Jihad Made in Britain

British culture has been coarsened and cheapened by Muslims and non-Muslims alike. But Mary Jackson argues that Muslim rejection of English tradition and its exploitation of her society's failings is uniquely dangerous.

December 6, 2007 - by Mary Jackson

Not long ago, my colleague at the New English Review observed a young Muslim woman on the London Underground:

She was wearing tight dark trousers, a trendy silver plaited belt slung about her hips, a parka with luxuriant fake fur trim pulled up over her head and a bright turquoise scarf over her face. At first glance I thought she had cut eyeholes in the scarf but on closer inspection she had folded it niqab style about her forehead and the rest hung down over her nose mouth chin and neck. The bulk of the hood held it all in place.

[...]

She got out her mobile phone.

“Yeah, but, yeah, nah, I can’t breath can I? I got this thing over my face naw, innit? …Nah, I see ya later . . . station, innit?”

It is ironic that someone un-British enough to wear a niqab is nevertheless British enough to prattle away in Estuary-English “yoof-speak”. Then again, I have often observed Muslims adopting the least attractive aspects of modern Britain, while spurning its more admirable offerings.

Rejecting Western liberty, democracy, art and free scientific enquiry, Muslims are more than willing to use Western products: mobile phones, DVDs and the internet. Often these technological innovations are used to spread an ideology directly opposed to the civilisation that made innovation possible.

My colleague’s post here about a Muslim Public Affairs Committee “training course” shows a chilling example of this. The “course” is designed to train Muslims to subvert the West and propagate a seventh century ideology. Yet it is couched in twenty-first century management speak. I have highlighted in bold the jargon which would not look out of place at a management consultants’ training course or a new-agey life coaching session:

Groundbreaking courses with modules on Strategy, Political Affairs, the Media, Islamophobia and Political Jihad will teach you how. MPACUK Training is based on practical results. You will gain an understanding of some of the most important challenges facing Muslims in Britain and the world. It will deliver successfully proven and innovative solutions to these challenges and teach you how to counter an increasingly dangerous and threatening environment.

Not English, but all too British. And what kind of music is popular with British Muslims? Purcell? Dowland? No, gangsta rap and hip hop, with its mindlessly repetitive rhythms and aggressive, deeply misogynist lyrics:

jihad3.jpg

This embrace of “the Worst of British” is particularly evident in young Muslim men, who often grant themselves a great deal of licence, while restricting, even unto death, the behaviour of “their” women. Theodore Dalrymple observed a few years ago:

Many of them [...] dot the city with their concubines-sluttish white working-class girls… This is not religion, but having one’s cake and eating it.

[...]

Islam has no improving or inhibiting effect upon the behavior of my city’s young Muslim men, who, in astonishing numbers, have taken to heroin, a habit almost unknown among their Sikh and Hindu contemporaries. The young Muslims not only take heroin but deal in it, and have adopted all the criminality attendant on the trade. [...]The young Muslims have little defense against the egotistical licentiousness they see about them and that they all too understandably take to be the summum bonum of Western life.

And what of the subjugated Muslim woman? Does she know her place, as British women once did? Is she meek and ladylike as our own women are no longer? Judge for yourself:

madeinbritain.jpg

This picture, taken shortly after the Birmingham terrorist arrests, shows women whose dress is alien, but whose boorish truculence would match that of any of our home-grown “lumpen sluts.” Is this what the suffragettes fought for?

Don’t mess with us, they say. We know our rights. For Britain, once home to the stiff-upper lip, now has a rights culture. And British Muslims scream “Islamophobia” if they don’t get their rights: the right to special food or clothing in schools, the right to be spared any kind of real or imagined offense, the right to a job – on their terms, however unreasonable – and above all the right to welfare payments, which they receive in disproportionately high numbers.

These demands, this sense of entitlement, should worry us far more than niqabs, gangsta rap, or even drugs. Welfare scrounging is not peculiar to Muslims, but Islam alone demands tribute from non-believers in the form of a special tax or jizya. This “right” is set out in the Koran, as part of the rules of jihad. Muslim scrounging is an act of jihad, and payment of benefits an act of dhimmitude.

British culture has been coarsened and cheapened by Muslims and non-Muslims alike. But Muslims’ rejection of our finest traditions and exploitation of our worst failings is driven by an ideology: jihad. Jihad made in Britain.

1. Little Much:

great article and a real eye-opener.

So how will the post-Blair admin deal with this insurgency in their country?

We see it happening in the US in the form of litigious-whoring. “The Flying Imans” come to mind, cabbies refusing to take riders who have unopened bottles of alcoholic purchases in tow, foot washing basins in public washrooms and the ridiculous list goes on.

I must say it is very clever. Using our very freedoms against us. But when does the line blur between the culture of an established nation and the rights of “guests” beligerent to its host?

We need to clearly weed this nonsense out or yes, the fight to seperate church and state that was so dearly fought will have to be battled yet again and in the no so distant future.

Here, Here Mary! No doubt that drawing attention to these contradictions will afford you the “racist” label by those that dont realize that Islam is not a race.

I think the lefties have sunk thier PC claws in to deep for Britain to save itself. Those British citizens that are able to have already seen the handwritting on the wall and are fleeing in ever larger numbers.

Perhaps you should have mentioned that the deadly convergeance of the “gangsta” culture with Islamists just might be due to the mass abandonment of orthodox Christianity in England, not only by its heirs but by its very leaders, especially in the Anglican church. One your own British prophets said it thus:

“If God is dead, then somebody will have to take his place. It will be megalomania or rotomania, the drive for power or the drive for pleasure, the lenched fist or the phallus, Hitler or hugh hefner.” -Malcolm Muggeridge

But even he would not have imagined that it would mutate into both!

Muslims scrounging for welfare payments = demanding JIZYA from the infidel.
Infidel paying disproportionate sums of welfare to the superior muslim = acts of dhimitude.

lying to welfare officers = practice of Takiya or kitman to deceive the enemy

Demanding ” Islamic” concessions from the PC cultist infidels in schools public hospitals etc etc = testing the resolve of infidels in dar al harb to defend itself

yes it is true and we had better become aware of it all before our culture is swept away in the dustbin of history.

What we are seeing is the Muslims taking advantage of the holes and weak spots in the fabric of society left by the essentially Marxist-rooted social engineering policies of Nu-Labour.

Unfortunately, this is not unique to the UK but a spreading disease in the West.

I suppose the only half-hope is that the Muslims will be corrupted by it themselves faster than they can use it to their advantage in spreading their goal of installing Sharia as a second legal system in all Western countries followed by ultimately one system again, theirs.

A 2005 BBC documentary called ‘Don’t panic, I’m Islamic’ has recently come to prominence because, among other things, one harmless group of friends filmed at paintballing has since proved to have been a terrorist cell in training. The programme’s message – to re-assure the British public that the Muslims are just regular Brits with a different religion, and no threat to anyone – was somewhat belied a month later on the 7th of July.
The basic propaganda technique of the documentary was to emphasise the British regional accents many of the Muslims had picked up, how Lord Ahmed loved mushy peas and chips, how another one was a Man U supporter.
The stated social philosophy and political outlook of the characters who appeared would have struck most people as outlandish. You couldn’t help thinking that by emphasising the specifically British cultural traits these people had acquired, the viewer would be lulled into treating their views on, for example, women’s dress or solidarity with the international umma, as comfortable, domestic and normal as well.
In fact, all it showed was how superficial many typical British characteristics are: belief in legal equality of the sexes, the rule of democracy and civil law, and respect for other cultures (unless they are destructive, aggressive and violent) and toleration (except, of course of intolerance) are what are truly British values.

Unfortunately, your observations are correct. British Muslims have turned into a generally aggressive breed that adopts the worst of the West in the name of Islam.
However, this has nothing to do with Jihad. Jihad, old girl, means a personal struggle. Self-control and willpower come under Jihad. Jihad includes keeping a “stiff upper lip”, which unfortunately is conveniently forgotten these days. It can include warfare WHEN PROVOKED (read any reliable Islamic text, there are rules), but the importance of the personal struggle over the recently traditionalized “warfare” definition is nowhere better shown than in the hadith, where upon returning after a battle to the city, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that the minor jihad [the battle] had ended and the major one [all the personal struggles of daily life] had resumed.

So many problems could be solved in both America and Britain if benefits were contingent upon the father being identified and paying his share, rather than the opposite. Less time to foment radicalism, commit crime, record uninspired songs, or otherwise scarf up the taxpayer’s largess.
