Her Source Was The New York Times

Or perhaps Charlie Gibson, based on Nancy Pelosi’s out-of-touch response to a question about Washington defunding ACORN:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said yesterday she is clueless about an amendment to prohibit government funds for embattled ACORN, although it overwhelmingly passed the Senate Monday and the White House is calling for the group to be held accountable.

“I don’t even know what they passed,” Pelosi told The Post yesterday. “What did they do? They defunded it?”

As Jammie Wearing Fool adds:

No matter how much the former “mainstream media” wanted to ignore this story, it’s now the top story in the country, thanks to two kids without formal journalistic training and layers upon layers of editors.

Those layers, of course, would have prevented this scandal from ever becoming news since they’re essentially an adjunct of the Democratic Party.

That’s now their problem.

And I have laugh at this desperate (and apparently false) attempt at a defense of ACORN as new videos drop on a regular basis:

Far Left mouthpiece Marc Lamont Hill told Bill O’Reilly that Big Government investigative reporters James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles went to “hundreds of ACORN offices” before they were able to catch “low level” ACORN workers for their damning reports on the scandal-plagued organization.

It seems very much akin to a Nixon spokesman attempting to justify Watergate as “just one burglary by some low-level White House employees. What’s the problem? The vast majority of DNC offices were left completely unharmed!

Update: Apparently Tea Party protesters are homophobic as well as racist in Nancy’s mind, as she amps up the rhetoric and doubles-down on socialized medicine:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who appears to rank only behind President Obama as a top target of health care reform opponents, grew visibly emotional Thursday when asked to compare the current political climate to that of years past.

“We are a free country and this balance between freedom and safety is one that we have to carefully balance,” Pelosi said at a Capitol Hill press conference as she appeared to get emotional. “I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw this myself in the late 70s in San Francisco.

“This kind of rhetoric was very frightening and it gave — it created a climate in which violence took place and so I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm [Huh -- who knew Larry David was conservative? -- Ed] in some of the statements that are made, understanding the ears that it is falling on are not as balanced as the person making the statement might assume,” she added. [Trust me Nancy -- no one is associating you with "balance." -- Ed.]

The California Democrat’s image was a popular one among “Tea Party” protesters on Capitol Hill last weekend, used on signs with derogatory messages like “Congress, look what happens from too much pork.”

Pelosi reiterated her commitment Thursday to a public option in the House version of the health care bill, a day after Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus unveiled a compromise bill that lacks the controversial provision.

“A public option will be in the bill that passes the House of Representatives,” she said.

Palomino! Nancy has spoken! Even though “Doctors Threaten to Go Galt if ObamaCare Passes.”

Ms. Piglosi has become the face of the worst congress in the history of the republic. She has done more harm to the DNC than the entire republican party. She is seen as a nasty, ignorant, amoral leader. Her continued response about health care is one of the reasons it is failing. Her defense of the various corrupt members of her party (Muthra, Dood, Schmer)has been an embarresment to the DNC. Her continuous insult to the American people that disagree with her far left policies are horrible. She after all that talks about returning civility to politics. She is an poster child for “Stuck on Stupid”

Toxic AND ignorant! And SHE represents the people of California?

Political violence “…in the late 70s in San Francisco”? Is she talking about Dan White shooting George Moscone and Harvey Milk? I thought that was caused by: A) sugary junk food (according to his defense attorney) and/or B) White’s resentment over political favors/appointments that he thought Moscone and Milk owed him (in other words…”professional politician crap”!)

I’m going to come right out and say it. Nancy Pelosi has set back women’s political aspirations by decades. The same applies to Obama as it applies to minorities. They have to be the worst leaders (or at least among them)that this country has ever seen… and we’ve seen some bad ones. She appears to be stupid, naive, and inept and Obama is a naive idealogue that is going to get our soldiers killed and leave our country in a shambles. But isn’t it “neat” having a woman as Speaker of the House and a black President?
