Yet Another Minor Airbrushing

John Hinderaker links to a Minneapolis Star-Tribune article headlined, “FEMA grounds Minnesota coloring book with pic of 9/11 attack”, and includes a scanned copy of the page in question, adding:

It isn’t hard to see where this is going. It started with the television networks imposing de facto censorship on all footage of the September 11 attacks. The pace of revisionism is accelerating as Obama’s executive branch reviews everything produced by “the previous administration.” Eventually the only public legacy of the September 11 attacks will be photos of American soldiers brutalizing detainees.

To paraphrase Bogie in Casablanca, as we know from Monday’s impomptu strafing by “Air Force One”, they’re still awake in New York — even if they’re asleep in DC and, increasingly, elsewhere.

It really is an amazing thing… The spell Obama has cast upon this nation. It boggles the mind. I’ve made a strong effort to watch and listen to people in my town. I wanted to know if people really ARE that gaga over this guy. And I’m finding they are. As I watch the days go by with gaffe after gaffe, bad decision following bad decision and I cannot fathom what it is about Obama they love.

Over and over they answer poll questions about big government in the negative. The American people don’t want government to control their lives. Yet over and over they nod and smile and act like puppies on their backs, tails wiggling in delight while Obama shoves governmental control down their throats. I keep asking myself why. Is there something in the water? Was there some sort of subliminal message implanted in the debate broadcasts compelling the people to believe him to be right and correct no matter what comes out of his mouth?

It doesn’t matter what the man does. It only matters WHAT he says. And no matter what he says, his words are treated as if having come from the mouth of the Lord. We are not to question the veracity of his words, but simply bow down and accept them. Even when we know they and the plans he is dictating through those words are going to do bad things to our country.

I never agreed with those who hated President Bush. But I understood where some of their anger and dislike came from. Despite a strong effort to understand this unmitigated love of Obama, I cannot.

I’m beginning to think my feelings are similar to those experienced by people who had family who went to Guyana with Jim Jones. I feel as if I’m watching a beloved child shave his/her head, put on a peach colored sari/sarong and begin to dance around with a tamborine singing “Hari krishna, krishna krishna…”

The cult of Obama is taking over and destroying my country. It scares me to my soul. Though I’ve always believed that no matter the politician, when things have gotten screwed up, the people eventually saw it and voted them out. But this time I just don’t know. I’m beginning to believe that many Americans are going to float along on this wave of Obama love, handing their freedom and ability to have a say in how this country is governed into Obama’s hands and into the hands of those who put him into power. And once that is done, those of us who do not think like Obama and his gang will never truly have a say in ANYTHING ever again. Just look at how the press and administration has handled the flyover debacle.

No one in their right mind would believe those living in New York City wouldn’t be terrorized by an unannounced low altitude flyby of the city. I mean, those folks have only come to associate the sound of low flying jets with terror, fear and death. But then I suspect the Obama folks don’t really believe 9/11 was as bad as everyone says. In fact, I bet there are plenty of folks in the gang that think Al Qaeda aren’t bad guys, just a bunch of misunderstood “freedom fighters.”

Yet anyone critical of the event is being unreasonable. The only reason Obama released an apology is, I’m sure, because he knew the issue wouldn’t go away until he did. And even though the “apology” was anything but contrite and heartfelt, the press and many in the country said “OK, OK, he’s apologized, now get over it.” In less than a day it’ll be completely gone from the radar and put into the file with the rest of his screw ups, never to be mentioned again on pain of excommunication. And many people in this country will sit by and allow it.

Please wake up, America. Snap out of it. Our safety, our security, our America is at stake. And those who are running things right now are only in this for one thing: power. And it isn’t a powerful America they’re into.
