MCCAIN: And, by the way, could I just mention one other comment very quickly? I'm not pessimistic about the future of this country. We're still the greatest exporter, importer, innovator, military power. But we face significant challenges. And that overall challenge right now is radical Islamic extremism, which is hydra-headed. And I think that challenge is going to be military, diplomatic, intelligence, and ideological. We've got to do a better job in the use of cyber space. Osama bin Laden, just in the last two weeks, has got messages out to billions of people to recruit, motivate, and instruct radical Islamic extremists. My dear friends, it's an ideological struggle at the end of the day, and we won't surrender, but they will."

I agree with McCain on this cyber space communication issue.

But, I hope he is correct in that we will not surrender. If Hillary and Bill get back into the White House there is a high chance that the war will be lost.

John McCain: A Diplomat and a Fighter

With Joe Biden and Chuck Hagel not in the race for the presidency, John McCain is now the only candidate in either party with a serious and informed foreign policy vision. . .
In the HD format, you can see this man's well-traveled hazel eyes communicate wisdom and idealism.

A very impressive interview. I am a conservative with lots of reservations about John McCain, but this interview allows me to be totally confident in his grasp of national security.

I quite like McCain on Foreign Policy, he's too liberal on domestic stuff for my full support -- but if he's the Rep, I'll be working for him against any Dem.

That's also true for me for all pro-life Reps: Huckabee, Thompson, Romney, Paul.

I'll vote for, but not work for, Rudy.

Ron Paul's non-intervention is better than massive "show" forces that do not stop genocide. I'd rather pull out of NATO and pull out of the UN than pay for a huge military we don't use -- which is sort of the Dems position.

Be responsible and stop the Darfur genocide, or give up the responsibility and reduce.

But the smears against Ron Paul are just beginning.

Roger, it's a bit of unfair anti-Paul picture that Pajamas most often shows.

Great video quality on the full-screen streaming. That was impressive.

Also impressive was the interview. McCain is clearly on his game when it comes to foreign affairs and national security, and I say that as a Giuliani supporter. I'll admit the Senator leaves me very conflicted: I'd love to back him, since the Long War is my priority, but there's his stance on Gitmo/waterboarding, the Gang of 14, McCain-Feingold ... sigh. Oh, well, I can still vote for him in the general. He's far more preferable than any Democrat running.

Video: Nice definition and size, but no screen controls? No timer even? Blech.

Oh, and where's the Thompson clip? MIA? ;)

I was with him up to here: "I respect the United Nations." Unless, perhaps, I need to understand this as being in the same vein as his statements about Waziristan.

The idea of a coalition of the willing sounds good to me, but it's not new.

Overall I think Macain is more prepared to lead on foreing affairs than all the other candidates.

I wish him luck.
