Is The Legacy Media Ignoring Story Of Muslim TV Founder Beheading His Wife?

According to CNN, (and note the Orwellian doublethink, intentional or otherwise in this lede), “The founder of an Islamic television station in upstate New York aimed at countering Muslim stereotypes has confessed to beheading his wife, authorities said.”

Power Line’s Scott Johnson explains the root causes of Mark Steyn’s classic “Headless body in gutless press” headline on Saturday, but don’t look for root causes of the actual murder in the MSM. However, found via Fausta’s Blog, Phyllis Chesler explains why “honor killings” are different from domestic violence:

When a husband murders a wife or daughter in the United States and Canada, too often law enforcement chalks the matter up to domestic violence. Murder is murder; religion is irrelevant. Honor killings are, however, distinct from wife battering and child abuse. Analysis of more than fifty reported honor killings shows they differ significantly from more common domestic violence. [1] The frequent argument made by Muslim advocacy organizations that honor killings have nothing to do with Islam and that it is discriminatory to differentiate between honor killings and domestic violence is wrong.

Read the whole thing; and then click here to tune into at least the first 15 minutes of Monday’s edition of Breitbart.TV’s B-Cast. As co-host Scott Baker says at the top of the show:

Let me put it this way: if even a small Christian cable TV operation had somebody who was the leader of it, and they decided to chop off their spouse’s head, you have the sense that that might be a really big story on cable news and the networks.

Baker and co-host Liz Stephans then round up a series of clips which contrasts the paucity of televised coverage of Muzzammil Hassan’s alleged crime; and then brilliantly contrasts the current legacy media silence by running a series of glowing reports (including Brian Williams on the NBC Nightly News) when Hassan’s Bridges TV cable channel was launched in 2004.

Update: Welcome readers stopping by after a fine repast at the interstellar cantina known as the Jawa Report, which spots another couple with a distinct lack of domestic tranquility in the Empire State.
