Move it to Tehran, to wherever, just get them out of the US. Any US politicians want to attend the UN, go ahead. The US govt. should stay out of it, the sooner the better.

Well, we might disagree on whether or not the UN should leave the US.

My own thoughts are that the UN’s presence here on ‘mericun soil makes it much, much easier for us to bug offices, ‘phones, cars, living quarters, etc.; follow visitors who capture our interest; identify associations that might prove useful to our intelligence agencies; stage and/or exploit a diplomat’s indiscretions; etc. than if that august institution — and the parasites who inhabit it — were located elsewhere.

Nor do I think we should drop out of the UN. I like the idea of us retaining our seat on the Security Council and with that the power of the veto.

On the other hand, I do think we ought to reduce our contribution to the UN’s coffers. I think an annual contribution of — say — $25,000 ought to do just fine. It would indicate just how much esteem us ‘mericuns hold the UN in.

Forgive me my cynicism . . .

Great idea! I’m shocked that there is something I can agree on with Mahmoud. Maybe Susan Pritzker can push this idea at the gala she’s throwing for Ahmadinejad in New York.
