Obama’s Hate Crime Double Standard
There is no place for exceptions based on friendship or politics when it comes to fighting hate.
In the wake of the horrific shooting at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the country’s voice has been united in condemning such cowardly acts of hatred. The shooting, as stated by the national director for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), “is a very sad and tragic event which reminds us, as the Museum itself does every day, in the starkest way, where the spread of hatred can lead.” President Obama rightly added, “[w]e must remain vigilant against anti-Semitism and prejudice in all its forms.”
Unfortunately, the president must possess a different meaning of “vigilance” and “all its forms” than most Americans do.
Take, for example, the president’s recent failure to denounce the anti-Semitic rant by his long-term spiritual advisor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright. On the day before the shooting, a reporter in Hampton Roads, Virginia, recorded Reverend Wright making numerous anti-Semitic comments, including attacks on the president’s closest advisors, Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod. Reverend Wright blamed “them Jews” for not letting President Obama speak with him. He further asserted that President Obama had compromised his beliefs and the “fiber of his being” for the “Jewish vote” and Jewish lobbying groups.
Hate speech groups immediately denounced Reverend Wright’s remarks. The director for the Chicago chapter of the ADL said that Reverend Wright’s remarks were “classic anti-Semitism in its most vile form.” Likewise, the associate director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism said, “Yesterday’s events at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum demonstrate that hateful speech can spiral into tragedy and thus cannot go unanswered. Words have consequences, and Reverend Wright has contributed to a dangerous culture of anti-Semitism.”
Yet, when the White House was asked to comment on Reverend Wright’s remarks — on the same day President Obama asked for vigilance — the president gave no comment or denunciation.
Does vigilance not apply to the president’s long-term spiritual advisor? Are his words any less inflammatory or dangerous than the hate-filled words of the neo-Nazi killer? The president’s silence is deafening.
President Obama also was silent three weeks ago when authorities uncovered a plot by four jailhouse Muslim converts to blow up a synagogue in New York City. According to authorities, the four men attempted to acquire plastic explosives and a stinger missile for the sole purpose of killing Jews. There is no doubt that the hate motivating these four Muslim converts is no different or less dangerous than the hate of a neo-Nazi. However, unlike the Holocaust Museum killing, neither the president nor his administration called for vigilance against Islamic extremism.
Why not?

Like it or not, there are double standards on bigotry. Especially in America. Obama’s church was clearly a black nationalist church. Which is an ideology that is no different than white supremicism. Yet noone would really bring up that fact during the presidential campaign, McCain especially. And hispanic nationalist organizations such as La Raza enjoy mainstream acceptance and are even partnered with fortune 500 corporations in the name of “working with the hispanic community”… It would be like cooperating with the Klan and claiming it’s no big deal since they’re just trying to work with the white community. It’s totally absurd. And if Deep South white politicians were giving such breaks to the KKK like the Obama administration has given to club wielding members of the black panthers it would have been universally denounced as a disgusting display of a “good old boys” back scratching. What can I say, you get what you vote for. Obama’s radical church and circle of friends should have been a clear sign to all Americans that Obama and crew were extremists. But due to moronic political correctness everyone just ignored it except the right wing blogosphere.

If one looks at the numbers and makes a few assumptions one can probably quite safely say that our minority populations are committing at least 80 % of the violence and murders in this country …… for example it states in table 42 of the BoJ home page that blacks have committed 59.3 % of ALL felony murders committed in the U.S. since 1976. If hispanic’s are committing murders at just the rate at which they are represented in the general population one gets close to 75 % of all murders. Then if you include the group ” other ” your right at 80 %.
So you tell me if enforced fairly who should these hate crime laws be biting on the ass in much greater numbers than they are

Several years ago, on one of my internet safaris, I came across the US Department of Justice’s web site. In looking over the murder statistics, I discovered that a white person had a 3-4 times the probability of being murdered by a black person than a black person had of being murdered by a white person. This was a straight murder to murder comparison, unadjusted for the disparity in the size of the groups in the overall population.
I’m sure Attorney General Holder will eventually discover this also.

I care about black on white crime.

President Obama seems to lack a universal standard of justice — which amounts to no standard at all.

Under questioning, Attorney Gen. Holder was surprisingly forthright in admitting that the hate bill is not intended to protect everyone, or even the majority. He said only historically oppressed minorities were to benefit. This means Jews, blacks, homosexuals, women, etc. Holder made it clear that if a white Christian male, including a serviceman or police officer, was the victim of a violent hate crime by any minority he would have to find redress from traditional law. He could not avail himself of the triple penalties and rapid government/justice system response given a protected minority.

Hate crime legislation has always bothered me for two reasons:
1. I’m a halfy. I’m half Chinese, Half White, neither of them are considered “minorities” too much now are we? Mainly because we don’t think of ourselves as being “oppressed.” Even though historically Chinese were less than slaves. We weren’t even Property! O.O!
Yet I have a feeling that hate crime legislation wouldn’t help a Chinese or “Asian” any more than it would a “white” person.
2. The whole idea that we’re making special laws based on WHY someone did something. Not what they did, oh no, but what the frack they’re thinking when they do the evil deed! O.O!
