Jew-Hatred Is All Too Real in the West
Think those who warn of rising anti-Semitism are paranoid? Think again. (Also read Phyllis Chesler: The Tide Turns: Jews and Christians Standing Together Against Anti-Semitism)
On February 21, 130 delegates from 40 countries took part in a British government-backed conference of the Inter-parliamentary Coalition for Combating Antisemitism (ICCA). On February 22 this coalition, also known as the London Conference on Combating Antisemitism, convened by a group whose majority was non-Jewish, issued a statement acknowledging that the scourge was at its highest level in recent memory.
Amongst the provisions of the declaration issued by the conference are the following:
We note the dramatic increase in recorded anti-Semitic hate crimes and attacks targeting Jewish persons and property, and Jewish religious, educational, and communal institutions.
We are alarmed at the resurrection of the old language of prejudice and its modern manifestations — in rhetoric and political action — against Jews, Jewish belief and practice, and the state of Israel.
Solutions offered are manifold, but those that stand out are these:
Governments should take appropriate and necessary action to prevent the broadcast of anti-Semitic programs on satellite television channels, and to apply pressure on the host broadcast nation to take action to prevent the transmission of anti-Semitic programs.
(It is believed this refers to Press TV, the London-based cable station sanctioned by the Iranian government and on whose programs I have appeared, locking horns with Lauren Booth, Peter Jay, and Ghayth Armanazi.)
Governments should train police, prosecutors, and judges comprehensively. The training is essential if perpetrators of anti-Semitic hate crime are to be successfully apprehended, prosecuted, convicted, and sentenced.
In this regard it is notable that the Community Security Trust of Great Britain reports that anti-Jewish incidents were at their highest levels in recent memory during the month of January 2009, and that anti-Muslim/Islamophobic incidents were fewer despite there being over two million Muslims and only 260,000 Jews in the United Kingdom.
In recent weeks my pork-eating, shellfish-fressing, Shabbas-violating self has begun to feel very, very angry about the obsession the world has developed about those nasty Jews occupying the land of the Palestinians. My fellow journalist Nick Cohen, of Anglo-Jewish ancestry but raised a Christian, says the vilification of Israel in the past few months has made him start to feel Jewish. Putting aside the horrible Bernie Madoff, the current level of Jew-hatred is getting out of proportion.
This much is fact: Israel’s military launched a formidable attack on Gaza that resulted in many fatalities. This was tragic and anyone who does not feel saddened by these events has a heart of stone. The BBC’s Panorama footage of English-language graffiti supposedly scrawled by Israeli soldiers on the walls of houses in Gaza made one wonder if the Beeb was trying to stir up unprecedented levels of anti-Israel sentiment in Britain, but the Operation Cast Lead campaign was no doubt a bloody one. But when Zimbabwe, Colombia, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan have days of blood and gore, why is the world not calling for their censure? If the columnist Richard Ingrams thinks Israel is bound for extinction, what about the grotesque Robert Mugabe regime?

Ms. Gould, you have written a good article here. Anti semitism is the the canary in the coal mine for worse things to come. The real reason behind anti semitism is hatred of God and decency. The continued existence of the Jews is a rebuke to a sinful and vicious world. And for all those who want to equate Jesus with the modern Palestinians, let us remember that Jesus (Yeshua) was an intensely observant Jew who predicted these things when he said that “Jerusalem will be trodden underfoot by the Gentiles until the time of the Gentiles has come to an end”. Well, think about what happened in 1968.

It is true Muslims have been trying to get the United Nations (that paragon of ineptitude, bias, corruption, & organized hatred), at Durbin I & soon at Durbin II, to make Islamophobia illegal. (I admit I am not sure what it is. But then, I have trouble with the concept of anti-semitism also). So if there are laws created to specially protect Jews, Muslims could demand the same.

However, I prefer to think those atrocities came about as a result of hatreds that crossed all ethnic, religious, creed, or other bounds. I hope the color of ones skin is not a predictor of ones prejudices.
The world is full of clans. Whether we like it or not, the utopian concept of “why can’t we all just get along,” is unattainable. The differences of each clan requires then by some innate gene or other, to create animosities against other clans. Its not pretty, but it is a reality we must deal accept & try to learn to deal with more effectively. To date, mankind or womankind, has done an abysmal job of it!
We’ve come a long way, but we have an even longer way to go. Not in my lifetime & I think probably not in the lifetimes of even our five times great grandchildren.
All we can hope for is a level of peaceful co-existence. And that should be our goal. It is attainable & if people truly want peace, it can be done. It will not be a perfect solution, but it can be one that permits us to live together or next to each other in relative peace.
Now I am also a bit naive on some issues. But, this whole “the Jews killed Christ” thing, seriously puzzles me. I was raised Christian. No special attention was paid to this. I converted to Catholicism. Supposedly, Catholics push the Jews killed Christ thing. Based on the words of the Catholic Mass, that could be perceived as true. However, my position is, everyone present when Christ was sentenced, were responsible for his death sentence.
There were Jews, Arabs, various pagan followers, soon to be followers of the Christian faith, Romans (whose beliefs were multiple, non existent, inquiring of Judaism & Christianity, & a host of others. All present wanted him dead or voted for his death. It was a Roman Governor who sentenced him. Jews may have brought him forward & Jews may have had a serious part in the death sentence, but their motivations were purely & totally political. They were not religious.
So, my naive take on it is, politics killed Christ. No one else, no faith following, no other reason than pure dirty politics.
As it stands today, my most serious concern for all of us is we be allowed to live in peace & freedom with few restrictions & with as little government intervention as is possible. That is how we can all live together peacefully & prosperously. Now, will all allow that or are ulterior motives going to bring more blood & extended hatred?
Oh well, it was a nice thought, but I will not get caught up in foolish & empty utopian dreams that can never come true.
“The Jews killed Christ” thing puzzles me mainly because it’s always ranted by those who care nothing whatsoever for Christ, G-d or decency—in fact, they hate these very things.
And, outside the west, Christians are pretty well persecuted around the world too.
As Mike says, Jew hate is really hatred of G-d. So quit trying to hid behind the cross. If Jesus were to come back to earth today, the same people who call Jews Christ-killers would kill Him, for being a Zionist, uppity Yid, or whatever.

So of course there is jealousy. I want to see the west make a beacon of ISrael on how to be a nation state and succeed, but that is simplifying b/c Isreal has had its share of internal conflist as well. Much of the liberalism of Europe and the US has infected Israel at times and forced them from the inside to adopt policies that were not wise but were self deonstructive. And internal antagonism between Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews almost sounds like the same between White and black Americans. However, since Isreal has not been a total victim of cultural marxist demoralization as much of Europe and the US have, its viewes suspicioulsy or contemptuously.
There is also, if that wasnt enough , the centuries old paranoia about Jewish bankers. That their antics would be the fault of Israel itself in its grand Zionist conspiracy would be amusing in its absurdity if it werent so dangerous to Jewish and Gentile relations. The conspiracy buffs are not without much ammo at the moment but they would do well to see the liberalism that is demoralizing the West as what it is, which is product of Soviet efforts through 60’s and 70’s. I dont know why the insistence that ‘Zionists’ have anything to benefit from mass immigration and liberalism in Europe, if anything the opposite is true. I dont think Israel wants to let the European military capacity fall in the hands of rapidly reproducing mulsims seperatists living within countries of Europe. If anybody is pulling the big strings with money now its China , yet even that is not a total control situation. Of course Isreal has a special interest lobby in the US, its certainly not one that I would shun. If anything I would want that lobby itself to take a stronger stand on the joint taks we face of protecting the West as we are all under an Islamic innundation that Israel has lived with for some time.
Now is far more the time for stronger bonds with Israel and stronger voice from the Jewsish population in the Western diaspora, who as fellow Westerners are watching and experienceing the economic collapse and social strain of muslim immigration along with us gentiles. Certainly there were a lot of brilliant Jewsih advocates for liberalism in the past, and there also have been such voices for conservative and traditional positions as well. If there is a common thmeme there it is intelligence and certainly Ashkenazi Jews have the highest average IQ’s of any ethnic group on the globe. There have also been a lot of Gentile voices and supporters of liberalism and none of them were held at gunpoint by any Zionists to be such. I see promise now that Western preservationists in general are getting the message that it will be too late if we dont move now to protect what we have from the marxist legacy of liberal multicultural political code subversion of our foundations, and the waves of muslim hordes it fascilitates. Israel is at the fore front of that fight against radical Islam if any country is and we need to support Israel in that , and forge stronger bonds as this is going to be a monumental task for the West as a whole.

Nobody group deserves priority in that. I dont support hate speech laws at all , they encourage resentment and foster, then fester, violent ambitions. I dont think we need laws that protect any group, especially since whites are the biggest vicitms of inter-racial crimes and there are no such laws protecting us. Im not for the sitation in general of special ‘hate laws’, nor that we demand them but if they exist for one group they have to by law exist for all.

Yesterday, I went looking for the video on YouTube that commemorates the attack on the US on 911 with the sound track of Enya’s Only Time.
I discovered, much to my disappointment, that all the items I enjoyed, i.e., those without talk-over, had now had the sound track removed, at the request of WMG(?).
However, I DID find ONE item that had the sound track without talk over going on.
• It was from some German.
• It did not focus on heroism in the face of tragedy. All the images were of horror, fear and sadness.
There was a running text in German in a band at the bottom. As I don’t read German, I could not tell what it meant. HOWEVER….
….the last five pictograms in that running text band at the end of the video spoke volumes.

I find it an interesting ‘indicator’ that:
[1] YouTube decided to enforce the WMG copyright ban on use of Enya’s Only Time AFTER Obama became president. That stuff has been up on YouTube since 9/11.
[2] YouTube has not applied the same copyright ban to this one particular item. As all the other such video efforts I found there had the ban applied, unless there was voice-over going on over the music by Enya.

By the way some of the articles read, you’d think that the Palestinians are suffering from daily unprovoked rocket attacks. Poor Palestinians. Israel is receiving at an average ten rocket hits a day and that is with the current cease fire. Does “cease fire” mean fire fewer rockets per day?
BBC goes out of its way to portray Israel and the Jews in a bad light. How can a publicly funded organization such as this be allowed to continually spit out such hate? Since when did it become the voice of Arabia and how long will they be allowed to continue? Don’t these people have to answer to some one?

Critisicm of Israel is perfectly acceptable. However, when Israel is singled out for criticism, and held to a different standard to other countries, that is when it becomes anti-semitism.

I don’t condone violence on anyone that is innocent. Perhaps it is just way past time that some truthful introspective take place as a way to keep from repeating thousands of years of it. Thousands of Arabs, Communists, Social Democrats, Greens, anarchists and a few Nazis tried to disrupt the match. The Left and Arabs had no objection to demonstrate and use violence together with Nazis. Sweden is on the verge of capitulating to Islam and the Left is doing its best to make it as soon as possible. Swedes are not anti-Semite but there are many unsavory politicians on the Left.

No, nor is she, in this and her last article. What I object to is not the highlighting of anti-Semitism, which is a problem in the UK, but the condemnation of 6o million people on the basis of what some people say and do. Ms Gould does not do this here or in the last piece, but some of the comments did.
For every disgusting play like “Seven Jewish Children” or “My Name is Rachel Corrie”, there is a “Golda’s Balcony”, a “Ten Thousand Years” a “Whatever Happened to Weinstein”, every other play at the New End theatre, a “Diary of Anne Frank” (on stage and screen), a “Producers” and many, many more.
Perspective is what is needed.

It is high time that the british government took steps to safeguard the jewish community of the UK who have contrubuted so much in every field for the welfare of the British Nation since their re-admittance in 1655. In my initial attack by muslims I managed to punch two of the thugs very hard before they ran off, however I certainly wouldn’t wish to dirty my hands again on vermin like that, therefore that is the reason for my two faithful animal companions. I was born in Syria and had experienced first hand knowledge of the violence perpetated agains my fellow jews by the muslim arabs, that was the main reason why we managed to leave Syria clandestinely in the late 1970s and arrange to live in the UK. I never dreamt that this could have happened to us again in a civilized western democracy such as Britain. I genuinely thought that muslims who lived in the UK did so because they relished freedom and democracy, how wrong I naive I was to think that. They just want to impose their religion on other people, they do not seem to respect the religions of other faiths. I have even visited some mosques especially on fridays, I have listened to the rantings and ravings of some of their ‘Mullahs’, My G-D do they go on about the Jews, this dispicable and disgusting tirade by some of these mullah’s should be recognized for what it is, a diatribe against the whole ‘Jewish Nation’. These mosques should be closed down by the British Government, it should be seen as a clear message to these muslims who perpetuate this hatred towards the Jews and Christians that this type of behaviour will not be tollerated in this country.
And we are seeing it here in the US as well. Recently, in Ft Lauderdale, Muslim protesters told Jews to “go back to the ovens” and “Long live Hitler”. In LA, the same words were spoken at pro-Hamas rallies. Israel is being bashed on our universities by Muslim Student Unions who bring in vitriolic speakers who are anti-Israel, anti-America and anti-Jew. And the university administrators hide under their desks ignoring complaints from Jewish students who being intimidated and harassed.
At UC-Irvine, where I teach, Muslim clerics have come onto campus and glorified suicide bombers. One (Mohammed al-Asi) stated on our campus that Jews are “low-life ghetto-dwellers” and “You can take the Jew out of the ghetto but you can’t take the ghetto out of the Jew”. Meanwhile at UC-Irvine, UCLA and UC Santa Cruz, faculty members organize forums to bash Israel and the US.
This is not only about the Israel-Palestinian conflict. We are allowing a vocal minority to bring about a resurgence in anti-Semitism in our own country. It must be confronted and stopped.

Here’s reality. You hate the jews and they won’t attack you for it. You insult their religion and you live to tell about it.
The muslims are ‘victims’ and if you go publicly and make fun of Mohammad you will be executed. If you make fun of black people, you lose your job and never hear the end of it. And all the euro white people who hate Jews ignore the tens of thousands of people who they be-headed, burned and boiled for not being ‘up to par’. Also, do not ignore slavery. The reason people hate Jews is because their religion came first and it’s still flourishing without the need to extort, kill, round up and torture and provide guilt to.
America spends more time trying to take over other lands than the ‘evil jews’ and the Muslims spend over a thousand years trying to fight over land without producing one product, from their hands, that they share with the world that mother nature couldn’t have provided. Jews are self sufficient without the guilt…yet they live in more guilt.
Funny how that works. Maybe a southern white man can talk about what Christ wants when his great great grandfather raped a black woman and enslaved her brother. Please!

Muslims, Jews or Christians? Who valued life more? Who studies and contributes to saving lives more? Who made learning a higher priority?
Nobody is perfect, we are all a huge gigantic mess. But notice how Palestine was NOT attacked until they kept provoking Isreal during a PEACE treaty. Notice how they also recruited over $1b in ‘aid’ from their muslim brothers? What a coincidence, the best way to raise money is to keep getting attacked and the only way to get attacked is to provoke. Good work if you can get it, the Christians know this all to well though since they helped innovate it.
Muslims and Christians, ‘we will battle each other til the bitter end…once those evil jews are wiped out first’. What a match made in Heaven.
