Islamic Society of Copenhagen can’t accept the secular laws of Denmark, and therefore they plan to seek support in the Middle East for a fatwa against Jyllands-Posten, if the newspaper is acquitted in a pending civic case, which a number of Muslim organizations has initiated against the paper, and if the European Human Rights Court also makes a decision that goes against the legal demands of the Muslims.
This is tomorrows top story in Jyllands-Posten.
”Until now nobody has had to answer for insulting our prophet. We have no choice but to ask for a fatwa,” says Kasem Ahmad, spokesman for Islamic Society, referring to the publication of the 12 cartoons of Mohammed in Jyllands-Posten September 30, 2005.
In November and December 2005 Islamic Society sent delegations to the Middle East deliberately giving false information about the situation for Muslims in Denmark, and bringing along offensive cartoons that were never published in any newspaper. Angry and violent demonstrations followed, 140-200 people were killed, most in Nigeria, Danish embassies were attacked and set on fire, and a region wide boycott of Danish product was initiated.
Jyllands-Posten was acquitted in the city court of Aarhus last year, but the Muslims have appealed the decision to a higher court.
The Muslims have sued the paper’s editor-in-chief Carsten Juste and me for defamation. Anything but acquittal will be a sensation, and the same goes for the European Human Rights Court, which in recent years have widened the limits of acceptable speech. Islamic Society has said that they also want an apology from the paper. In a similar case in France the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo was aquitted in March after having published two of Jyllands-Posten’s cartoons and one of their own.
Apparently, Islamic Society don’t want to accept that the cartoon crisis is a thing of the past.
”No Muslim will ever forget that the prophet was insulted,” says Kasem Ahmad.
He adds that Islamic Society has well established contacts with clerics in the Middle East, and that Arab media will be contacted in order to put focus on the issue. At the time of the cartoon crisis Islamic Society was headed by the radical imam Abu Laban, a strong supporter of Osama bin Laden and in favor of establishing a Taleban-like Caliphate in the Muslim world. For a long time he was perceived as a moderate by the authorities. Abu Laban passed away this year and his place has been taken by Mostafa Chendid.
In March the new imam was interviewed by the Danish weekly Weekendavisen. At that time a fight was going on between the city council of Copenhagen and a group of young people who illegally had occupied a building bought by a Christian sect. Mostafa Chendid then called on the young people to respect the law and leave the building. That answer prompted the reporter to ask the imam, if he and his fellow Muslims then shouldn’t accept the verdict in the case against Jyllands-Posten that said, that it was legal to publish the 12 Mohammed cartoons.
”Next question. I don’t want to discuss it anymore. I am just saying that there are exceptions from every rule. And if these cartoons have insulted 1,4 billion Muslims, then…”
What can I say?
Islamic Society is basically notifying the public: we do not accept secular law, we want the sharia imposed, and if you don’t obey, we will take our case to clerics in the Muslim world to pass a legitimate verdict against the blasphemers.
An unveiled threat. Will supporters of secular law meet the challenge?
Friday the city court of Lyngby will make public its verdict in a defamation case initiated by Islamic Society against Pia Kjærsgaard, leader of the People’s party, who at the height of the cartoons crisis in January 2006 called member of Islamic Society “traitors”.

Just wanted to say I support you. Good Luck in this next round the Islamists wish to intitate. Know that many, many freedom loving people are behind you. Too bad not enough of them are willing to fight, as you are. Thank you. Keep up the fight and the great work.

Excuse me? If we do not obey? Who do they think they are? They beg western countries to take them in like stray dogs, and then proceed to tell us what WE are going to do in our own country? First of all, clerics in the Muslim world can pass whatever “legitimate verdict” they please. It won’t mean anything, it will carry no weight. If they want Sharia law, they are certainly free to leave. I know loads of people who would only be too happy to help them pack their bags and buy them a one-way ticket back to Crap-a-stan.

All of us who have followed the cartoon brouhaha from the beginning owe a debt of gratitude to Flemming Rose for his courageous efforts to break down the Islamic “haram” barrier and restore universal freedom of speech. Nothing is more harmful to the Muslims and their faith than to bar their religious texts and leaders from the normal exegesis and historical analysis that allows religions to advance with the advancement of civilization. Just as some early Jewish and Christian practices (such as having meals with corpses in the catacombs) are obsolete, there is no shortage of Muslim practices (such as eternal jihad) which need to be reconsidered in view of current humanitarian values.

What constitutes “insulting the Prophet” was basically the cartoonists’ juxtaposing Muhammad’s 7th Century values with those of the current century. It’s not Muslims who should feel insulted, but rather all of humanity by those who insist that those values are timeless, sacrosanct, and superior to all other values.

Bravo, Mr. Rose.

Turnabout is fair play. Islamic Society should be charged with defamation of character. These self-righteous bas**rds also have blood on their hands for spreading lies.

Jesus Denmark,

You need to import some American-style whoop-ass.

Go ahead and issue a fatwa from a cave in Suckistan. You extremist morons.

Jul 13, 2007 - 6:45 pm Matt:

Hats off to Flemming Rose for his bravery in this matter. the muslim world as a whole is STUCK in the past, they adhere to 8th century barbarism and wish to spread and make Their backwards, ill-informed, ignorant, and barbaric “laws” common place and to see them become the Defacto law for Everyone (including all of us “Infidels”) thank you for shedding some light on the hypocracy of these animals. they want the entire world to be “tollerant” of their barbarism, while at the same time they demand “exclusion from the rule” and in this case that rule is Common decent law. personally i think its high time, to make a Stand against these animals, and and simply give them the choice of “change your ways, and barbarism or Go Home, either on your own, or by force, either way works for us”. the time of “talk” has come and past, people need to Wake Up, and realize exactly what these animals intend to do with You, if their system of “law” takes root.

I repeat: ‘Allah’ does not exist.

“Nice little newspaper you got here. I would hate if somethin’ was to happen to it.”

In a sane world, you would be able to sue Mr. Ahmad and the Islamic Society for incitement, or for conspiracy to incite to murder; and that they would be charged in a criminal court. Are there no laws to punish someone who puts a hit on another person, even if that hit is motivated by religious hatred and fanaticism? This is the behavior of a mafia, not a religion, and I certainly hope he and his organization can be sued and/or jailed and deported.

Bravo, Rose Fleming, for standing up to these Islamo-fascists. For far to long in the UK we have made every effort to appease these people, and have caved in to their every demand. We again showed how craven we were when not a single publication in Britain - with the exception of the Freethinker magazine - had the guts to reprint the cartoons. We are now paying a high price for our cowardice and political correctness, as the bombings on 3/ll, and recent terrorist activities have shown.

Jul 13, 2007 - 9:13 pm Ritchie Emmons:

It’s nice to see someone finally standing up to these Islamic extreminsts. I’ve had to endure the Pope apologizing for quoting an ancient text, opera houses shutting shows down because of threats, Muslim employees permitted to not touch pork products in the store that employs them, a Muslim soldier from Britain refusing to serve on behalf of Israel (in whatever capacity that may have been), British soldiers conducting themselves pathetically after being taken hostage by Iran, and the self righteous MSM refusing to reprint “offensive” cartoons. Thank you for not backing down. It means a lot to me.

Jul 13, 2007 - 9:17 pm Manuel - UK:

Well done Mr Rose for standing your ground - you are to be applauded and supported by Europeans.
The concept of free thought, free-speech & a free press in Denmark, the UK and the rest of the western free world is contrary to the theology of a creed embedded in the European equivalent of the middle-ages - the muslim year being 1427. Think back to what was going on in Europe in the 1400s.
A copy of Australia’s prime minister’s John Howard’s statement to his country’s muslim community should, indeed must, be echoed around western Europe. We must not allow these bigots to dictate to us on “free” expression - our laws, obey them or as John Howard & his government says, Go & leave us.
By publishing your inocuous cartoons, some of which are really funny without being at all offensive, you have done the western world an invaluable service - you have shown the vipers nest in our midst for what it is & how it’s followers perseve their hosts.
It is incredulous that the iman preachers of hate believe they are above our legal systems, can preach murdering of Jews, Christians, Hindus etc all in the name of their prophet & sharia, irrespective of the law of the land of the host nation.
The islamofacists have chosen to fight their hosts, it is up to us to stand up to these mediaevil bigots before they subduegate us with their evil creed.
Subject: Speech from the Prime Minster of Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. “If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you”, he said on National Television.
“I’d be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia : one the Australian law and another Islamic law that is false. If you can’t agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that’s a better option”, Costello said.
Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should “clear off. Basically people who don’t want to be Australians, and who don’t want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off”, he said.
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques.
Quote: “IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.”
“However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the ‘politically correct’ crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia .” “However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.” “This idea of Australia being a multi-cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. And as Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle.”
“This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom”
“We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!”
“Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.”
“We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.”
“If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don’t like “A Fair Go”, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don’t care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others.
“This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,
‘THE RIGHT TO LEAVE’.”
“If you aren’t happy here then LEAVE. We didn’t force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.”
Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, Canadian and American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths !

Jul 14, 2007 - 1:26 am Roger W. Gardner:

Bravo, Mr. Rose! And three cheers for Australia! And a special thankyou to ‘Manuel in UK’ for bringing those encouraging official Australian statements to our attention. In this Brave(?)New World courageous patriotic speech is, unfortunately, in short supply; and what there is of it, is generally submerged and denigrated in the liberal press.
Civilization has been fighting back against fanatics since its inception; thankfully, most of the time, successfully. However, this latest threat is somewhat different — and more deadly — in that the fanatics have not only managed to legally insinuate themselves into our Western societies, but have also become masters at using our democratic sytem of laws and our tolerant attitudes (especially towards religions) against us. Here, of course, they have found willing allies in the liberal “useful idiots” who seem to think that by allowing these murderous thugs virtual freedom of action and speech they are somehow on the right side of the moral debate. And their self-righteous stupidity is putting all of our lives and values at risk.
I want to see more anti-Islamist cartoons. I want to hear more patriotic rhetoric. I want to see more mosques and Muslim organizations infiltrated and monitored — and quickly shut down if there’s the slightest hint of inflammatory, anti-Western rhetoric. I want to see more hate-spewing, backward-thinking imams deported.
This is a monumental battle of civilization vs. barbarism that we absolutely must win. Thank you, once again, Mr. Rose for your bravery.
Sincerely,
Roger W. Gardner

Maybe it is not too late to alert UK subjects (citizens) to cast their vote on the building of a ’super’ mosque in east London - all part of the islamisation of our countries by these undemocratic theologists. I know a similar project for Stockholm was voted down last week. Now London, next…?
U.K. tax payer’s money to build an enormous mosque costing an estimated £100 million

Just to make you aware of this…I don’t know how you will feel about it but if you don’t think it is a good idea it is very easy to cast a vote on the link at the bottom of the page to say so.

You need to act now before it is too late. The deadline to sign the
H.M. Government petition is 18th July!

I don’t know if you have heard about this but Ken Livingstone, mayor of London,is planning to
use tax payer’s money to build an enormous mosque costing an estimated £100 million in the docklands. It makes you wonder why Livingstone was so eager to visit Fidel Castro and Hugo Chaves!

Wouldn’t it be better to spend the money on a new hospital or improved
transport facilities? - anything but this!

The mosque will be BIGGER THAN ST PAUL’S!!! The plan is for the
mosque to be large enough for people flying in from all over the world for the 2012 Olympics to see it. It will be the biggest landmark in London, bigger than St Paul’s, Westminster Abbey or Wembley Stadium.

The vote so far is 56 % in favour. It looks like the Muslim community in the UK is casting its vote in droves. As so often happens the rest of us are burying our heads in the sand… It is an undemocratic use of British Tax payers money, especially when our churches that are 100’s of years old get no
government funding to keep their structures standing, and this is supposedly a Christian nation.
To vote to ‘Scrap the ‘Mega-Mosque’, please sign the official Government petition in the link below.
In addition the Saudi’s are contributing millions of £s towards the costs and towards building other mosques in the UK. Has anyone tried building churches in Saudi Arabia…….and survived with their head(s) to tell the tale?

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/ScrapMegaMosque/

If you are in agreement with casting your vote please forward this email to your friends.

Who cares, they are cartoons and just that. I do not see how they can insult someone who is not alive to take offense. This whole thing is too silly. A simple apology would suffice but some people are too extreme and stubborn to accept that it is enough.

Jul 15, 2007 - 2:07 am marij van Eck:

The Danisch paper Jyllands Posten an his editor Flemming Rose are rays of hope in islamized Europa. Most European newspapers refuse to write about the moslims and their misdeeds.
That is certainly the case in the Netherlands. “Elsevier” and “Opinio” are the only ones who dare to criticize the moslim religion and his medieval, often terrible traditions. But they are weekly magazines.
Yesterday, one of our ministers, Ella Vogelaar, said in the newspaper “Trouw” that islam has established itself in the Netherlands and become a part of the dutch culture. A terrible pronunciation. Fortunately a great part of the dutch people reacted furiously. Geert Wilders, chairman of the political party “Party of Freedom” demands that she withdraw her words or otherwise leave the parliament. Three parties of the left wing “PvdA, the “SP” and “Groen Links” had a meeting in Damascus with one of the Hamasleaders. While the governement is against contact with the terrorist movement “Hamas”. The PvdA belongs to the government. Most of the politicians act as cowards. They all seem to be afraid of Islam and scared to loose their votes during the elections. Or, the left wing parties, like the moslims on behalf of their antisemitisme, their hate to America and the whole western world. Therefore I envy the Danes for their nerve en their struggle to the Moslims. Especially for their newspaper Jyllands Posten and their brave editor Flemmig Rose. I wish that such an newspaper exists in the Nethelands.

Every time I read about the cartoons protests or similarly outrageous actions taken by Muslims, I take a big dump on the Koran. Is there anything that doesn’t offend these nancy-boy jackasses?

Jul 17, 2007 - 9:59 pm Smilin Bob:

“European newspapers refuse to write about the moslims and their misdeeds”.
And the reason for that is the fact they could end up in court and even jail simply for criticizing Islam; look at what happened to Oriana Fallaci. Yes, I agree that these idiotic muslims who are easily offended are the bulk of the problem, but so are the lawmakers in these European(and Canadian) countries. That this case even saw the inside of a courtroom is absolutely insane, and frightening. The fact that one can be dragged before a judge for perceived insults (or even indisputable insults for that matter) to a religion indicates that some of these countries have already taken the first step toward the implemenation of sharia law. The United States may be flawed in some ways but every time I read about so-called human rights commissions in Europe and Canada looking into legal action at the behest of muslims, the most easily offended group in the world, I thank God I live in this United States, where I am free to call Mohammed the warmongering pedophile he was, without fear of legal repercussion.
