Jake Tapper dares touch the third rail of Beltway journalism.
Update: “Enjoy talking about it now because, come 2012, it’ll be safely verboten once again.”
Update: Michael Totten, one of Glenn Reynolds’ armada of guest bloggers on Instapundit this week adds, “According to Le Monde, Barack Obama said on French television that the United States is one of the world’s largest Muslim countries. Um, no, says Roger L. Simon. The U.S. is 38th.”

1. Lon Evans:Hmmm. So after explicitly denying that the U.S. is a Christian nation a few weeks ago, he now asserts we might be considered a Muslim nation?
Jun 3, 2009 - 3:43 am 2. Steven Den Beste:I wonder about something else entirely. Technically, according to Muslim law, Obama was born to a Muslim father and is Muslim himself. But because he now claims to be Christian, that makes him apostate, and by at least some interpretations of Sharia there is a duty for Muslims to kill him.
Jun 3, 2009 - 7:49 am 3. Judy, NYC:our president is either mentally ill or mentally challenged. in either case, he’s sinking us into the mud. dicking around with these crazies he is neville chamberlain. our guy needs a brain scan. or, a brain.
Jun 3, 2009 - 8:47 am 4. Robert in St Louis:If you can claim credit for “saving or creating” jobs when the economy is loosing over half a million of them a month, you can pretty much call yourself one of the largest anything.
The president made a complete fool of himself on his last international trip. He’s well on his way of doing it again.

Barack Obama is just another dummy who graduated from Harvard. Isn’t that the norm? The Ivy League schools are grossly overrated outside of the hard sciences. Obama normally says one moronic thing after another. Try and imagine if he instead graduated from “North Dakota Tech.” It’s the Harvard stuff that confuses the gullible. A Harvard person, after all, is supposed to possess a few brains in their head. But it’s generally not true! It seems to me that the majority of them are mental giants like Obama and Caroline Kennedy.
Jun 3, 2009 - 10:34 am 6. Andrew_M_Garland:Always remember that Obama is not doing this alone. He is supported by almost the entire Democratic Party in both the House and Senate.
Eventually they will try to blame Obama for the results. Blame them all for not exercising reason and prudence, and for not reading the bills that they are voting YES for.
