At first I agreed with Mr Allford but then I began to realize that he represented an organization that restricts membership on skin color and for that reason Senator Boxer addressing him in terms of skin color was correct. I wonder when the violations of the US Constitution will end such as the existence of the Black Caucus or this Black Chamber of Commerce?

Alford might not be 100% correct on this one, but Babs Boxer is almost always wrong about every damn thing.

Also, it was nice for her to be on the receiving end of a snippy lecture for once.

Everyone missed the two key points.

Boxer and Progressives (mostly Democrats) are brainwashing people to believe in Climate Change (previously Anthropomorphic Global Warming).

They want to create another crisis to futher destroy our economy and America.

Mr. Alford and his organization have been studying energy policy since 1996. He wanted to present his findings to the committee.

Obviously, to Boxer, RACE TRUMPS INTELLIGENT discourse. ONLY SHE CAN BE RIGHT.

She IS truly RACIST.

Look up Milankovitch Cycles on Wikipedia. Based on SCIENCE, they explain many things, but not all. They are coming back in vogue.

Recently scientists found an extreme warming period 50 million years ago, with no credible explanation yet.

RACE and STUPIDITY. That’s what Boxer and Progressives are all about.

Visit Chuckdevore.com if you want to get rid of RACIST Boxer.

Mr Allford is a clean, articulate black man. So people like him.

Thank you Mr. Alford for speaking out when Sen Boxer tried to treat you and those in your organization as a members of a herd rather than as individuals who could think and speak for themselves. You stood up for all Americans who wish to be treated as men and women, not sheep.

Man, this story is all over the MSM … headlines blaring at every major outlet.

Or … it would be had the Senator in question had an “R” in front of his/her name.

I think Senator Robert Byrd should counsel dear Ma’am on the proper way to address the Negroes. He learned it in the Klan.

Jul 17, 2009 - 7:23 am 13. Mike Myers:

Dennis D–Mr. Alford is “a representative of an organization that restricts on the basis of skin color.” So it’s okay to address him as though he were a “darkie down on the plantation”. That’s bovine excrement.

There is never an excuse to demean someone.
Would it be okay for Senator Boxer to ask a representative of the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund where his sombrero was?

Jul 17, 2009 - 7:23 am 14. Dazed:

Congratulations to Mr. Alford for showing up racial politics for what it is – a wedge hammered into our society every day. Whether or not Mr. Alford’s organization is slanted towards race he has every right to advocate for the special challenges to businesses run by those whom he chooses to represent. There’s nothing wrong with that. It does not deserve to be demeaned by a representative of the people. Not ever.

Thank you, Mr. Alford, for standing up to intellectually challenged people in power, not matter where he finds them!

Jul 17, 2009 - 8:26 am 15. Boomer:

One of the great results of Mr. Alford’s response to Senator Boxer was that for the second time in a month she was shown to be the blistering arrogant condescending rude superior bitch she really is. From the day this woman was elected to the senate along with her fellow traveler Di-Fi I haven’t had representation in the senate of the United States.

I actually consider “contempt of congress” as a title I relish with delight and pride.

Bravo, Mr. Alford.

Jul 17, 2009 - 9:06 am 17. Bohemian:

I wonder why Babs didn’t ask Mr. Alford to call her “senator”? It seems to me a perfect example of soft bigotry.
It is very amusing to see these “progressives” get snared in the webs of their own making.

Jul 17, 2009 - 9:19 am 18. Run Harry Run:

Why doesn’t Mr Alford run for office? He’s non-partisan, common-sensical, and doesn’t give a damn about anyone’s skin color (surprising for a guy who run a racial organization, but still).

Mr. Alford had scientific data to share and the Left could only produce the same-ol’ song and dance they’ve spouted for decades. Funny how this is something they accused Republicans of during the election – talk about your smoke and mirrors!

Mr. Alford is perfectly within his rights, and not to be confused as being racist by representing black business owners. In America, people have the right to assembly – in other words, if Mr. Alford wishes to assemble with those who run businesses and are black, he has the blessings of the Constitution. If school kids wish to invite Christians to assemble for prayer or to express their common beliefs, that is their Constitutionally-protected right. If the Girl Scouts of America wish to invite anatomically-female persons to learn stuff that earns them badges for their sashes, that is their constitutionally-protected right. These aren’t the activities that divide us – they simply allow us to assemble with the people of our choosing, when we choose to do so.

Don’t mistake what is happening to our country. The so-called “Progressives” are forcing identity politics on us to divide us into little camps. Haven’t you noticed how divisive this Administration has been? Not just Obama – the entire Progressive bunch of them has been trying with all their might to collectivize us all, which belies their Socialistic aims.

This is a good time to vote for term limits and start fresh. As the old saying goes, “A new broom sweeps clean.” That’s exactly what we need in Congress – a clean sweep and a fresh start, with transparency and adherence to the Constitution. No more of this identity politics crap.

Out with Boxer! In with BRIEF!

The figure of merit for an energy source is how FEW jobs are created per unit power sales. That means how much energy is left over for society and the rest of the economy.

Before the Industrial Revolution, most of our energy came from agriculture but most of us were serfs and peons. There was very little energy left over. That system was, by the way, solar.

Nuclear is the best since it takes the fewest workers (over the life of a plant) to make its unit output/

Non Partisan?

Allfords website is an Obama Hope and Change Koolaid party. He also labels anyone upset with Sotomayors racism a ” Bigot” in another section of his website. So if the man supports Obama who he knew all along was for Cap and Trade and Healthcare supported a candidate who was Anti Business I must conclude he supported Obama because he was black. Yes or No? But using this as a wedge issue between Democrats and Blacks does make sense.

Jul 17, 2009 - 2:25 pm 25. Papertiger:

But Dennis, he’s giving Boxer a dressing down.

Anyone who is taking a chunk out of the midget from Marin is alright in my book.
Even if he does like Sotomayor, even if he supports cap and tax>

After hearing the exchange between Harry and Babs, doesn’t it sound kind of contrived?
What Boxer did can be interpreted as pandering to the man on the basis of his color, but you have to stretch a little to get there.
That little bit of a stretch wouldn’t happen in one big happy party, that’s all on the same page with the climate change legislation.
The impression I get is that Harry was lying in wait for an opening to take a chop at Boxer’s kneecaps.

Why would he do that?

Jul 17, 2009 - 4:26 pm 26. Anonyme:

For me, though I might have handled it a bit differently, I’m delighted to see someone call a meritless attempt at argument for what it is: in this case, an attempt to attack a position via the use of two epistemological fallacies — the “argument” from intimidation and the “argument” from authority — neither of which is, in fact, an argument at all.

Senator Boxer interweaves both fallacies (on a patently racialist canvas, no less!) in the mistaken if not pernicious view that this suffices as a proper argument. That the NAACP (let alone the “100 Black Men of Atlanta”, or anyone else for that matter) has stated one opposing position or other does not address the particular merits of Mr. Alford’s points or those of his report. Senator Boxer’s fallacious “argument” in this instance reveals the intellectual bankruptcy of her own position.

Unfortunately, Senator Boxer’s method of “argumentation” has become commonplace in today’s anti-conceptual culture. It’s something we should all be on the lookout for, even in our own interactions.

FYI—you do NOT have to be black to be a member of the black COC. And if anyone asks if there is a white COC, there are many. They are Irish, Swedish, German, Italian, and more, and, no, you don’t have to produce a family tree to join those either.

Boxer was quite clear. She wasn’t listening to a Business “man” who had his own intellectual view of Socialized medicine, she was listening to a “black man” and she told him that other “blacks” didn’t agree with him.
Those of you who have sub-100-i.q.’s should now understand.
Boxer is a white woman. Ergo she should get in lock-step with ALL WHITE WOMEN.

right?

Jul 17, 2009 - 7:46 pm 31. gus:

Boxer is a hack. A rich bitch with no concept of how people live. An arrogant deluded hack.
What Boxer meant was.
“I’ve voted to keep giving “you people” plenty of tax dollars for programs etc. All I ask in return is that you sacrifice your dignity and independent liberty TO ME.”

Jul 17, 2009 - 7:50 pm 32. dallenva:

Would she have used materials from the NAACP or 100 Black Men if Alford had been white?

Jul 18, 2009 - 5:29 am 33. lou1785:

Its good to see Leftist lunatics like Babs “call me senator” Boxer expose themselves and the Lib agenda. Hopefully, more of these false “champions of injustice and equality” can expose themselves as well.
However, I don’t agree with Mr. Alford either – his claims of “racism” seem hypocritical since he’s the chairman of a racially polorized organization which further expands the racial/cultural divide in society.
In closing; watching the exchange between these two charlatans should make any level-headed person experience waves of schadenfraude.

Thank you Mr Alford for serving our country. I was so angry look at S.Boxer & her antics, I could tell what she was up to, like you said, she wants to treat you as a “poor black person”, as if thats not bad enough, she was using or trying to use race & forget about Cap & Trade. What a cheap shot. No wonder we have such a mess in DC. Its time they left & got real jobs, they sure cannot do what they are doing & I mean many, many on all sides. Way to go Mr. Alford!
