The book is interesting, action-oriented, and — in my opinion — more conservative and realistic than a lot that I’ve read. Our discussion includes what to do financially, how the housing bubble and the “coming demographic storm” of Baby-Boomer retirements are likely to affect investments, and what economic problems will confront the next President.

Chris Bond:Interesting podcast with Jim Schlagcheck. Thanks for the show. I was actually tracking along with his thinking until the solutions and political part. Did not hear anything new “more taxes” “less military spending”. While I don’t have the answers I would appreciate hearing a reasonable response that had other solutions. I am concerned about “Big Government taxes/spending/intrusion” and “radical terrorism of any stripe”
I certainly do agree with your conclusion “more frugality” along with smart conservation would do the trick. Not a rush to austerity or goingback to a”7th century lifestyle.
Thanks again for the information you provide, really enjoy reading you both!
