I’ve gotten on a few times when it let me use low quality on my laptop and no interim buffering followed but several other times I couldn’t get on (not available at this time message.) I agree that this would be a terrific addition to DirecTV; I’ll alert them. I hope I’ll be able to see more when the glitches are corrected. Is there a straightforward way of selecting quality without the Roger Simon entrance video? I’ve seen it too often.

Okay got it to work at home on the non-portable Firefox 3.0 on Windows XP. Nowhere else though. I agree the Java Client seems a crappy choice.

I am having a really good time watching/listening to PJTV tonight while I work, although there is a lot of buffering, interruptions and what amounts to repeats or stuttering (or as I call it, a glitch in the matrix) and some slowness overall on my laptop (not using the work laptop for PJTV). Using WinXP and Firefox with high-speed cable internet.

Content-wise, it’s great to see the faces I read all the time. So far I have subscribed for basic. I’m enjoying most of the participants but not fond of Peter Robinson. Odd because I do like his writings. Jennifer Rubin is my favorite so far (as well as all the MN VRWC bloggers).

This is disappointing – I was ready to sign up, but the experience on Safari is terrible. Unsynchronized audio, crashed my browser, etc…

Why go for a Java-based video solution when everyone in the web-video space has been so successfully using Flash? Even the Silverlight-based Olympics was vastly superior to this… and that left a lot to be desired.

Boo… it doesn’t work on my Firefox portable. (I’m using the “Portable Aps” version) Nor does it seem to work on my jobs Internet Exploder. Though they haven’t updated it in a while which is probably why. I’ll try on my Windows full Firefox and my Mac’s Safari when I get home. So far 0 for 2.

It’s working perfectly on linux for me, I don’t know why Doug and WcGreen are having problems. I’m using 64 bit Firefox and didn’t have to download any players or change setting to view.

Well, it worked last week on a Mac with both Safari, and Camino browsers. This week-end, no luck any which way. I tried all three versions at one point or another, and have a high speed internet connection — it gets stuck every time while loading the video. Perhaps due to an unexpectedly high volume of viewers? Anyway, it’s too bad. I was looking forward to the PJM take on the convention. I’ll keep trying in the hope it gets fixed in time.
