I particularly liked the term “congealed untruths”.

It’s not unusual to hear folks remark that the President is both incompetent and malicious as if everyone accepts these facts. I have personally been frustrated with the President’s unwillingness to confront the UN regarding the oil-for-food mess. There was an important distinction to be made between the war being a response to weapons of mass destruction versus the THREAT of weapons of mass destruction and more should have been said about the UN’s failure to manage the situation in a responsible way.

It seems as if the President finds it abhorrent to defend himself, but there is more than himself to consider.

Excellent observations. Bush has been utterly emasculated by CIA and State. FWIW, we can add NPR to the list of profound liars of Journalism; NPR also headlined no link, when the report states the exact opposite.

Please don’t blame the victim.

President Bush can step to the microphone all he wants, but the major networks won’t carry the speech. They have gone beyond partisanship and active hostility to simply ignoring this administration. For them, it’s already out of office.
