Nor is it the fault of news magazines that Sarah Palin is not experienced enough to be vice president of the United States. When asked by Katie Couric to name one Supreme Court decision other than Roe v Wade, she was silent. That is but one example of why even some conservatives such as George Will are writing that it was a mistake for McCain to choose Palin as his running mate.

The main stream media, including the magazines, have now outed themselves and proved to everyone that their reporting is unreliable.

This is sure to augment the declines in circulation and revenue that they are all experiencing and will drive more people to the internet in search of balanced information.

Governor Palin has done more than unite the Republicans, she has also caused the media to jump naked off the Golden Gate Bridge and I don’t think they can swim.

Many (most? nearly all?) of the readers of the lifestyle magazines are women. Regardless of policital leanings, women will see how Palin has been slammed and the Obamas elevated. (This is why the Oprah story resonates, at least a bit, as well.)

Maybe some media groups will try to remediate that, but the damage is done.

Many (most? all?) of the lifestyle magazines are targeted toward women. What do they see? Palin is belittled and the Obamas are coronated.

And readers of those magazines are certainly picking up on it.
