It doesn’t matter, as long as the Republicans are not in power. We just wanted to kick them out big time, mission accomplished. So the Obamamania is expected to die down as we go about the real work of fixing the colossal mess the Republicans left us.

Obamamania was like a drunken binge. It was immature and ill-advised, though it seemed like a good idea at the time. It sure was a lot of fun while it lasted. It seemed like a cool thing to do. It was so easy to get caught up in it because everyone else at the party was doing it. All the “cool” people were doing it.

Now the price to pay is a 4-year-long hangover.

All of this is vastly premature. To the ideologues, it is policy that matter. And right now we don’t know what Obama will do with his one party rule in the executive and both houses.

If he quickly advances ultra left wing abortion “rights” legislation, shuts down Guantanamo and brings the terrorist home for full protection, and in the first 90 days advances and signs off on the Shamnesty deal Harry Reid has tried to blast through the Senate without even discussion, then all of those who thought of Obama as a a pragmatic centrist looking for eight years will be eating egg.

Not sure which man will emerge but based on his vastly liberal voting record and defense of late term abortions, I don’t expect him to temper this early. In fact I would expect the complete opposite.

And if the Democrat dream of Shamnesty is realized, that means that 20 million or perhaps something closer to 30 million illegal aliens will change the political landscape forever. And of course their “family” will quickly escalate those figures to well over 60 million thus ensuring that America is headed to a full blown socialist state where “rights” mean housing, health care, schooling and Social Security benefits for grandma who has made her way up from Mexico City.

The Republic will be dead and the Democrat majority will remain in power for years to come arguing over who’s rights are next to approve.

Everyone then looking back on this premature chatter and mumbling centrist will look idiotic.
The Republic will be dead.

Keep in mind also that 85% of those responsible for his successful campaign haven’t looked at a newspaper or thought about the news since the day after the election. So I don’t see that they are truly “available” for some kind of kickback against BHO or “holding his feet to the fire”.

Come on, dude, back up your claim. obama ain’t even pres yet and you’re saying he’s the “first real President” in generations? What’s he done to prove that he’ll be that? What’s he done to prove that he’s capable?
And who was the last real President before him? Kennedy? Cuban Missle Crisis? FDR? WWII, the Holocaust, depression? Jimmy Carter? Iran hostages, making Arafat a “politician” instead of a pariah, etc? Bill Clinton? Terrorist attacks with no response, Internet bubble bursting, Infitada in Israel?
