Hope is giving people HOPE for the future. Obama has done exactly the opposite. He has come through on one campaign promise though…I’m sure hoping for a butt load of CHANGE from his current path.

I guess in the meantime the thinking people will HOPE for CHANGE. You can keep your blinders on and keep on reeling off those liberal talking points (that haven’t changed even with NoKorea, the deepening recession, unemployment at 9% and rising and a Muslim extremist killing a US soldier outside of a recruitment center).

Apparently the concept of a “cap” is “over your head”, so to speak.

There is no reverse racism. It’s just racism. Afirmative Action may have had it’s place in history. But 50+ years later, these antiquated policies just cause bitterness and resentment. It’s not about the color of your skin, it’s disliking someone (black or white) because they don’t play by the same rules and get special treatement because of the color of their skin. Okay, Now replace the word Obama and Bush. What do you get? Exactly what the media was doing the previous 8 years. Torture, two wars, illegal wire-tapping, a stock market crash and a near global financial disaster. Let’s not talk about any of those things, only the preselected questions.

Perhaps your choice of news outlet was focused on certain aspects of the campaign that were less important to others. Racism was a problem in the election, but Obama was popular enough to overcome that handicap. Most estimates put the impact of racism at less than 15% of voters.

Only in your mind, you deep thinker. Obama has, in reality, brought hope to an entire generation of Americans (and others) of all colors, who had begun to doubt the commitment of America to her deepest values. Any setback in race relations can be laid at the feet of the folks who have been fanning the flames of religious and ethnic hatred from the far right. There is nothing Obama has done to justify your apparent disdain, except to acknowledge his heritage. How is he the racist?

It seems much more plausible that the GOP would like to take race relations back 40 years by playing petty politics with a Supreme Court nomination. This effort will fail, because the younger generations truly have a completely different perspective on race. The white racist culture that dominates the GOP is simply not a long-term winner.
