Most of the Libertarians I’ve met have been uncool, or only mildly cool. I’m also not sure Romney is your Libertarian hero, but I will admit he looks like a TV president.

Romney would have been the compromise candidate, but the liberals refused to compromise. They wanted McCain. And they got what they deserved. Defeat and ignominy.

And I’ve tried to create a situation where Libertarians could be given more respect. Unfortunately, it requires Libertarians to join up with Standard aka Social Conservatives to take the party back from the RINOs. And Libertarians seem to have a problem with classist bigotry…Maybe once they get over that, then they can play a much larger role in determining the course of the Party.

Your article could have been written in 1994; or 1964. The GOP has been a group of shameless cowards for decades, perfectly content to be the straight-man to the Democrats’ attacks. Even now (3/9/09) we see Boehner and all the rest of the Party of Wimps talk about ‘…the American people want us to work together…’. How do you imagine they can change?

Not a chance. Not with the Party of Cowardice. BTW, how many of the Republicans or Libertarians (or Democrats) are combat veterans? huh? Patriots? give me a break.

Question: No offense to Bobby Jindal, Rush Limbaugh et al, but where are the attractive, burly republican males in the party a la Clint Eastwood? Why do we have to choose the lesser of the evils. You know when people think Obama is attractive and a “rock star” something is very wrong. I personally think it is because we have let the religious right dictate our candidates, Romney was THE perfect candidate and we let Huckabee and McCain destroy him. Shame on us.
It’s time we were the cool party, which we are have you met an uncool Libertarian? It’s time Libertarians were let in from the cold and given the respect they deserve, we need to be the party that stays out of people’s business as well as out of their pocket books! Leave gay people alone and wait to talk about abortion until we are in power again! Then we have a case, Reagan proved that if it makes sense the majority will vote for you.

Unfortunately, this country only works for the bad guys these days, so let’s be the bad guys proudly.

If religious extremists kill 3,000 innocent Americans in the name of your religion, suddenly yours is the true religion of peace, and the entire country must honor Ramadan.

If you buy houses you can’t pay for, the government will help you pay.

If you invade our country illegally, you are moved to the front of the line for handouts, and lawyers will donate their time to defend you, even though you’re criminals.

If you don’t work, the government will give you tax rebate checks despite your not paying taxes, food stamps for free food, and create programs to try to help you get free college.

If you work hard, pay your mortgage and other bills, pay your incredibly high taxes, you are the enemy in America – a “winner of life’s lottery” – you are the enemy…the bad guy.

If you live a bizarre or disgusting lifestyle, no matter how hurtful to yourself or others, you are encouraged to demand that everyone condone all of your activities, and programs will be set up to teach them to children in school. However, Christian tenets, the same ones this country was founded on, are deamed hateful and dangerous.

If we’re gonna be labeled the bad guys, let’s be the bad guys!

Ok I’m way late, but how long are the good guys willing to wait until the children grow up and see the light? How many people learn? Please living in Europe, there are a lot of people who think like conservatives, but everything is so twisted here, they just care about joining two ends, and aren’t up to the political fight…it’s almost hopeless…be very careful…I do believe that there is righteous anger, the problem is using it wisely, and convincingly. I believe that is the key, but it’s going to be a long haul. i keep trying here, a lot of people are starting to understand better by my example; generous without being foolish about it, and speaking out my views, without trying to be too self righteous.
