Very well put. I suppose responses to things like this are always difficult for the government. No matter what they say, they’re going to upset someone.. They do their best, and try not to commit to anything (at the risk of not following through, I’d imagine), but still, they slip up and make mistakes like this.

Why can’t they just say something safe, like “Everyone stay cautious, we’re doing our best to keep this under control?” That’s equally as nondescript, and doesn’t really let people get upset. At least that way, they seem a bit more concerned..
