With Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama still slugging it out in the Democratic primaries, John McCain has already cleared the way to the Republican nomination. Glenn Reynolds and Helen Smith were lucky enough to catch up with McCain's friend Fred Thompson, who talked with them about McCain's positions, the current and possible future states of the federal judiciary, and whether there's a place for an Attorney General Fred Thompson in a McCain administration. ("No Ma'am" he responded, when Helen asked.)

Fred was the only one who truly “gets-it”. The only one who knew enough about our dysfunctional government and had the principles and values to guide him to success, to our success.

The presidency is not about the ambition of title where any candidate who demonstrates an ounce of personal ambition should rightly be thrown aside.

Pathetically, we hear the whimpering cries of adolescent ‘entertainment’ instead… We, the people, have become incapable for our own governance.
