Could be that the focus is on other things because he actually got the job this time - the <em>manga</em> thing might get him attention (esp. overseas, where, Foreign Minister Aso insisted, <em>manga</em> and <em>anime</em> were Japan's bst-known products), but it's probably not a big confidence builder for an ailing ruling party coming into a general election. As far as I can tell, he was spotted reading <em>Rozen Maiden</em> in an airport a couple of years back and, when asked about it by reporters, said he was a big fan. I must admit that I myself have never read it. Something about 14 female spirits leading a high school boy back to engagement in the real world after a study-induced nervous breakdown, I hear.
