John Cougar Mellencamp still isn’t quite sure who attacked Pearl Harbor, but one thing he knows for certain: Ronald Reagan personally destroyed the record industry–right around the time that Mellencamp’s career caught fire, oddly enough.

1. Andrew X:Whatever with the gibbering nonsense from John Mellonhead, but one opportunity to stop him dead in his tracks was missed.
When you compare 9/11 to Pearl Harbor (perfectly apt) you still give nitwits like JCM a chance to see what blame they can lay on the US for “antagonizing Japan” yabada yabada.
No, when he says “we should talk to ‘the Muslims’” and ask “where are we so far apart here?”, the proper response to him is, “So when four little girls are murdered in a Birmingham church by Klansmen, the proper response is to ask the Klansmen “why are we so far apart here?” Is that your belief, JCM? That a Klansman is just “a friend you haven’t met yet”? Surely they were “defending their different culture than yours,” etc etc.
Try that one on for size and watch the “secret to peace is not to have any enemies” brigades try to squirm their way out of it. It’s good fun!
