Folks – let me get this straight:  according to the AP, the House Democrats’ government takeover of health care won’t fully take effect until 2018 (though the tax hikes hit much earlier), but we absolutely, positively must pass it in the next two weeks?  Why?  So it will be up and running in August of 2018 rather than September of 2018?

And don’t forget this bottom line, per the AP, “The House bill isn’t close to becoming law. The Senate has its own ideas. But the House proposal represents the most comprehensive effort by lawmakers to meet Obama’s twin goals of guaranteeing coverage to all Americans and slowing the pace of rising medical costs.  It advances the first goal slowly, and independent analysts doubt it will meet the second.” Given the CBO announcement Friday night that the bill would increase the deficit by $239 billion, it would be fairer to say that “independent analysts” are certain it won’t meet the second.

So independent analysts don’t think the bill will work – it will take ten years to take effect – so the House Democratic Leaders says we must pass it immediately.  That’s the ‘fierce urgency’ of nonsense. – steel

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal spots “Democrats’ New Worry: Their Own Rich Voters.” Wait — aren’t all rich voters Republican-voting striped-pants wearing Adolphe Menjou lookalikes who escaped from the Monopoly game boxtop?

Finally, regarding a similarly named fellow Republican, Monique Stuart writes, “Michael Steele needs to exit stage left.”

Update: “Behold your Freudian slip/Kinsleyan gaffe of the day.” It certainly drives home the fierce moral urgency for universal TOTUS insurance, if not the “greater inefficiencies” of health care “reform” for humans.
