I pledge my alligance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands ONE nation under GOD with liberty and justice for all.

Doesn’t that mean anything anymore? ONE nation under GOD, not under Democratic ruling or Republican ruling, under GOD.

Yeah, so both candidates say things that I don’t agree with or like, so then how do I decide who to vote for? Well lets see… who am I as a person? What do I believe?

I will not sacrifice my beliefs or my morals for anyone. Not even the future president.

Stop the negative rhetoric. It is starting to affect our kids. I am a teacher and I asked a kids I know to be a McCain supporter why he did not have is McCain button on. This is a kid who I have had interesting discussion with about politics and we have often agreed to disagree on many issues. i was shocked when he looked at me and told me that he did not want to get a B carved in his face. I tried to explain to him that the guy who attacked the woman a few days back was not representative of Democratic thinking and behavior anymore that idiot at McCain rallies yelling kill him or the few McCain supporters who make out being muslim a negative aspect of someones character. He said that an Obama supporter was more likely to commit violence against than the otehr way around. I know he did not come up with this on his own and I am saddened.

Yes I support Obama. Not because he is black. I supported Hillary andnow I support Obama because I agree with him. If McCain wins I hope he continues across party lines. At this point I am pessimistic about whether or not this nation will come together. In the end we are all Americans. Just because I don’t share all of your values, does not mean I am any less a patrior. We need to make sure that our children do not follow our negative example and stereo type the other side. We must be united aftet this is over or we will be “United in defeat,” (Phil Collins). By the way, one of the most prosperous eras in US history was the Clinton years. For 6 of his 8 years, he operated with a Senate. Interesting what can happen when we bring diverse ideas to the table.

It sounds like you are confusing all of the people you don’t like (Obama; folks who focus on the messenger rather than the message; trolls; socialists; people who like shiny pennies; people who don’t show their full respect to Joe Wurzelbacher; and most importantly: people who ask questions to which you do not know the answer).

Dude, the article is titled “The Democratic Party’s Drubbing of Joe The Plumber”. Isn’t it??? Am I “misinformed” about that? Am I chasing shiny pennies? All I want to know is how is the democratic party “Drubbing” Joe the Plumber? Is it not good to ask questions on this website? Are you so worried about “trolls” asking difficult questions that you just want to attack first and be reasonable only as a last resort? Ed, I “respectfully request” that you consider this: If you don’t know how the democratic party is “drubbing Joe the Plumber”, how the hell do you have the nerve to call me misinformed? Please find the videos out there yourself; I saw them on the news and and quite certain a chap as nimble as yourself can find them.

Defensive? Hardly. Just zero patience with folks who focus on the messenger rather than the message: it wasn’t Joe Wurzelbacher’s question, but Obama’s answer (HE’S the guy running for President, remember…) that matters.

It’s a pity, but there are so many troll out there these days who attempt to divert the discussion of Obama’s socialist outlook with the “shiny penny” technique: “ooh! lookie there! it’s a shiny penny! no, don’t look over at THAT issue, looie here at this shiny penny!”

If you are indeed a sincere poster simply of another perspective, I respectfully request you consider this, and I think you will understand.

Ed Wallis—Why so defensive? I asked a simple question and gave you what I have observed. Why do you feel the need to turn to name calling and insults? You took the time to respond and since as you point out, I’m so “misinformed”, why not finish your point with some actual information? You stated “Obama and Biden publicly scorned and dismissed Mr. Wurzelbacher”. Can you give examples without the hostility?

And did you take it personally that I referred to the man as “Joe the Plumber” and “Joe”? and not by his first and last name? My God! I certainly did not mean that as a slam on Mr. Wurzelbacher! I took the reference from the TITLE OF THE ARTICLE!

“I think when you spread the wealth it’s good for everybody” -

“NEWS that is compelling and interesting and worth reporting”.

MOST AMERICANS BEG TO DIFFER.
