I think for respect for the President, he as a leader should respect the people that voted for him.He should make sure the people in need of financial assistance, especially the middle class to make mortgage payments and pay their bills, have a means of a way to do so, however I don't think that socialistic values should acceed capitalism.

If Obama wins, it will be due to the poor campaign than McCain has run. His shifting tactics/policies/goals combined with his 'shoot from the hip' approach demonstrates he is not the right person to lead America in these times.
His campaign has been savaged from the beginning showing his on-going weakness. McCain is a great American who should have stopped running after 2004. He is just doesn't have it any longer. It is sad to watch a hero in this position.

proud elitist - No, I haven't spawned anything. I'm not a fish. I DO have two daughters. They're both truly beautiful. They are happy, well-adjusted, well-behaved children. They are 2.5 years apart, and are best friends. People love to have my children come over, because their kids leave off the video games and go play outside, or make believe, or draw, or... you get the picture. They are old-fashioned kids, and everyone always, always compliments me on them.

They are this way, because I'm old-fashioned. I provide discipline, guidance, motivation, and lots and lots of love. We aren't rich, but my kids are the happiest around.

My ex and I fought all the time. The fights were always about power. She'd swallowed all this nonsense, and insisted on being in control. Of course, our finances were a mess, as a result of her mismanagement. I've, on the other hand, have always been very good at managing my money, except when I've sometimes been generous to a fault.

When I went blind from my diabetes, my wife kicked me out, as I couldn't support her anymore. I have a bit of my vision back, and so am minimally functional. Interestingly, after a few years, my ex now has more respect for me now than she ever did when we were married. She has been forced to make her own money, and balance her own budget. Changed her view some.

I live a mile away, to be close to my kids and provide them with the father they need. My ex sees this, and greatly appreciates the support and reliability. It provides her endless confidence and security.

I've never pursued another relationship. We were together 17 years, and I married for life. This prevents any worry on her part, as she knows I'm completely devoted to the welfare of my kids above all else. I recently lent her $1,000 (which is a lot for a guy who draws SSDI) to help her get a new car after the old one died. It's telling that she asked me for the loan.

So, call me sexist if you want, but I always believed in taking care of, and protecting my woman. I never cussed at her. I always held doors and chairs for her. I've always been generous in time, money, and spirit. I also did more than my share of chores and raising the kids. A woman needs emotional security, and financial security to be happy. I've always tried my best to provide that. What good is a man who won't do these things for his woman?

"Joe the Plumber" has NO worries. With the economy today, no one can afford "Joe's Rates". Thus he will not make 250 thousand dollars. Case settled.

If I understand the advice, Ms. Rubin thinks that Mr. Obama needs to do a better job of hiding who he is and disguising what he is about.

Actually, I doubt the average American voter really pays much attention to any of this. He looks calm, cool, and confident. He looks young and athletic. He is tall and handsome. What more do we need to know.

Oh, yes. He knows how to deflect questions brilliantly. That's the ball game.

As for the specific advice Ms. Rubin offers, it might be more helpful to Mr. McCain. He should point out:

First, Obama is making promises to the middle class that he knows he cannot fulfill. He thinks the government can do what is now failing all over the world -- continue to borrow money to spend foolishly. The country needs a return to basic values: work that produces something of value, not flashy tricks with money. Obama doesn't know anything about such work -- he never did any. He's a politician. I'm not. He will say anything to win, I won't.

Second, perhaps he will say he will appoint Colin Powell and Robert Rubin -- to assure voters that he will not be a radical leftist with a Marxist approach to economics. But Colin Powell was too naive to know when he was being flim-flammed by false intelligence data. He knows more than Obama, but not enough to be Secretary of State in these trying times. Robert Rubin was in place when the errors were made which have led to the current crisis around the world.

Third, he may try to brush off his relationship with Bill Ayers and Acorn, the Obama-funded group which is currently engaged in fraud -- registering the names of voters who do not exist so that his vote total may assure his victory. He might brush off the question, or say he hardly knows these people and organizations, but that will be a lie. An American terrorist and his terrorist wife helped Obama get his first political office. A fellow terrorist and member of the Weather Underground started ACORN, which has had a close and lengthy relationship with Obama. He is not be trusted. He lies. He covers up. He can say he didn't know the views of the minister after twenty years of listening to his sermons; he can disavow the views and finally dump the minister. But after doing so, can he be trusted? If he dumps his minister after 20 years, what will he do to you after your 20 seconds in the voting booth?

Fourth, he can say he understands the middle class, but he is not of the middle class. He is a wealthy Harvard graduate, a career politician, with a wife who makes several times as much money as any middle-class wage earner. These are rich people. Don't let them kid you.

Finally, he can even suggest he will not work closely with the Democratic-controlled Congress. That might be true, perhaps he will just expect them to rubber stamp his leftist agenda. If you vote for Obama, and you should not, then you must vote for Republicans for every other office. The nation is at risk in the hands of this inexperienced leftist.

Personally, I think Democrats would be wiser to vote for Democrats below and a Republican above. Let the career politicians stay in Congress, and let a career military officer and a state governor run the country. We know we don't have all the answers. He doesn't.

Wow, Marc @ 79, extremely insightful. I'm sure your wife or girlfriend is so goshdarn lucky to have you with such sexism oozing out of your pores.

That’s what happens when the women handle the bills, instead of the men doing that job. Men are supposed to protect their women, including from the stress of paying the danged bills, but women handle the money in 95% of households.

My point is that women are going to decide this election, and I suspect they’ll be making the wrong choice. They’ll be voting for the chicken in every pot promise, and so will screw the country and themselves.

Oh, Teh Stoopid.

Please tell me you haven't spawned anything. Please.

The ENQUIRER exclusively reports a "sex pervert" was Sen. Barack Obama's longtime mentor and "father figure".

For seven years, the presidential candidate had a "father-son" relationship with Frank Marshall Davis, who has confessed to having sex with children, sadomasochism, bondage and practicing a wide array of deviant sexual activities.

In his 1995 memoir Dreams from My Father, Obama identifies his childhood mentor only as "Frank," but Obama insiders later confirmed he was referring to Davis, a journalist and poet who was a pal of Obama's maternal grandfather, Stanley Dunham.

Frank Marshall Davis admitted in his private papers that he had secretly authored a hard-core pornographic autobiography called Sex Rebel: Black, published in 1968. The author of the book - a copy of which was been obtained by The ENQUIRER - is listed as "Bob Greene." Davis later confessed to its authorship after a reader noticed similarities in style and phraseology between that book and Davis' poetry.

Davis confessed: "I could not truthfully deny that this book, which came out in 1968 as a Greenleaf Classic, was mine."

The appalling catalog of admitted real-life decadence is laced with perverted sexual activity, bisexuality, rape - and the seduction of children.

"Davis' admission he wrote this disturbing book exposes Obama's mentor as living a secret double life - and as a sexual pervert," disclosed a source.

In his shocking tell-all, Davis admits to seducing a thirteen year-old girl, voyeurism, exhibitionism, bisexuality, rape and sadomasochism.

Barack, called "Barry" as a child, was a mere ten year old when he first met the family friend who lead a secret double life.

Obama's grandfather introduced Barry and Davis because he believed it would help his alienated grandson identify with being of mixed heritage because Barack's mother, Ann, was a white American while his father, Barack Sr.black Kenyan.

Obama's parents separated and then divorced when Barack was only 2. Ann remarried and took Barack to live with her and new husband Lolo Soetoro in Indonesia - but Barack was later sent to live with his white grandparents in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Barack describes how Frank Davis had a lasting effect on him and became a father figure over the seven years they knew one another on the tropical island.

In Dreams from My Father, Obama wrote: "He would read us poetry whenever we stopped by his house, sharing whiskey with Gramps out of an emptied jelly jar.

"As the night wore on, the two of them would solicit my help in composing dirty limericks."

Obama described being counseled by Frank often and recalled drinking whiskey with him.

Since Frank Davis has been identified as the author of Sex Rebel: Black, Obama has been extremely secretive about the true nature of his experience with the self-admitted deviant.

Palin blasts Obama for opposing legal protections for infant abortion survivors
CNA ^ | October 14, 2008

Posted on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 11:53:00 by NYer

Gov. Sarah Palin

Johnstown, Oct 14, 2008 / 06:15 am (CNA).- Republican vice-presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin, in a speech at a Saturday rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has attacked what she called Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama’s “extreme and troubling” stand on abortion. Palin argued that there are few issues more important than who is protected under law and insisted that everyone “belongs in the circle of protection.”

“As defenders of the culture of life, John McCain and I believe in the goodness and potential of every innocent life,” Gov. Palin began. “I believe the truest measure of any society is how it treats those who are least able to defend and speak for themselves. And who is more vulnerable, or more innocent, than a child?”

“Every innocent life matters,” she continued. “Everyone belongs in the circle of protection. Every child has something to contribute to the world, if we give them that chance. There are the world’s standards of perfection … and then there are God’s, and these are the final measure. Every child is beautiful before God, and dear to Him for their own sake.”

Palin recalled how she greeted the news that her youngest son Trig would have “special needs” before turning to an attack upon Sen. Obama.

“At first I was scared, and Todd and I had to ask for strength and understanding. But I can tell you a few things I’ve learned already. … As for our beautiful baby boy, for Todd and me, he is only more precious because he is vulnerable. In some ways, I think we stand to learn more from him than he does from us. When we hold Trig and care for him, we don’t feel scared anymore. We feel blessed,” Palin said.

“It’s hard to think of many issues that could possibly be more important than who is protected in law and who isn’t – who is granted life and who is denied it. So when our opponent, Senator Obama, speaks about questions of life, I listen very carefully.”

Palin attacked Obama’s remarks he made in a Johnstown appearance about not wanting his daughters “punished with a baby.”

“It’s about time we called him on it,” she said, charging that the Democratic presidential candidate is “vague and evasive” on the subject.

Palin argued that Obama has voted against bills to end partial-birth abortion, citing Democratic Sen. Patrick Moynihan’s description of the procedure as “too close to infanticide.”

She then noted Obama’s Illinois Senate votes against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act (BAIPA), charging:

“Barack Obama wouldn’t even stand up for the rights of infants born alive during an abortion. These infants – often babies with special needs – are simply left to die. “

She also stated that Obama had misrepresented his record on BAIPA.

“In short, Senator Obama is a politician who has long since left behind even the middle ground on the issue of life. He has sided with those who won’t even protect a child born alive,” Palin asserted.

Noting that there are many concerns at issue in the election, Palin commented:

“It’s easy to forget even as deep and abiding a concern as the right to life. And it seems our opponent hopes that you will forget. Like so much else in his agenda, he hopes you won’t notice how radical his ideas and record are until it’s too late.”

She claimed that Obama would support “activist courts” that will “continue to smother the open and democratic debate we need on this issue, at both the state and federal level.”

Earlier that week, in a Thursday interview with radio show host Laura Ingraham, Palin called Obama’s position on the Illinois BAIPA “absolutely atrocious” and “appalling,” Cybercast News Service says.

“I wish I had more time to explain to people what Barack Obama’s position has been on this. Because I think, Laura, it has been missing out there in the discussion, in the debate, about the choices that they have in candidates on November 4th.”

“I think that if more Americans could understand how absolutely extreme that position is, there would be a heck of a lot more outrage than we already see,” she continued.

Palin also attacked Obama’s BAIPA position while speaking at a town hall meeting in Waukesha, Wisconsin on Thursday.

“What I don't find compassionate is Barack Obama's vote, as an Illinois senator, when three times he had the chance to vote to be able to provide health care for a child who was born alive as a result of a botched abortion,” she said.

Gov.

TimM, Obama does'nt seem to know anything except that he wants to be president. For reasons listed above this race has effectively been over, since the primaries split the democratic party.
