008 - 9:40 pm 35. Rachel Peepers:

Here’s why Obama, Michelle, Rahm and the Axman aren’t sleeping well these days.

Tony Rezko and Hot Rod will be offered deals and, or will be trying to cut a deal with the feds offering to say what they know about Obama.

And realize that Tony and Rod and everybody else in the Chicago in-crowd knows all the dirty stuff that goes down. Not only is there no honor among thieves, but there are no secrets. And Obama is as dirty as the rest of them.

Let’s face facts, Obama managed to skate on thin ice all the way to the Presidency, but the pay to play thing bribe scandal makes it a whole new ballgame. From now on, the President elect will be spending a good deal of his waking hours waiting for the other shoe to drop. The proverbial ax to fall.

Some recent history:

Obama and Rahm thought that Rod was likely to get caught by the Feds. That’s why (are the pieces starting to fit in place?) Barack risked incredibly harsh Republican criticism for naming Eric Holder attorney general designate. Eric is dirty, of course, too. But he was supposed to be Barack’s last line of defense if someday the corrupt Chicago kitchen was getting too hot.

Well, the day has come.

It’s a forgone conclusion that Barack will fire Pat Fitzgerald within a week of taking the oath of office. Still a time bomb with Barack’s name on it is ticking in the names of Rezko and Blagojevich.

Ayers, Flaeger, Wright, Rezko, Michelle’s pay to play job, her play to pay $150,000 raise, Dorne, Khalidi. There’s no denying it. Barack has been a bad little boy, hanging around with thugs, racists, American flag stoppers, bomb throwers, women haters. Barack is up to his neck in Chicago slime. And the singing that Rod and Tony are sure to do is destined to sink him.

If you voted for Obama, you backed someone who’s hoping beyond hope to be exonerated before he’s even inaugurated. Barack is going down. Within a year all this will play out, and play for pay will prove to be his undoing. The brown eyed handsome man will be lucky to stay out of jail.

Although the uninvestigated eligibility issue may have passed without Obama being required to produce his vault birth certificate and his mother’s medical records, Appointmentgate is still a timely distraction.

With most opinion makers, including the opposition, being afraid to subject Obama to the same scrutiny that any other candidate would be subjected to, Obama has little to worry about at this is point.

Unless he mishandles a major international crisis most people will continue to play The Emperor’s New Clothes for at least a year.

Note to all….Obama was elected by uninformed voters who have no idea nor care about all of Obama’s shady past/present/future. If they did they wouldn’t have voted for him in the first place. There are posters here today trying to defend Obama’s lack of bringing forth documentation required by all others sniffing at public office. Let us not forget the outcry for Sarah Palin to produce her health records to prove she actually gave birth to Trig. All of that and we have no right to see a birth certificate, school records or anything related to Obama. Indefensible except by those who throw facts to the wind. Again, when faced with the possibility of being linked ONCE AGAIN to Rezco and his ilk, his supporters are trying to say it’s all Republicans trying to sully the new President. These are the same people that defend child molestors by saying what they do in private is nobody’s business. Defending the indefensible is the democratic way apparently. (Sidenote to vivo…You aren’t letting the law decide anything. You’re wanting to sidestep the law and are happy to see it being done thus far. If you cared about the law you’d be beside us wanting to see ALL of Obama’s records. That’s the LAW remember? You have no desire to see the law followed so don’t hide under that banner friend. You’ve been outed for what you truly are in favor of.) We should not be shocked when again Obama’s supporters call for this all to be put on the shelf, swept under the rug, tossed into the wind because otherwise, it would be too painful/embarrassing for them to know what they’ve voted in and will be subject to for the next 4 years. Just wait. We’ll see them tapdancing around on these comment lines all day shouting “Obama has nothing to do with this!” and on and on. Gird your loins friends.

Dec 11, 2008 - 6:30 am 44. AnninCA:

Obama’s remarks yesterday still obviously begs the question: Whom did Blago contact, and what did your staff do about the attempted bribery? All Obama said was that he personally didn’t meet with the governor. That’s about like he personally never heard offensive sermans for 20 years. Later, I recall, he said, “Of course, I knew about the inflammatory statements.” I also recall, keenly, that the press never followed up and asked him about the contradiction.

However, they did demand repeatedly to know about Trig’s birth details. :)

I see no real change in the way the press is approaching this story. None of the real questions were even asked.

Dec 11, 2008 - 6:56 am 45. always right:

This is exactly the reason why we begged and begged for any journalist to look into Obama’s background before the election, since he has not left any tangible paper trail for his relative short period of serving the people.

But no, public was not interested. The shining halo and speech-reading ability was good enough for them to select him as the CinC. (ppssttt, don’t give me the crap about your vote is anti-Bush. If that’s the case, why don’t you select a real donkey? Who would probably do less damage.)

Now, this scandal broke before the coronation. It doesn’t matter if the scope of the investigation involves Obama directly or not, once he takes the office, it will be a greatly WEAKENED WH. To say ‘less effective’ to deal with foreign entity (hostile or not) is to put it mildly.

Well, that is what liberals wanted all along, isn’t it? Congratulations! You have achieved your goal.

Politicians are like people, you have good ones and you have bad ones. When you expose the bad ones, get rid of them, when you recognize the good ones, reward them with more time in office. We can’t be too cynical about all of our leaders, otherwise you’ll lose complete faith in our system. We must not let a few corrupt idiots to change how we think about our country, or allow us to lose confidence in our leaders who are working tirelessly for the people of the various state and national government entities. Hilarious. She got the extra money because of who she knows not what she knows. What kind of money did she make working in the private sector before hubby became a Big Time Politician?

Dec 11, 2008 - 9:35 am 52. Robert Hurley:

Susan – sorry to diappoint you but I have been happily married for 42 years

Dec 11, 2008 - 9:35 am 53. Terry Gain:

Hurley

You may believe that Obama met with the Govenor (was born in Hawaii) but you have no facts. Typical (Indeed)

Dec 11, 2008 - 9:39 am 54. Kathryn:

Its very simple. Obama does not know Blagojevich at all.Blagojevich is just a Governor who lives in Obama’s neigborhood. If that doesn’t satisfy you…this is not the Blagojevich Obama knew before he was arrested

Dec 11, 2008 - 9:43 am 55. John B:

I’d say those who believe Obama was born in Hawaii have no facts to support that claim. No vault copy of the “Certificate of Live Birth” was ever produced. Similarly, those who believe Obama had no contact with the Illinois Governor regards his old Senate seat likewise have no facts to support that position either. However, we do have the words of his soon-to-be Chief of Staff, (since retracted) that says otherwise.

Fast and loose with the truth seems to be a way of life around Obama supporters.

Dec 11, 2008 - 9:57 am 56. susan:

robert, you can write that you are really mary poppins, do you think i believe you in the first place?

But let’s suppose it’s true (BTW, a 42 years marriage is NO indication that you are NOT in desperate need of a woman, that you leftists into free love and devoud of any commitment, teach me), unless you got married underage you should be now not younger than 60. And you are constantly on a message board playing the street team for a glorified crook that’s 15 years younger than you.

You sound more and more like a jonas brother cheerleader in desperate need of attention. Did you go to obamas rallies to ask for a treasured autograph?

And you dare to call republican voters deranged? Deluded?

Who is the sad and desperate 60+ cheering on an antagonist message board to an idolized version of a celebrity politician instead of working or enjoy retirement or other fulfilling activity?

If I didn’t know already how sad you are, I am sure now.

PS: still no evidence of the ginormous intelligence of Mrs obama AKA black Marie Curie of modern times

Dec 11, 2008 - 10:00 am 57. John B:

@ Susan, #56

I have it on good authority that Robert Hurley is actually a 22 y.o. San Francisco transvestite living in his mothers basement. Someone needs to tell his mom it’s time to change the password on her computer.

Oh,btw,,, the good authority part, I made that up. But you can see how internet rumors get started.

Dec 11, 2008 - 10:22 am 58. Toomey:

“I have it on good authority that Robert Hurley is actually a 22 y.o. San Francisco transvestite living in his mothers basement.” What a coincidence….I heard exactly the same thing, but discounted it because Robert Hurley’s ideas are much closer to those of a 15 year old TV living in his mother’s basement

Dec 11, 2008 - 10:41 am 59. Rachel Peepers:

Voting for Obama for President was like buying a car because it was very shiny.

Then you’re surprised when the brakes fail and you have head on accident on the corner of Corruption Street and Liars Lane.

Dec 11, 2008 - 11:06 am 60. Jim:

And it came to pass. Lord Obama walked upon the cesspool, and his disciples were very afraid. And they said,” Behold, his feet stinketh not”. And Lord Obama spake unto the masses. He said, “Behold, I have not been immersed into the cesspool, I only walked upon it”. And the masses went away fully fed… from the cesspool.

Dec 11, 2008 - 11:33 am 61. Robert Hurley:

Poor Toomey – I see that you and the Governor have much in common – when you can’t think you grab for slime.

Dec 11, 2008 - 11:46 am 62. zanne:

Reported by Fox News. “This is a common practice in politics.” Payoffs for seats. This is not just one bad apple. We have an orchard of bad apples.

Dec 11, 2008 - 11:47 am 63. Robert Hurley:

Susan – You seem obsessed with a person’s need for a woman. It might relect more on your state of mind. I am not sure what relevance it has for any discusion politics. You are revealing more than you realize

Dec 11, 2008 - 11:49 am 64. Robert Hurley:

Well i was taking a break from talking to same prople at work and thought I could see what is happening in this cesspool, but I can see you are all still mired in the same fantasy. Well I have to go back to the real world now

Dec 11, 2008 - 11:52 am 65. Mikey:

Gee, this really is Change We Can Believe In, and a break from the politics of the past 8 years, since GW Bush didn’t sell any favors or play footsie with those who did.

Obama Lied, Democrats Cried.

Hey Hey Ho Ho, hey Obama, where’d you raise all that dough? Perhaps MSM will now investigate THAT.

Dec 11, 2008 - 11:58 am 66. Thinking Person:

I still find reading comments from posters who (ahem….Robert Hurley) think Obama is pure as the driven snow. They started out by letting us all know that the Attorney General said that Obama was in no way involved. Of course they were rebutted with the facts that the AG said nothing of the sort. Just at this time, Obama was not shown to be involved. Now the Obama nutters have devolved into calling this comment line a “cesspool”. I’m trying to imagine how tough it would be to defend the likes of Obama right now. I have to give credit to Mr. Hurley and others for keeping his chin up and still towing that democrat party line even in the face of this latest dem-debacle. Obama hasn’t even been sworn in yet and it’s already looking like a sleazy Presidency. Doesn’t say much for the next 4 years does it?

Dec 11, 2008 - 12:04 pm 67. John B:

And,,,, you will take notice, Mr. Hurley did not deny being a San Fran TV. God ~! I hate it when I hit so close to the mark. Typical Obamite.

Dec 11, 2008 - 12:16 pm 68. AnninCA:

Actually, Thinking Person, I think this story has optimism because the insane “halo” effect is ebbing.

At LEAST there are mainstream editorials asking the obvious. Heaven knows, I saw none in the primaries or the GE.

Dec 11, 2008 - 12:31 pm 69. Dave:

We should not be suprised by any of this. NY’s Tammany Hall fell apart in the 1960’s and just moved west to Chicago. Now they have their man going to the Whitehouse. But as long as the corrupt Chicago Dem’s keep spreadin’ the money around, they will hold onto power. Sadly, the poor people of Chicago (especially the south side) are easily placated with crumbs from these miscreants when what they need is honest government and opportunities. With these people in charge, no business in their right mind would setup shop in Illinois at this point.

As for Obama, we may never see if he stepped over the cesspool that is Chicago politics to get here or if he actually used it. That a graceless bomb thrower like Emanual is chief of staff leaves me with little hope that it is the later. We can expect the Obama DOJ to be uninterested in small issues like bribery and corruption in Dem urban politics and stick with the real issues like apologizing to terror states, global warming, and getting a playoff in the BCS.

Dec 11, 2008 - 12:36 pm 70. John B:

I think it’s best to apply Occam’s Razor here.

“All other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best.”

Cutting right through the BS,,, Obama is involved up to his neck in the slime corruption that is Chicago. He has sat through 20+ years of Rev. Wright’s sermons. He was in up to his neck with Tony Rezko, he was in up to his neck with Bill Ayers, And he’s in up to his neck with the Governor in selling his Senate seat.

“How do you tell if a politician is lying?” His lips are moving…

Dec 11, 2008 - 12:41 pm 71. WR Jonas:

I just got out of psychoanalysis where I have been since the election and I think I am slipping back into into the madhouse.
Just watching this 3 ring MSM circus is corrosive to the soul. I thought nothing could exceed the fawning, groveling ,pandering and utterly useless media performance in the campaign. But I was insanely wrong .They have to defend this mountain of moldering muck for four whole years.
God must shake his head in utter amazement at the Nation he blessed and favored.

Dec 11, 2008 - 2:40 pm 72. Scott A:

After carefull review of this governor, Arnold in California, and Senator Franks, among many more. I think any idiot can run for office and win.

Dec 11, 2008 - 4:07 pm 73. Anonymous:

“totally undeserved decent salary since all you do is swinging from obama’s nuts on message boards”

LOL….Thanks for saying that, I’m tired of that twit…

Dec 11, 2008 - 4:50 pm 74. BeJay:

Obama said today that politics is part trying to do the right thing ( paraphasing, can’t remember the exact words) and part business and he was, as he promised in the campaign, going to change this way of doing business. I don’t know for sure but that sounded a lot like CYA. IMO.

Dec 11, 2008 - 5:52 pm 75. susan:

robert, none of your post is relevant to politics, you keep on saying that obama shits pure gold. This is not relevant to politics

I already wrote there is more depth and sense reading the jonas brother message board rather than your posts

Dec 12, 2008 - 4:42 am 76. Ann:

Shoot, I’ve never even seen his halo and now I learn it’s already tainted. Oh, well.

At the height of Roman Empire a sense of their worth was measured this way as Nation Builders and acquired worldly status.” Overall that was considered a GOOD thing.

Sadly the road to Democrats Presidency could be noted as ” All the Democrats Politics today leads to Illinois.” BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Not a good thing at all.

Dec 13, 2008 - 11:54 am 78. Donnie Mac Leod:

Sorry the first Quote seems to have dropped off my post. Here we go again.

At the height of Roman Empire a sense of their worth was measured this way as Nation Builders and acquired worldly status.” “All Roads lead to Rome.” Overall that was considered a GOOD thing.

Dec 14, 2008 - 8:18 am 80. Jack:

I am so glad Obama won the election. 53% of the popular vote, 68% of electoral votes. Not a squeaker by any means. So the majority of Americans have spoken, get used to it. Obama is smarter that any Republican we’ve had in office in 100 years. But rest assured that any little thing that comes up the right wing nutjobs will be out in force to try and blame Obama for it. Because they have nothing to offer themselves, they’re backwards thinking, racist, fake christians and fake patriots.

Dec 14, 2008 - 1:30 pm 81. zanne:

Jack, Walgreens called and your RX is ready for pick up. They close at 9 p.m. so hurry. You don’t want to miss one more dosage.

Dec 14, 2008 - 5:18 pm 82. Ken Hahn:

Obama is a Chicago politician, nothing more, nothing less. Anyone who expects otherwise will be sadly disappointed. The media has covered for him so far, but now he will have the responsibility. The coverup is over and as the disaster unfolds, we will all remember how the media created, protected and supported Obama. He’s their creature and his administration will be the last nail in their coffin.

Dec 14, 2008 - 5:59 pm 83. bud:

The media worships Obama’s poop. I am so sick of Obama being off limits to any criticism from the media and intellectual brats. Obama’s friends prove to me that he is a crook. Honest men don’t hang around people like Blagojevich, Emanuel, Jackson Jr., Ayers, Rezco and company. Hussein Obama is supported by the same corrupt Chicago scumbags that put men like Gus Sex in a Volkswagen Savage and Mel Child Porn Reynolds. Do a GOOGLE search on Obama’s Chicago friends. NOBODY IN OBAMA’S CABINET IS FROM THE SOUTH!!It is time for people in NC, IN, OH, CO, VA, FL and NV to wake up. We don’t need thugs from Chicago running the country. Obama is liberal. Pro-choice.

The media worships him. People in Alabama spoke for George Wallace but that didn’t mean that he was the right choice for governor. The people in the country were upset about the stock market problem and took a chance. It is now time to limit Obama in 10. Get Nasty Pelosi’s butt out of the Speaker position.

Dec 14, 2008 - 7:25 pm 84. kabud:

After elections i told to myself: Obama is my president. I am going to give him full support now. He deserves a chance. Even though i was strongly against him in the campaign

Not anymore after what unfolded in Illinois

bad news. My wishful thinking goes by-by

OBAMAMANIA is definitely a diagnosis of self destruction our nation is going through

obamamaniacs are not normal people :

anyone in their right mind could see that OBAMA is a liar: his intonations, body lingo absolutely unsubstantiated promises total and sick incompetence

We NEED new elections. This one can not be considered legit.

I fully realize what it means: it is a crisis of tremendous proportion

But i can not go with this immoral and sick obama as a president

He has no character, no courage, no brain no decency no integrity and his presidency will be a disaster

Dec 14, 2008 - 8:42 pm 85. Horace Wells:

Since when did Obama have a halo? The only people who talked about him being the savior or the messiah were just warming up for the latest smear. The best line of the campaign was when McCain said he didn’t need a Chicago pol to lecture him about ethics. But then again, O didn’t use $150K for clothes.

Dec 14, 2008 - 9:12 pm 86. Bselyorb:

Gee, Kabud… Katrina, open borders, 800,000 (at least) dead in Iraq after attacking the country that had nothing to do with 9/11, Osama Bin Laden still at large, Taliban and Opium ever increasing in Afgan, total financial meltdown, job and housing collapse, crime on an ever-increase, health insurance fiascos… jus’ what the *&*& is your disaster supposed to look like?

Dec 16, 2008 - 5:54 pm 87. pigpen:

Why do these scandals about Republicans always come out be before the elections and the ones about Democrats come out after the elections. If look at 2006 and explain that to me.
