Parade of Fools Set to Descend on Washington

Obama's inaugural procession will be a carnival of political correctness.

January 13, 2009 - by Steve Gill
Page 1 of 2  Next ->

Next week the liberals will troop to Washington en masse to celebrate the inauguration of President Barack Hussein Obama. But not satisfied with having won the election and expanded their power in the House and Senate, the loonier leftist extremists are committed to putting their peculiar brand of nitwittery on parade throughout the inaugural festivities.

It all started with a left-wing hissy fit over Pastor Rick Warren being invited to give a prayer at the inauguration. Now we have the atheist element in the Democratic Party protesting prayers of any sort at the inauguration combined with the “gay, lesbian, transgender, etc.” crowd launching specific denunciations of Warren due to his Biblically-based admonitions against sinful behavior and gay marriage.

Apparently, neither of these groups has figured out that the ongoing policy input that Warren can expect to provide to the Obama administration is akin to the “play calling” input that a pastor giving a pregame prayer at a football game generally makes after the opening kickoff: none.

Nevertheless, actress Anne Hathaway is among the liberal representatives from Hollywood who will make their disgust with Warren’s involvement known through their display of anti-Warren ribbons. The protest ribbons are white ribbons tied into a knot. Anne hasn’t yet indicated whether she will be wearing a second ribbon of some other color to denounce longtime boyfriends who plead guilty to 14 counts of fraud and money laundering like her own boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri. Apparently, Anne is much more tolerant of big-time international crooks and scammers than she is of Christian pastors.

The inaugural parade is also in the target sights of the left. The political correctness police are on patrol to make sure that the parade does not include any expression, logo, group, or sentiment that might create some real or imagined slight. The Roosevelt High School marching band from Wyandotte, Michigan, will be the only group of high school musicians from Michigan marching in the parade. But a letter threatening litigation from Harvey Gunderson, who claims to be president of Religious Americans Against Indian Nicknames and Logos, put a damper on the band’s excitement.

Obama’s here and now every freak in the country stands at the ready to control everyone else’s behavior. I see dark days ahead. Great article though.

The Utah Utes marching band has been invited to the parade. I’m sure the ACLU will be out to get them as well, even though the Ute tribe, similar to the Wyandotte, are supportive of the nickname use.

Perhaps the U. was invited to promote the recent PC fantasy from the sports media that the #2 college football team should be considered the real national champion.

By the way, the Obama people issued the invitation about one week ago, by which time there was no lodging available. That’s the sort of pie-in-the-sky planning we can expect from Hope and Change over the next two years. (To its credit, the U. is handling it as best they can, asking DC-area alumni to house the band members. As a BYU alumnus, I’ll not house anyone on official Ute business, but I wish them good luck.)

These grievance mongers will never be satisfied. Ever. Give them what they ask for and they’ll come up with something else to whine and cry about. Someone in authority needs to develop the guts to tell these losers to just f*ck off and stop wasting everybodies time.

I wont hold my breath though. Everyone seems too preoccupied with working hard to avoid imagined insults rather than dealing with actual problems that really affect peoples lives. The tiny bubble of civilisation we live in is going to pop one day because we spend too much time giving voice to the weak and the stupid. Enough already.

Will the Ruckus Society, they of the black costumes and vandalized McDonalds, march in the parade? What of ACORN and the rest of the aligned community activists who made the Big O’s presidency a reality? Will they have multi-colored floats and throw grievance petitions into the assembled throngs of doe eyed supporters?
This may become the largest street party in inauguration history, a chance to party down and celebrate the final victory of leftist ideology over reason, or it may become a parody of every anti-war riot which has ever flared into violence.
My only question; will the Big O pardon any rioters who get caught up in the moment and arrested for toppling the Jefferson Memorial as a protest against Dead White Males?

As an American of Swedish descent, I am appalled at the use of “Vikings” as a sports team moniker. Those hairy, muscular, testosterone-saturated brutes bear no resemblance to the emasculated wimps that truly characterize the modern Swedish male. I demand that this insulting misnomer be replaced by the “Gay-Tolerators” or “Fighting Bureaucrats”.

Texas A&M University holds an annual contest for The Most Appropriate Definition of a Contemporary Term. In 2007, the chosen term was Political Correctness. This was the winning entry:

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous main stream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Great article, which clearly shows that the inmates are running the asylum. I’m sitting here shaking my head and LMAO.

On January 20th, our country will being a new era of total self-destruction under the guidance of the Obamanation. His egocentric behavior, his lack of sound judgment, his racist beliefs, combine his idiotic selections for cabinet and key positions jeopardize all Americans. For the first time in our history, we are losing our freedoms, our constitutional rights as the Empty Suit wants to turn us into a new USSR! Most concering is his outrageous position on the CIA, intelligence community and the protection of our country. I suspect within weeks of his presidency, this country and primarily our key cities will be hit severely by terrorist. He will then wonder how this happened and have no excuses given his recent proclamations. We have elected a man based solely on race, not leadership, credibility, wisdom, character or honor. America will pay an enormous price for this man.

Seems the “New Racism” is “Anti-Racism”. The NAACP continues to promote racism. Truth is a greater percentage of the black population hates whites than the percentage of whites hating blacks.
Obama was elected because whites voted for him. No minortity can carry an election sans the white vote.
Show me a country where blacks have a better life ? Show me a country that allows subversive organizations such as …NAACP , CAIR , La Raza , MEChA , ANSWER ,ACLU etc to operate within that countries boundaries ?
An American has the right to his own racial opinions . If hate were a crime all of France and all Democrats would have to be indicted.

I see people walking around the streets of Toronto in full Obama-mania gear (t-shirts, hats, buttons, etc) and this is Canada. Obama is a pop star. This was truly an election of charisma over quality. Americans do not know the dangers of Socialism. Trudeau destroyed Canada with it, and now Obama is trying to do the same to America. G-d bless you all.

7. bill;

10. The wizard; wise words. I hope that prophecy doesn’t materialize.
Steven Chu is going before Congress today for his confirmation hearings and will probably be overshadowed by Hillary’s hearings.
Chu wants to raise gasoline prices to the $8.00 figure to get Americans off gas. This is such an excellent move, since other large energy dependent, producing nations are tapping into their energy sources for MORE energy. They’re even increasing their use of coal.
If I went to Washington today, I’d probably see Congress out on the veranda engaged in a spitting contest, all facing up wind.

Jan 13, 2009 - 7:55 am 16. DonJoe:

Are Christians guilty of hate speech?

A working definition of hate speech is “speech that is intended to insult, intimidate, or cause prejudice against a person or people based on their race, gender, age, sexual orientation, political affiliation, occupation, disability, or physical appearance.” If that is the accepted definition, a Christian should never participate in hate speech. However, the problem is that the definition of hate speech is broadening over time. Proclaiming that a certain belief is wrong or that a certain activity is sinful, based on biblical principles, is increasingly being included in the definition of hate speech.

It is likely that in the near future, governments will begin declaring more speech as hate speech, thereby making it illegal. In some parts of the world, it is illegal to say that homosexuality is a sin. In some countries, it is illegal to declare one religion right and other religions wrong. This steady broadening of what qualifies as hate speech could eventually lead to any effort to evangelize being declared hate speech, since it would be “hateful” to tell a person that what he/she currently believes is incorrect.

What the perpetrators of this expanded hate speech definition fail to realize (or admit) is that to tell someone the truth is an act of love, not hate.

Is it hateful for a teacher to tell a student that his/her answer is wrong? Is it hateful for a building inspector to tell a construction company that they are building on a faulty foundation? Of course the answer to these questions is a resounding no.

However, that is precisely the illogic that is being applied to current hate speech legislation. Telling someone that his/her religious views are wrong is somehow hateful. Telling someone that his/her lifestyle is immoral is somehow hateful. The logic is not, in any sense, consistent with how truth is determined in other areas of society.

As Christians, our goal is to speak the truth in love. We do not hate Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Catholics, Mormons, or Jehovah’s Witnesses. Rather, we simply believe that these groups are making some serious theological and biblical errors.

We do not hate homosexuals, adulterers, pornographers, transsexuals, or fornicators. Rather, we simply believe that those who commit such acts are making immoral and ungodly decisions.

Telling someone that he/she is in the wrong is not hateful. In reality, refusing to tell someone the truth is what is truly hateful.

Declaring the speaking of truth, presented respectfully, to be hate speech, is in fact the ultimate demonstration of hate.

All history has regretable elements as well as noble elements. We need to learn the noble elements to learn who we are; we need to learn the regretable elements to know what prices were paid to make us who we are. And we need to learn how to avoid making mistakes by studying past mistakes.

The only way to hide the ugliness in our history is to destroy that history. And a people that has burnt its history has a hollow present, and little assurance of any future.

Also, within 200 miles of DC, there are over 12 THOUSAND available rooms. Someone made a list of houses people are willing to rent out to party-goers and thousands showed up to get on that list. As of today, 12 people have rented their homes for the “Great Occasion.”

Abortionists Must Be Delirious with Joy over Obama Prospects

I can’t say I’ve ever met a happy leftist nor a happy pro-abortionist. Of course, those categories invariably overlap since I’ve never met a leftist who wasn’t pro-abortion and vice versa.

It’s understandable that those of a leftist bent are rarely if ever happy people considering that their entire social/political philosophy revolves around negatives: anti-Americanism, anti-freedom, anti-truth, and anti-life. They are adept at feigning happiness but fail to fool anyone, especially themselves.

Those most committed to abortion rights, aka committed to destroying pre-born life, are easily the most miserable lefties. Yet, they don’t know it. The women of the left have killed untold numbers of their own pre-born children and many, such as Whoopi Goldberg, are astoundingly proud of their actions.

Whoopi is a star in Abortion World. She not only has aborted six of her babies but is so stinking proud of that dubious achievement that she wants reverence for the leftist sacrament that is abortion: http://www.moonbattery.com/archives/2007/10/whoopi_goldberg.html.

With the election of Barack Hussein Obama, however, the pro-aborts have many valid reasons for elation,. . .

That would be like saying that all conservatives lack a basic knowledge of major supreme court decisions because Sarah Palin apparently lacked such knowledge, or that all conservatives lack knowledge of small business tax issues simply because Joe the Plummer was ignorant on the subject. But hey, if this is the way the conservative press is going to hand-wring over the next four years, it should be an amusing four years.
