PalinTracker: Quoting Reagan, a Speaking Gig, an eBay Auction

A round-up of activity in the Sarah Palin camp. (First in a new ongoing PJM series)

September 17, 2009 - by Barbara Curtis

September 8: Palin publishes “Obama and the Bureaucratization of Health Care” in the Wall Street Journal:

Writing in the New York Times last month, President Barack Obama asked that Americans “talk with one another, and not over one another” as our health-care debate moves forward.

I couldn’t agree more. Let’s engage the other side’s arguments, and let’s allow Americans to decide for themselves whether the Democrats’ health-care proposals should become governing law.

Some 45 years ago Ronald Reagan said that “no one in this country should be denied medical care because of a lack of funds.” Each of us knows that we have an obligation to care for the old, the young and the sick. We stand strongest when we stand with the weakest among us.

September 10: Three hours after Obama’s health care address to Congress, Palin posts a response on Facebook:

After all the rhetoric is put aside, one principle ran through President Obama’s speech tonight: that increased government involvement in health care can solve its problems.

Many Americans fundamentally disagree with this idea. We know from long experience that the creation of a massive new bureaucracy will not provide us with “more stability and security,” but just the opposite. It’s hard to believe the President when he says that this time he and his team of bureaucrats have finally figured out how to do things right if only we’ll take them at their word.

September 11: Palin posts a Facebook tribute: “We Are All Americans.”

September 15: Palin signs with the Washington Speakers Bureau:

Known for the meteoric rise that captured the hearts and minds of a global audience, Sarah Palin is a groundbreaker who speaks on her vision for energy independence, national security, fiscal responsibility, health care and small government.

Her first commercial speaking engagement will be September 23 in Hong Kong to the CLSA Investors Forum, a well-known annual conference of global investment managers.

Right now on eBay, you can bid on a “Private Dinner for Five with Sarah Palin,” with 100 percent of the proceeds going to benefit Wounded Warriors. Bidding ends September 18 at 5:27 PDT, and stands this morning at $39,702.99.

I love Gov. Palin. Most of my friends here in NYC are of the rabid, lunatic Left, as such there’s no one among them I can tell how much I admire the former Governor of Alaska. So here I am, anonymous as can be on Pajamas Media, letting loose: I would love to see this woman as our next President, yee-haw!

Sep 17, 2009 - 1:32 am 2. Gary Ogletree:

Wait, wait. I thought she was done, toast. Could it be that the liberal media got it wrong? This can’t be happening. And isn’t Hong Kong some backwater in a forgettable Third World country? No big deal, I’m sure. This is the last we will hear about it.

Sep 17, 2009 - 2:55 am 3. brian:

If she wants it, she’ll have it.
Can you even imagine how sick and dog tired of Obama this country will be in ‘12? Oh my God. With his mug on tv everywhere ALL. THE. TIME.

And, oh yeah, Democratic idiots telling us for the next 3 years how RACIST we all are for disagreeing with Obama.

This country will be so wanting someone new who can put a sentence together, it won’t even be funny.

Sep 17, 2009 - 3:20 am 4. Piccard:

I hear Obama is a Star Trek fan.

We are the BORG.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
You will be assimilated into the socialist collective.
Your health and care now belong to us.
Resistance is futile!
Yes we can!

Obama will carry 100% of the Black vote in 2012 and probably 75% of the Hispanic, these people don’t know any other way of voting except to just pull the lever for the straight dem ticket. The question is: “Can Obama pull it off without Acorn hustling voter fraud in the ghetto.” I sincerely hope to see a red tide sweeping over America before 2012. That’s the ‘hope-n-change’ I’m looking for.

Sarah Palin on the ticket for a top spot would be a welcome sight.

Up thread at #3, Brian asks; “Can you even imagine how sick and dog tired of Obama this country will be in ‘12?”. Brian, many of us are already there.

Sep 17, 2009 - 5:14 am 6. Dave:

Assimilate now… resistance is futile..

back then, ST was MOCKING the loony left, reminding the world of the human toll of the Marxist idea, the destruction of individuality and creativity and PRODUCTIVITY that comes in a collective world… when government (the State) is everything, does everything, a human being is not much more than a statistic.. Stalin himself once said that an individual person dying is a tragedy, but a million people dying is a statistic… and he deliberately killed millions while building his marxist paradise…

we would do well to remember that the 20th century gave us two facts–

one, that essentially Godless societies in the grip of a small number of infinitely powerful leaders can very easily develop, very quickly, and–

two, that once this sort of society exists, it INEVITABLY uses its power to KILL MILLIONS. I believe the full death toll of marxism in the 20th century is over 100 million. Even if you embrace a more conservative number, it is still larger than the population of the entire Roman empire at its height.

Marxism and its bastard children, Fascism (also Roman), Statism, Communism, Socialism (which Marx identified as only a step toward communism), all of them spring from the concepts of Marx. No God, equal outcomes for all, and wealth is essentially corrupting.

Obama is taking all the same steps as fascists throughout history. HE’s got an iron grip on many of the largest companies in America, he’s weakening his opposition as best he can and has plans to gut them by destroying their public communications (internet shutdowns in ‘emergencies’, a new ‘fairness doctrine’ to stop Limbaugh and his like, his attempt to get census into the white house to reorganize the electoral map for Democrat party dominance, these are only a few). He’s removing transparency and accountability in govt by bypassing congress in favor of unelected czars whose activities are unknown to the public. And he’s using words like ‘moral’ to describe essentially collectivist policies, as in everyone pays for everyone else’s everything…

Resistance, though, is not futile, not yet. :-)

JR Dogman: You’re not alone. I’m a very big Sarah Palin fan, too, but am surrounded by liberals. There must be a lot of us out there. This bodes very well for Governor Palin. Yes!

Sep 17, 2009 - 5:33 am 8. Anonymous:

No Dogman you are not alone; I’m a Palin fan too and I’m surrounded by liberals too. They laughed with joy when she resigned. Resigning was a brilliant move for her to do.
Now you see liberals wanting her to be the nominee in ‘12. I mean you can’t make up how stupid they are. They are so happily detached from reality it’s stunning.

After we get through being called RACISTS!! for 3 years, surely the country will rush to re-elect him.

Sep 17, 2009 - 5:44 am 9. Sean O'Donnell:

Go Sarah ! Keep defending Liberty !

Sep 17, 2009 - 5:47 am 10. David S:

Please work hard to keep Sarah on the front page. She is the best gift the left has received in a generation. Could you have her run again in 2016 also? Thanks!

Peace.

Sep 17, 2009 - 5:47 am 11. Simple fellow:

Dear Ms. Curtis,

My colleagues (who I know are bright, worldy attorneys, as am I) think Mrs. Palin is an idiot. I have not been able to reach that conclusion from her public appearences and statements. Perhaps I am an idiot as well which is why I dont see it. But I fear the detractors are driven by emotion and not reason. (Frankly, I think there is an undercurrent of jealousy, – successful, attractive, handsome spouse, loving family – things many desire, but don’t have).

Nonetheless, I appreciate your efforts on this on-going series especially since you must also be somewhat busy with twelve children and writing books…wow!

Sep 17, 2009 - 5:48 am 12. brian:

I don’t know what happened to my last post, but I just wanted to say that no Dogman, you’re definately not alone.
The liberals that I know are detached from reality. We’re going to take being called RACIST!! for 3 years because we’re such a bad country then we’ll go right ahead and re-elected this joke for 4 more years.

They were so happy when Palin resigned; now it’s turned out her resigning was a brilliant move. And they want her to be the nominee b/c they think she can’t win. They’re…crazy.

They’re going to get a rude awakening.

Sep 17, 2009 - 5:58 am 13. arhooley:

Heh, I wish I were close enough to Sarah Palin to have a tip. I’ll be following this tracker eagerly; can’t wait to hear about the results of her speech in Hong Kong. It will also be fun in a way to read her leftist detractors, who will universally claim that her speech was written by her corporate puppet-masters. Meanwhile, that plaintive wail you hear is the same people lamenting that she ever left Alaska.

Yet another incredibly absurd statement on Pajamas Media.
I figure 3/4s of potential Palin voters will vote for her because they remind them of the Stepford wife next door they have sexual fantasies about.

Sep 17, 2009 - 6:44 am 15. Sallie:

I totally agree, Obama wil carry 100% of the blacks, 75% Hispanic. We all know the reason. Pull that lever for welfare/free anything on other’s backs.

We like Palin. At least she is truthful, down to earth and not afraid of being called racists. I don’t care if you like her or not.

I dont’ think she will run for president. However, if not for Palin , McCain would have lost by muchmuch more…We like Palin.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this, Ms Curtis and Pajamas Media! I’ve been wondering how to keep track of what Sarah’s been up to. If this is a regular feature, now I have a way to find out. I’m a Sarah booster as well. Some of my co-workers, who should be supporting her, have bought into the Media’s “Tina Fey” image of her. Hopefully that will change as Sarah, now unfettered, speaks her mind.

Sep 17, 2009 - 7:25 am 18. Immanuel Goldstein:

Sarah Palin will sweep to the Presidency in 2012 in a Reagan style landslide. By then Obama will have gotten this country so bolluxed up that people of all races will vote for anybody to get him out of office. Sarah Palin is a genius. She is the most charismatic politician of her generation. The people who laugh at her are just expressing class snobbery, and have nothing else to offer. She’s already in Obama’s head, and has been out maneuvering him at every turn since she stepped down from the Governor’s seat. Sarah Palin is that rarity; a citizen politician. We haven’t seen one of those since Reagan. She is a frontier woman, who can hunt, fish, build a house, manage a business, raise a large family, and enter government not out of personal ambition but to fight corruption and be a champion of the people. That she is also a brilliant polemicist and writer is just an added surprise. Look for her to wow the Hong Kong conference and make her the most powerful politician in the country. And she is just getting started. My dream ticket: Palin/Petreyus 2012.

Sep 17, 2009 - 7:38 am 19. Saltherring:

You go in 2012, girl! But where are the accompanying conservatives to man the congressional seats now occupied by the Obama Marxists? We need moral, innovative, business/tax code-savvy men and women with charisma and integrity so we can kick the Marxists and Rinos to the curb, beginning in 2010. Republican-in-name-only? Get the hell out of the way. No more MaCains, Huckabees or Romneys. Are you listening Repubs? We are your base, not limp-wristed moderates. Don’t count on our votes ever again!

Sep 17, 2009 - 7:45 am 20. Poor Citizen:

Good to hear about Sarah. I can see why you like her so much Barbara, you both have alot in common with the challenging aspect with regard to your respective families. And your right, I think Sarah will be around for the long haul and who knows?… Wilson/Palin 2012? will she accept another “top ticket” opportunity? with Cheney as the campaign manager. The far right would be salivatin at the chance to wipe the wimpy center..what a prospect! out of the party once and for all. At least Sarah has a few years off to mull things over. After the past year, she needs the break.

Sep 17, 2009 - 8:04 am 21. inspectorudy:

I too am a big fan of SP but I don’t live in a liberal world. Many of my conservative friends don’t think she should have quit the Govenors office and that she is unqualified to be president. I disaggree and point to the fact that inner strenth based on doing what’s right is a lost trait in todays politicians. No one coming into the office of POTUS can have knowledge in all of the areas that are in peril but if your inner soul is good and you have not been corrupted by the process in the journey to the top, you will find the good people to help you succeed. I believe this is where SP’s forte lies. She has the inner compass to lead her to the promised land and take us with her.

Sep 17, 2009 - 8:16 am 22. Michael:

David S., your welcome! I hope you enjoy her as much in 2012.

Middleman, very poor obfuscation. Please try again.

‘Some 45 years ago Ronald Reagan said that “no one in this country should be denied medical care because of a lack of funds.’

When RR was shilling for GE, he was a vociferous opponent of what became Medicare (his now famous spiel is on Youtube). Ah, if he only had prevailed against “socialized medicine,” as he called it, how much better off our seniors would be today!

As for Palin, I’m sure that if you follow the money, you’ll find out that a good part of her funding comes from the Democratic National Committee. A candidate like her comes along once in a lifetime. And a Palin/Wilson ticket? Fuggeddaboutit!

“Can someone slip me several thousand dollars to bid on the dinner with Sarah Palin? My wife would love that for her 40th birthday.”

Typical conservative, always begging for money. Why don’t you pull yourself up by your jackboot straps and make something of yourself. This great nation and our dusty-haired founding fathers did not envision an America of layabouts and wasrtals content to sit on the side of the road while others did the hard work of building a nation. Shame on you. Why are you undermining the heroes of this country? Conservatard.

Sep 17, 2009 - 8:56 am 26. Now and Then:

Jeezo, it sure would be super keen if we could see our Sarah rock ‘em sock ‘em at the CLA, CASl, CSLC, whatever that well-known conference doodad is. But I hear the darn old media won’t be allowed inside. Now I wonder why Sarah wouldn’t insist on some coverage. It is kind of her coming out party again. And boy is she ever coming! She’s made like a half a dozen Facebook postings and now this speech thing, oh and the E-bay auction! So much to offer.

And have you noticed how different she sounds today? I don’t mean sound like in sounds that you hear, but her words are so much more better on her Facebook posts. I mean, you can see how she has grown so much already since her speech when she resigned in Alaska because of hjer tremendous love for Alaska and this great nation of soldier types (and not just men soldiers, BTW *wink*!) If I didn’t know better I would say maybe somebody who went to college for writing is helping her, but I know that’s not true, because of the firegrass on the merciless rivers of patriotism.

I sure wish I knew how to get to China for that speech, but that would be one long bus ride. Shoot and dang it all to h-e-double toothpicks! Oh well, I guess maybe we’ll just have to hear about her Chinese speech from Sean and Rush, they’ll give us the straight skinny. Hail Rush. Go Sarah. Oh, that reminds me, did you know that Sean Hannity VOLUNTEERED to be waterboarded. Yeah, he’s doing it for charity. Thats what I love about Sean and other conservatives – they care about others, it’s not just about them, and they love this country enough to sacrifice for it. OK, Hail Rush. Go Sarah. (Did I already say that? I don’t mean say like say words, but did I already mention that? The hail go thing?)

Sarah Palin says the things a lot of us want to say.
she has a platform and uses it well.
i really don’t care if she’s out to make money or anything else.

We need a good candidate in 2012. I like Sarah, but I do not believe she will be the candidate.
I do believe she will be instrumental in picking the candidate and if she supports someone we will give them very serious consideration. the kid that does our lawn is better than the narrow necked, narrow minded, big checkbook people we have a choice of now. We need new blood….

Yeah…it’s giggle time to see how the trolls get their panties in a wad over Palin.

Sep 17, 2009 - 10:39 am 37. David S:

@33. Sapwolf:

Sarah is trustworthy and will not lose it once she is President.

Sarah violated the trust of the voters of Alaska by resigning. Most Americans don’t think she has the right stuff. But we do have common ground.

I agree she “will not lose it once she is President” for two reasons:

1. She has already lost it

2. She will not become President

Have fun with the masturbatory celebration as the thread goes on…

Peace.

Oh, surely, it’s more like 98% of the blacks and 60% of the hispanics. I’m hispanic, and voted repub!

I love Sarah, and really hope the ‘pubs run someone great in 2012. I’m paying close attention to what Congress does-should one of my 2 GOP senators or any GOP representative vote for any healthcare that’s been proposed, I’ll be voting against them.

Sep 17, 2009 - 11:33 am 40. Immanuel Goldstein:

David S. You have an odd notion of ethics. Ted Kennedy committed vehicular manslaughter, and he didn’t resign. Bill Clinton was caught committing perjury before a federal judge, and he didn’t resign. A whole string of politicians have violated their oath’s of office and have never resigned. Sarah Palin resigned her office when she determined that she could no longer be effective on the job, and THAT somehow is a violation of trust to the voters of her state. You have no valid argument. Sarah Palin will trounce Obama in 2012.

Sep 17, 2009 - 12:05 pm 41. jd:

You guys just don’t get it.

I’m forever being reminded that Sara Palin is Stupid.

Why they even have proof. Like when she said she could see Russia from her home. (You know when Tammy Fey was impersonating her but she would have said that anyway.)

And of course there is the trump card. When 2 radio station guys from canada, go hold of identity codes and convinced the Secret service that the President of France was on the phone, Sarah actually beleived that the President of France was on the phone.

Of cours they didn’t do the same to BHO, but they proved how stupid Sarah is. Didn’t they?

jd

I look forward to seeing a repeat of the 1980 election map in 2012. Never forget, Reagan was a dottering old fool in 1977.

Sep 17, 2009 - 12:17 pm 42. Northern Light:

Palin-Bachmann 2012.

Liberals love it. Conservatives love it.

How often do you get that sort of agreement?

Sep 17, 2009 - 12:43 pm 43. jb:

jd @41 writes; “When 2 radio station guys from Canada, go hold of identity codes and convinced the Secret service that the President of France was on the phone, Sarah actually believed that the President of France was on the phone.”

jd, I corrected your spelling and grammar here. I don’t remember that happening.

Just in case you are right, I’d say the Secret Service Agents were the ones fooled. If they handed her the phone and told her the President of France was on the other end, what else should she believe?

You libtards never get to the bottom of things, do you? Your logic sux.

Sep 17, 2009 - 1:25 pm 44. Professor Guvinoff:

Sallie (#36)

I agree. It is not essential for Sarah Palin to hold an elective office in order to perfom public services, as she now does, as a private citizen, only a distinguished one. If there comes a time for her to run for president, she will, and she may well win, depending on the circumstances, because history gives many examples of exceptional circumstances bringing exceptional individuals to the fore.

In the meantime, she can help us by publishing pointed remarks on Facebook, or on the Wall Street Journal, and probably other channels, and reach a wide audience and have a deep impact.

Oh, I almost forgot, I just found out yesterday that I was a racist. I would never have known if Jimmy did not explain it so convincingly.

Sep 17, 2009 - 2:03 pm 45. Michael:

I always love the desperate posts of liberals when Sarah Palin is the subject here. MOST entertaining.

P.S. I don’t know whether to applaud Tina Fay for fooling the liberals so easily or pitying the liberals who can’t tell the difference.

What a great idea to have a Palin Tracker! I LOVE news from Gov. Palin. I am a HUGE fan in Santa Monica, California and can’t wait until she’s our next President!!! She’s awesome. I respect her enormously; she’s the only one standing up to Obama and he can’t stand it! Every chance I get I bring her name up because I do believe she’s the only one who is a Reagan conservative and she has what he had: she’s a sunny, self-assured, happy conservative warrior. She doesn’t have to be mean-spirited or bitter like Hillary nor flaky like Obama AND she TRULY loves this country and its military. GO SARAH! I have a bumper sticker on my car that I love. It simply says 2012 but the one is a lipstick. It’s great!!!!

Sep 17, 2009 - 2:49 pm 47. Portones:

I spent some time in Alaska this summer. I sense most love Sarah, admire her spunk, but don’t think she will ever run for President, or privately don’t think she really should. Interestingly, in talking with some who like Sarah, they said she would loose if she ran against Lisa Murkowski for U.S. Senate. Lisa is generally liked and respected, but not loved like Sarah. I think a point here is that people will vote for someone they feel will can do the job well. You may not like to hear it, but Sarah would loose evan a primary battle for POTUS because of perceived lack of experience and lack of presidential-level leadership skill.

I hope Sarah continues to carry the torch of passionate patriotism and conservatism. She really focuses the conservative base, and truly defines strong principled feminism.

Would I vote for her over Obama? Yes, in a heartbeat, but that scenario will never happen.

Bonus Question: What ever happened to Bobby Jindal? Talk about hard working, smart, and skilled leadership.

Sep 17, 2009 - 2:59 pm 48. Sienna:

Not all Hispanics go for the Democrats. There are many of us(Nicaraguans, Hondurans, Cubans, Salvadorians, Colombians, to name a few) who are Republicans. But, it’s true that Democrats lie effectively enough that a lot of Hispanics think that Dems have Hispanics’ interests at heart. Those of us who grew up with demagoguery know better. I knew that Obama was a demagogue the first time I heard him speak. GO SARAH!!!!!!!!!

Sep 17, 2009 - 3:05 pm 49. Sienna:

Bobby Jindal is great but NO CHARISMA. That’s what happened to him. He is a fantastic governor but has no gravitas.

Sep 17, 2009 - 3:06 pm 50. Rose Ann:

I LOVE Ms. Palin. She is an American to be proud of. This past Aug I vacationed in Alaska. I asked random citizens in resturants and stores in Jueanu about Sarah and all the people I asked replied in positive, plain, speach that Gov. Palin is one of the people. They repect her and with good reason!! The lady at the Tourist Desk even had a map showing her home in Juneau and gave me directions. Please, I’m 61 and from the South… not really a groupie, except for Ms. Palin. I hope she does not run for President as so far, Presidents are lacking in fundalmental principles like honesty. WE Need Sarah out in the trenches, leading all of us over the next 25 years. She will get stronger, more savvy and will become a beloved American who can speak to all of us. Sadly, Based on past experience, I think she’s too good to be an American President!

Sep 17, 2009 - 4:58 pm 51. JR Dogman:

If Gov. Palin doesn’t want to run for President in 2012 but may want to run at a later date, I think the best thing for her to do is to serve as Sec. of Energy for the next Republican administration. Does anyone doubt that she would be the most proactive, and most watched, cabinet member in US history? Within four years (or eight), she’d have established herself in the public eye as a serious leader, all set for a run for POTUS.

Agree?

Sep 17, 2009 - 5:29 pm 52. Now and Then:

51. JR Dogman:
“Agree?”

Yes, by all means, let’s envision Secretary of State Palin. Of course, the fist thing we’d have to do is inform her that the “State” in the title wasn’t Alaska. And then she’ll have to get a passport. Oh, she got that for her teleprompter speech in China. Oh wait, I remember she probably got it when she visited out troops in Iraq, from the Kuwati side. Then when she sits down with other world leaders, she can entertain em with some fancy pageant walkin. Good god, man, are your standards so low that you actually consider this travesty?

Bobby Jindal a great governor? Sure, as long as he’s going around Louisiana like Ed McMahon in a Publishers Clearinghouse van handing out oversized checks form the stimulus money he “refused.” Y’all better start thinking about a bench, not a deeper bench, but you bette start whittling away at some big pine log to build the bench itself. Then you can worry about who sits on it. Hey, wait minute – big log, sit on it . . . . come to think of it, I like Sarah Palin, too.

Sep 17, 2009 - 6:35 pm 53. TriGeek:

David S says the following: “Sarah violated the trust of the voters of Alaska by resigning”.

David–How about Obama violating the trust of the Illinois citizen? They voted him to represent them in the Senate. How long did he serve before he started globe trotting for the presidency? How many votes did he attend? How many votes did he do anything other than vote “present”? How is that serving his people?
Please respond and don’t change the subject.

Sep 17, 2009 - 6:52 pm 54. Mary:

Obama got my vote in 2008, but never again. All the wasteful spending and he is clueless, just thinks all you need to do as President is give eloquent speeches! Why didn’t he stand up and say “NO EAR MARKS” in the stimulus bill? Obama is lining the pockets of all his buddies, at the taxpayers expense….he has no common sense. I never thought I’d say this, but Sarah Palin….bring her on for 2012….she has to be an improvement from the Obama/Pelosi/Reid team….they need to be voted out of office!

“Please respond and don’t change the subject.”

DS talks abut Palin. you don’t like it and bring up Obama and then accuse him of changing the subject, but the subject was Palin.

I know it’s not easy to keep up, especially for the factually challenged and those chronically enraged by “those” people. Keep at it. Here’s a dollar, go buy yourself some Ding Dongs.

David S seems to have some sort of sexual fascination with Sarah Palin. I regard that as an sign of healing. She is good looking. And that is much better than a fascination with small children and alpacas.

Sep 17, 2009 - 8:03 pm 57. Stevemmn:

Democrat sleazeballs who forced Sarah Palin out of office with frivolous ethics complaints are finding that she is like Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars when he said,

52. Now and Then.
I agree Sarah Palin is a stupid nitwit. Let’s just look at all the stupid, selfish things Sarah Palin said and did:

-Sarah Palin said she campaigned in 57 states.
-Sarah Palin called on the UN Security Council to condemn Russia apparently unaware that Russia holds veto power over the UN Security Council.
-Sarah Palin said we have too few interpreters in Afghanistan because they are all in Iraq. Trouble is people in Iraq and Afghanistan speak different languages.
-Sarah Palin almost visited the troops in Berlin but went shopping instead.
-Sarah Palin said Arkansas is closer to Kentucky than her homestate of Illinois.
-Sarah Palin said we are one of the largest Muslim countries in the world when we don’t even crack the top 30.

Yep, Sarah Palin is pretty stupid isn’t … oh wait a minute, Sarah Palin didn’t say any of those things. Barack Obama the liberal messiah of ignorance did. My mistake!!

Sep 17, 2009 - 9:51 pm 59. JR Dogman:

Now and Then,

I don’t get trolls. I can’t imagine ever going to a leftist website to provoke people in the comments section. I don’t care what leftists think, and I know I won’t be able to persuade them to see things my way; I also know that they are not going to change my mind about my political views, no matter what they say. So why would I bother to be a troll on a leftist website?

That said, here you are. So, you must have an objective, something you wish to achieve. You should ask yourself, what is that objective? Do you seek to persuade conservatives of the superior merits of leftism, or do you simply seek to annoy conservatives?

In my view, based on your post, I cannot believe you are trying to persuade anybody of the merits of leftism. Thus, you must be trying to annoy people. In this, with posts such as the reply you left me, you will succeed — but only to a very limited extent. But what are you doing, really? What are you doing for the political aims you support? In my opinion, you’re turning people against leftism. For the more people you annoy with your posts, the more people you will convince of the correctness of the conservative view of leftist, i.e., as adolescent thinkers who offer taunts instead of arguments because they have no serious arguments, only pie-in-the-sky utopian fantasies. People on the fence, who might have considered your views if you presented them thoughtfully and with courtesy, will not be moved by what you say, in fact they will become turned off, and so less likely to consider the worthiness of leftist arguments in the future, no matter what their tenor or who makes them.

Regards,

JR Dogman

PS I suggested Palin for Secretary of Energy, not State.

Sep 17, 2009 - 10:27 pm 60. David S:

What the heck are you smoking, George? How in the world would you reach a conclusion like this? The only thing that comes to mind is projection. Honestly.

I regard that as an sign of healing. She is good looking. And that is much better than a fascination with small children and alpacas.

I’m glad that you are having success in overcoming your urges related to small children and alpacas. You should know, however, that Palin is married.

Really, you are hilarious.

Peace.

@ 59. Great post

“I don’t get trolls. I can’t imagine ever going to a leftist website to provoke people in the comments section.”
You should try it one time. Not provoking. Just make a reasonable, polite statement from a conservative point of view on a left wing thread. You wouldn’t believe it. The sheer amount of venom and pure hate. In comparison the trolls here get a super polite environment. And they know it. And like adolescents they take advantage of it. I suspect that most of the trolls here are not the firm believers in their cause as they try to appear foremost to themselves. I think they make a last stand before the realization of the big lie is cracking their minds apart.
Anyway, I write this from Germany. I am really happy that the conservative movement in the USA is so alive. We in Europe live in the fourth generation of nanny state, which is already on the edge of bankruptcy. The vast majority of people here cannot even comprehend what is going on in your great country. They do not know what is at stake. They want to ignore that their freedoms depend on a strong USA. Conservatives here are moderate liberals in your terms and the right wing is mostly anti american. Last year I wrote an article in a german paper: “Everyone hates Sarah”. You wouldn’t believe the posts I got. GO SARAH GO!

“the trolls here get a super polite environment.”

You must be new here. I’ll give you a pass on that one. Unless you want (endless examples to the contrary, which I’ll be happy to provide). You choose, Mr. Polite.

“I am really happy that the conservative movement in the USA is so alive”
More noisy than alive. That noisome whining you hear are the last desperate calls for relevance from a dying philosophy. Conservatism is dead in America, killed by hypocrisy, greed, self-righteousness, and religiosity. Good riddance.

Sep 18, 2009 - 7:26 am 64. alex:

Conservatism isn’t dead, its just forced to deal with a changing America. Minorities are the majority now, and with that comes a sea change of Politics. Its is fortuitous that many minorities don’t vote, if they did the make up of congress would lean even further to the left.
As American keeps changing, the conservative political party will adjust by itself, or be forced to adjust by shift in population. Eventually, in 20-30 years, the Conservative movement will become a very small voice in a very diverse nation.

I don’t believe this benefits our nation, BTW, it will probably spell its doom.

Palin may lose the primary, but only if she has to face Mike Huckabee, and I certainly would like Huckabee to win in 2012, anyway. Huckabee’s older and more experienced; Palin can wait until 2020, and Jindal until 2028.

Make a conservative remark on daily kos and see what happens. If you cannot see the difference, you are blind. But on the other hand, being blind is your must be condition as a lefty. I come from the left, comrade. I recognize the voice of totalitarism when I hear it. For one conservative turning liberal there are ten liberals turning conservative. Thats why conservatism isn’t dead.

Sep 18, 2009 - 9:11 am 69. Middleman:

67. myth buster,
Oh yes, Huckabee. A guy who we all know really needs to be in power. A Baptist minister who thinks all the Palestinians should move to Jordan. Also someone who has governor was known for never receiving a gift he didn’t like.

I’d honestly take Palin over him and that says a lot. He’d make end-times scripture a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Palin’s nomination would drive them insane with laughter, as they would get another 4 years of socialism.
If she hadn’t been the VP nominee, McCain would be president. You don’t see that?
also, good joke about new orleans. you are a winner top to bottom.

The marxist Progressives in our Government act with impunity in their quest. What is their quest?

In Healthcare – why do they want control of our bodies and why do they wish to import policies demonstrated in other countries to be personally and financially destructive?

In Energy – why do they want control of carbon, a fundamental component of every compound in commerce including transpo fuel, electricity, food and all other consumer goods?

In National Security – why do they persistently attack to undermine Defense, Intelligence and Anti-Terror policy?

In Environmental Issues – why do they monetize and create legislation over every blade of grass, every cricket and every molecule of atmosphere?

In Government – why do they attempt to concentrate political and legislative power away from the individual and the community and toward the State and Federal Government, while growing government and its beauracracy to an unprecedented scale and size with reach into every corner of our person and communities.

In Spending / Deficit Creation – why are so many States in deep deficit, the Federal Govt in terminal velocity of spending with incalculable debt which is impossible to pay off?

In Justice – why the vigorous defense of the terrorists interred in Guantanamo, and the release of the photos of our military defenders and guardians to the terror networks in the on-going fight against the Jihadist’s?

When you begin to answer these questions, you will be well on your way to the realization of the threat they are to our country, our culture, our survival going forward

Sep 18, 2009 - 2:46 pm 73. TriGeek:

Okay, here is how is works with trolls. They make a balatantly stupid statement-
David S says the following: “Sarah violated the trust of the voters of Alaska by resigning”.

You call him on it by showing him how his god Obama violated trust, and he can’t answer, so he just ignores- Then Now and Then steps in with an incredibly stupid statement, as follows:

“DS talks abut Palin. you don’t like it and bring up Obama and then accuse him of changing the subject, but the subject was Palin. (no, I was asking him how he couild say such a thing about Palin when his guy Obama did much worse. See how that relates?)

I know it’s not easy to keep up, especially for the factually challenged and those chronically enraged by “those” people. Keep at it. Here’s a dollar, go buy yourself some Ding Dongs.”

Which makes absolutely no sense. Explain how what I said (listed below) is factually challenged. And then he ends with some off-the-cuff childish remark about Ding Dongs. Why not just simply answer the question? I’ll repeat it here–

Sep 18, 2009 - 6:38 pm 74. Now and Then:

TriGeek . . . you didn’t call him on anything. He said Palin betrayed the trust of the people. It’s a post about Palin. You can tell by the picture up top. You brought up Obama. You didn’t challenge him on Palin. So you must agree that Palin betrayed her trust. You just couldn’t bring yourself to say it. Which is precisely why people don’t answer your ridiculous questions, because you’re impossibly dense and cowardly. Hope that helped. Moving on.

Sep 19, 2009 - 6:13 am 76. Clay Barham:

Look at Gpv Palin from the position of our American political system, as described in THE CHANGING FACE OF DEMOCRATS and the loss of our Libertarian Roots, the subject of a new book by Clay Barham on the history of the Democratic Party. America’s first major political Party evolved drastically over the past 200 years—from a libertarian party to a Rousseau to Marx-leaning liberal, left-wing party. The Democratic Party’s original ideals encouraged a free market, individual freedom, business interests, opposing overseas expansion, and supporting state’s rights and personal sovereignty. What happened? When and how did their policies begin to change? Why did a strongly patriotic party morph into one that blends communism, mercantilism and socialism? Whether you are Democrat or Republican, this narration is a study of history, fact, and the leadership that altered the Democratic Party. It shows that present day Democratic values do not reflect the true principles on which American society rests. http://www.claysamerica.com.

Obama will carry 200% of the black vote in 2012 and 150% of the Latino vote, thanks to ACORN and union thugs. At least 99% of Forest Lawn voters will vote for Obama as well.

This is a cause for all leftists to get behind, the Obama reich. Never in all history has such an opportunity to bring down a mighty democracy come along, and radical revolutionaries cannot resist the chance.

Sep 19, 2009 - 2:27 pm 78. Daphni:

100% of blacks will not be voting for Obama. This blanket kind of statement needs to be challenged. You have been missing a very entertaining segment of the population. Thinking is not segregated by the color of one’s skin. Check out: http://blacksagainstobama.org/ I don’t know anything about them, but there are many fine black people who don’t think along racial lines, but hope for the good of the country. Too bad they weren’t on the ticket. Google James David Manning, for instance. Lloyd Marcus and Tanya Crews are another couple. The most notable was http://www.breitbart.tv/god-awful-black-chamber-of-commerce-ceo-rips-sen-boxer-for-condescending-racial-remarks/ where Sen. Boxer insults teh Chairman of the Black Chamber of Commerce without realizing it and he calls her on it.

Sarah Palin, somewhere along life’s journey, Sarah lost something. I call it compation.. How can she pay men to go up in small planes, along with a shooter. Flush wolves out get them to running out of fear. When the wof is in their sights they shoot them, not a clean kill, they suffer unmercifully. When the plane lands , the dog howling and crying they shoot once more, this time a clean kill. But then, the monsters take the wolf put it on the wing of the plane, bring it home.. She would get along quite well with Michael Vick. C’mom Sarah, get some heart or ask God for help.
If a pack needs to be weeded do it with a Professional , on the ground. Stop making the wolf suffer

Sep 20, 2009 - 3:20 pm 81. Arapikos:

Ok all of we smart people. Sounds like the conservatives of the 1960s making subjective accusations and facts truth about Blacks, etc. First, we need to start understanding the fundamental definition of words. Remember when we were taught that “black” was a color, not a culture. “Arican-American” is a culture, not a color. Meaning, if we cannot determnine the difference in the foregone, then how can we start to define who S. Palin really is. We have all witnessed her moronic public appearances in 2008, and the aftermath. Yet, we still revert to the “head in the sand” syndrome. I am truly amazed at our zeal for ignorance.

Sep 22, 2009 - 3:04 am 82. Observer:

Amazing! Every time Sarah manages to get her name in the news we hear from the same collection of groupies…..making multiple postings, complimenting each other, and trying to convince us how brilliant their heroine is. Don’t you folks have jobs, or is this your job?

Sep 23, 2009 - 6:01 am 83. jezreel:

I am so sad to see a country deceived by some one who is riddled with contradictions and lack of tact toward those who differ with dear Sarah. She might be able to be a wonderful person and I do not take that away from her, but as a candidate for this nation is something that will never occur after 8 years of the most secretive government by our President Bush and his doctrine of dictatorship. Expect the same of her! Rudeness and ignorance is not a great union to have by someone who pretends moral values and patriotism!
