The Post is only sorry because they got caught. Those insultingly stupid cover-lies were only told because they got caught. The event absolutely would have gone forward if they had not got caught.

If this event had been planned by some middle-level Post employee, without clearance from the top, he would be fired the same day the word leaked out. No middle-level Post employees have been fired, have they.

It is almost certain that more of this kind of thing has gone on, and will continue to go on. Because one does not grow the size balls overnight, that it takes to contemplate prostituting your own newspaper this badly.

Why should newspaper owners be leading the conversation on health care?

Oh, maybe she meant “rich people” should be leading the conversation because there are so many of those poor people that it would be hard to hear the rich people’s opinions.

Or maybe she thinks that wealth comes to a person through merit and not by accidents of birth, etc., and therefore all the rich people of the industry, media, and government are appointed by God to get together, have a nice dinner, and plan the world.
