An American-Muslim State of Mind. The Honor Murderer in Texas did not Pull the Trigger

PRESS HERE TO LISTEN TO MY INTERVIEW WITH THE MURDERED GIRLS’ FEMALE RELATIVES.

Islam Said blames his sisters’ deaths on their boyfriends. On March 8, 2008, the Lewisville High School celebrated the lives of the honor murdered Amina and Sarah Said. Local media was there. I watched as Islam grabbed the microphone and characterized his sisters’ boyfriends as “gang members” who “killed his sisters.” He also said: “They pulled the trigger, not my dad. My dad is the victim here.” PRESS HERE

It is absolutely crucial for Westerners, especially Americans, to understand his mind-set. This is a cultural and political mind-set which has nothing to do with the color of one’s skin and everything to do with one’s political ideology. Despite heated denial and much controversy, it is also a mind-set which is correlated with the practice of Islam in its current, highly politicized jihadic mode.

Thus, when anyone tries to describe the crimes against humanity which are committed in the name of Islam (the religion, not the man whom I quote above), both Muslims and politically progressive non-Muslim Westerners cry “racism.”

But this is a primitive/totalitarian tactic used to silence those who dare to expose injustice and who wish to resist terror and tyranny. The charge of “racism” is a rallying cry which is first used against dark-skinned Muslim and ex-Muslim dissidents. The lovely dark-skinned ex-Muslim feminist freedom-fighter, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, has been characterized as a “racist” in Holland and in the pages of America’s Nation magazine. This fascist tactic works best among guilty, liberal Westerners who really do want to atone for or end the world’s awful history of racism.

The West crusaded against and finally abolished slavery. Many of us remain conflicted about its terrible legacy. Muslims have never launched a campaign against their own racism. The Arab Muslim slave trade continues to this day in many forms, both in the Middle East and in the West, especially among United Nations diplomats who are posted here.

Muslim employers in Saudi Arabia are not apologizing to their Philippina servants whom they imprison and routinely force to work around the clock as domestics and sex slaves. Ethnic Arab Muslims in Sudan are not guilty about gang-raping black African girls and women in Darfur–no more than they are guilty about genocidally exterminating black Africans who are also Muslims, Christians, and animists.

It’s the same mind-set that inspires Islam Said to view his father, Yasser Abdul Said, the honor murderer, as the true “victim.” The defender of the faith (whether that faith is conceived of as one’s religion or as one’s family “honor”), is always the glorious “victim.” Yes, even suicide killers who blow up innocent civilians in Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan and who gun down Jewish children in religious schools in Jerusalem are viewed as victims and martyrs. Their supporters do not view them as murderous aggressors nor do they view themselves as such.

While I would like to attribute Islamic gender and religious apartheid to a cluster of factors including normalized childhood abuse, poverty, a lack of education, and to a super-aggressive and non-introspective cultural psychology, (see above), it is also increasingly clear that many wealthy and well-educated Muslims, who live in Muslim lands and in the West, share the same views. Like Islam Said, quoted at the beginning of this article, many well-educated Muslims still view women as animals, (yes, perhaps as “sacred” animals), and they still view Jews and other infidels as unclean, poisonous prey.

The very trait which has been hated in religious Jews (the desire to live “apart,” to eat differently and perhaps to also dress differently), is deeply respected, even lionized when it appears among religious Muslims. Increasingly, all across America, Muslim women are wearing headscarves and burqas–in university settings and on the streets; Muslim communities are demanding and receiving separate eating and washing facilities, separate hours for recreational facilities or separate facilities, etc.

If such outward behaviors were not intimately linked to dangerous, often murderous apartheid beliefs and behaviors, I would have no objection. But that is not the case. For example, based on extensive interviews that I have done with the female relatives of the murdered Texas teenagers, it is clear that:

a) Amina and Sarah were expected to wear headscarves. Their failure to do so, their “hidden” lives as normal American teenagers, doomed them.

b) Amina and Sarah were expected to enter into arranged marriages against their will to much older Egyptian men whom they had never met. Their refusal to do so doomed them.

c) Amina and Sarah were expected to keep quiet about the horrific sexual, physical, and psychological abuse which was heaped upon them by their father, mother, and brother. Their failure to do so doomed them.

d) Amina and Sarah were not supposed to have “boyfriends.” At the very least, their friends, both male and female, were not supposed to be Christians. The fact that they were friendly with Christian male teenagers doomed them.

e) Amina and Sarah were supposed to learn to hate America and to choose Shari’a law. Their failure to do so doomed them.

These are only some of the “rules” that Amina and Sarah were expected to obey. One of my informants has quoted their brother Islam, who often stalked his sisters, as saying: “They knew the rules. They broke them.” Islam is saying that it is their fault that his father had to kill them.

Thus, whenever you see a woman in a face veil, headscarf, or burqa, it is very likely that these rules also apply to her.

For the record: Let me again repeat what I have written before, namely, that there are many individual Muslims who are personally peaceful and who favor human rights for everyone, even for women and infidels. There are also individual Muslims who oppose and who have fled Islamic apartheid regimes. However, most Muslim religious leaders do not condemn the barbarism committed in the name of their religion. (A brave handful do).

There were also individual Germans in the Nazi era who did not personally hate the mentally ill, Jews, gypsies, anarchists, homosexuals, or American and British soldiers; a few even risked their lives to save such targeted “enemies.” However, most Germans (and Poles, Austrians, Ukrainians, etc.) chose to opportunistically profit from the persecution of the Jews and refused to risk anything in order to resist Hitler. Their failure to do so meant that they enabled and collaborated with him. To quote Edmund Burke: “All that is necessary for the forces of evil to win in the world is for enough good men (and women) to do nothing.”

I stand ready and willing to honor and to work with all those Muslims and non-Muslims who oppose Islamic gender and religious apartheid. Our lives depend upon such heroism.

Brilliant, articulate, intelligent post. Many thanks.

“My dad is the victim here.”

This young man’s comments should serve as a wake up call. The politically correct establishment has not so subtly told him that dark skinned individuals are always victims. The white oppressor class supposedly forced the father to murder his own daughters. Western culture was corrupting them. What else was the poor guy supposed to do?

You said:

“However, most Germans (and Poles, Austrians, Ukrainians, etc.) chose to opportunistically profit from the persecution of the Jews and refused to risk anything in order to resist Hitler.”

Just a word of warning: don’t say that “most of” Poles has been somehow profited from Holocaust.

Go there, and enlight yourself:

And google for “Paradis Judaeorum”.

There is lots of disinformation and lies about antisemitism in Poland. I would not say that there is no such a thing in my country, but keeping some basic balance and facts is important.

May I please ask a stupid question?

Why are the mother and brother of these 2 girls walking the streets?

From everything I’ve read it looks like they are both accomplices to these murders.

Phyliss , I resd both your articles on the Texas Honor Murders and listened to your interview with the Mother’s relatives. I know my assessment of Islam is a blanket truth. I stand by it as so because of Islam’s blanket hatred. Look at Eurabia and the statement rings as loud and clear as the Liberty Bell.I am not concerned if my words offend any or all of the ten “Moderate Muslims on the Planet. They are not concerned when they offend Infidels or kill Infidels or kill their daughters to save Barbaric face. I know Islam ’s quest is to impose Sharia on the Planet and I refuse to be politically correct or wallow in denial and enable our (Infidel) genocide.

Good job Phyllis. I wish I could personally help a couple of women break out of islamic bondage. I wish I could meet the girls father or brother alone in a dark alley. All I would need is 15 or 20 seconds to make them see the true light, and the error of their ways. Especially that panty waste of a brother.

Mar 13, 2008 - 8:00 pm 7. Dishman:

It certainly appears to me that Islam Said knew in advance that his father intended to kill his sisters, and encouraged the sisters to return home.

Accomplice before the fact.

Mar 13, 2008 - 8:15 pm 8. P. Ami:

DoktorNo,
While Poles had everything to fear from the German’s during WWII, the Jews had everything to fear from both. It was Polish looters that my grandmother, great grandmother and others kept quite for in a hidden closet and holding a crying infant quiet with a pillow. I still don’t know what they did with her body. It was a Pole who informed the Germans that Jews were hiding in this closet after the liquidation of Bialystok. My grandmother and her mother are the only ones from that group who survived their camping experience in the great city of Auschwitz. It was Poles that used to start “gang” wars with the Jews of Lodz when my grandfather was growing up there. It was the Polish police which arrested Jews and tortured them on suspicion of Communist leanings. Some survived the beatings. It was Poles throughout the country that taunted Jews, threw filth at them and made every attempt for Jews to stay alive during the war less likely.

I would like to pay respect to the righteous gentiles who did save lives at great risk of their own. From my interviews with my grandparents and their friends, all of whom grew up in Poland during the war, these gentiles were the exception. BTW, Israelis send groups of late high-schoolers to Poland every year so the ties to our Diaspora experience remain strong. These groups always are accompanied by post-army caretakers, who are armed, and whose single job is security. It would be odd to spend money on such a service if unneeded.

Mar 13, 2008 - 9:15 pm 9. DoktorNo:

P.Ami:

In “Przekrój” (a left-winged, pro-Israeli newspaper) there were an article about appaling behaviour of Israeli teenagers in hotels, and how thse “caretakers” are “protecting” them.

Poland is is not a Gaza strip. Got it? You don’t need armed guards here. There was a situation, where these bodyguards have beaten up an Italin man, living in Oswiecim for many years, because he demanded to turn off the bus engines. There were ugly incidents were guards have pushed out brutally a Jews from Oswiecim’ synagoge to make place for Israeli kids. Our government tried to settle this, by providing the guards by themselv, but Israel declined.

There some other unpleasent incidents described there, that are hardly helping mutual understanding between Israelis and Poles (for example these youths are separated completly from their Polish counterparts). How do you want to improve relations between states and nations, when ordinary people cannot meet each other?

I am sick of the disinformation. Did you know, that for many years in West in media the phrase “Polish concentration camps” were commonplace?

Poland is the one of the most pro-Israeli country in Europe (and there is some serious cooperation in defence industry). We are doing the best to preserve the memory of Holocaust, because the places of Jewish martydom are on our soil. I heard, that some French Jews were saying that when they are in Poland, they are safer than in Paris.

Ask youself how MSMs are accounting this, and how what they are saying is related to reality. I read blogs as a news source for three years, and I had to review my viewpoints on many issues, from Balkans to Middle East etc. and my amazement of the amount of lies, dishonestly and disinformation in MSMs is still amazing me.

P. Chesler:

My intention was’t to hijack your blog comments. I simply feel obliged to set the record straight, and clear out some misconceptions.

Mar 14, 2008 - 5:03 am 10. Yael:

Thank you so much for bringing the interview with the family members to light and for keeping this case alive. Listening to the interviews was just chilling to hear of what these girls went through in their lives and sadly, the role their own mother had in bringing about their murders. She should be in jail.

Mar 14, 2008 - 5:20 am 11. Virginia Ray:

This is a special post to all Hillary-voting feminists. We all want to do an action together – to begin to act as 3rd wave feminists in our own worlds, yet together. I believe we must begin to articulate a feminist foreign policy for Iraq and Afghanistan that Hillary can adopt which will be accepted by the majority of US citizens. Feminist foreign policy liberates middle east women from Sharia law and elevates the goal of equal rights.

Feminists Democrats should offer a platform that addresses the women of Iraq and Afghanistan. The feminist position on the war would advocate equal rights for Iraq and Afghanistan women with reconstruction democracy training and the implementation of a civil secular law system. We should eventually offer amendments to the constitution which will form a secular society with secular non-religious law. At the beginning some separate gender activities may be needed to protect women and enforce their rights..

Democracy training reconstruction in Iraq instead of rapid withdrawal can be the democratic platform. The CNN reports from Iraqi citizens say this is what the people of Iraq are asking the US to do now. A soldier said: We need a book of democracy because what we want is personal freedom. That is what we want all this suffering to result in – freedom for the individual in Iraq.

The Iraqi also said, We have all this oil – the people should not be so poor.

As part of the democratic platform on Iraq, the US should work out economic treaties with Iraq that benefit our both countries. We can use the oil revenue while creating a solar society with economic opportunity for males and females . We can leave behind a good public secular school system for girls and boys.

The boys want to do another Vietnam withdrawal throwing the people to their enemies. I want to use the Japan German model of reconstruction which led to friendly relations rather than the estrangement we have had from Viet nam and Cuba all these years.

This must become part of Hillary’s Iraq program not withdrawal – reconstruction training in democracy; with the end of gender apartheid as the primary goal.

Specifically, reconstruction with women trained by US soldiers, armed and functioning as protective associations for women’s rights – guarding women’s centers and shelters, enforcing sexual abuse and domestic violence complaints, working with male units. The democracy – freedom guarding functions of such units could be praised all over the country as a teaching method.

The abuse shelters and women’s villages are where women’s economic development takes place. there carpentry, plumping, solar green jobs, sanitation can be taught. Women’s home building companies can be formed and guarded.

We woman identified feminists must start to organize around this now or a great opportunity for democracy with equal rights will be lost in the world. See CNN report from Iraqi troops, Kira Phillips in Bagdad. This is film of Iraqis telling US media what they need – on what is needed. It may still be somewhere on the CNN website.

Iraqi want democracy training. Training from US troops, democracy training from western TV programs – – free fair election laws – Iraqi are watching this US election on their TV sets and trying to learn from it (that is why our voting booths and polling rooms should be on TV) -

Most Iraqi seemed to want want Clinton to win -(Hillary’s withdrawal plan showed a concern for Iraqi people’s welfare whereas Obama just wants to get out)

Iraqi want one person, one vote, privacy in voting, separate men – women polling stations, simplified voting, to learn about federal, state relationships and responsibilities, Iraqi want jobs, green jobs for males and females.

See also,CNN, On deadly Ground: Women of Iraq.
Sat and Sun night, the 15th and 16th.
Let’s all watch together.

Feminist must insist on a reconstruction that helps Iraq achieve secular society with all our individual personal freedom. We must insist, through the surge, on a secular system as the only way to freedom and peace between the religious factions and non Muslims in one society. The US has done this – we know what works.

We must teach separation of church and state — we must make this position our feminist foreign policy for Iraq and Afghanistan. That is the Iraq reconstruction plan that can unite the country. Sharia law should be abolished in Iraq and Afghanistan and secular law taught in the schools. We Hillary women could demand feminist reconstruction be in the platform at the democratic convention. We want trade and economic development to result in economic advancement for all our people; US, Iraqi and Afghani.

Remember, let’s all watch CNN this weekend and see Women of Iraq.

One native pole I know who lived through WWII hated all Jews and still does to this day. He claims they owned all the buildings and were ruthless landlords who tossed Polish tenants out into the cold streets if they were late with the rent. He wishes hitler would have killed them all. I do not believe his feelings were the exception to the rule in Poland in the late 1930’s.

Mar 14, 2008 - 3:29 pm 13. Harvey Levy:

Thank you for a fine article. Unlike Christianity and Judaism Islam is an unforgiving religion. Most sane people are shocked when overzealous religious fanatics take their religion to such an extreme but in the case with Islam such behavior is well within the accepted norms. There are plenty of books and websites which describe the incredible brutality practiced by Muslim men towards Muslim women. The authors and creators are people who know, first hand, what it’s like to be a Muslim. Contrary to what I believe to be current western perception of Islam, they describe and teach the layman that the principal doctrine of Islam is what is actually practiced by those whom we consider to be extremist. Democratic principles of government, western concept of freedom and individual liberty, justice based on the rule of law, these concepts are as foreign to them as they were to the most ardent communist. These concepts are to be used by Muslims in the west as tactical maneuvers to one day be supplanted by Sharia law.

Mar 15, 2008 - 12:37 am 14. tanstaafl:

Although lying to the infidel/concealing the truth is, apparently, approved in Islam under the concept of taqiyya

The brother attributing the killings of his sisters to their boyfriends is baldfaced lying.

Such lying is a sin in Islam.

I found it “Presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) delivers a major policy address on the war in Iraq at George Washington University.”here

http://www.c-spanarchives.org/library/index.php?main_page=product_video_info&products_id=204456-1

This is Hillary’s foreign policy in the middle east – on the C-Span video.

I think her plan is a feminist plan much like the one I propose above.

Men broadcasters ignore the differences. If feminists were organized, we could make the policies more feminist as the work with women would be conscious and on-going.
Maryam Namazie writes:”In 1973, as a result of international attention and widespread opposition to the apartheid system in South Africa apartheid was recognized as a crime against humanity.
On the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, let’s together proclaim that sexual apartheid is a crime against humanity. ”
And start in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mar 17, 2008 - 5:16 pm 16. S321:

I agree with your commentary except for one thing….please do not call this an “honor” killing. Muslims are allowed to go into contracts, give their word and break both if its “allah’s will”. So to call it “honor” killing is simply wrong. Like the suicide bombings, its time to call these things what they are and not worrying what the brain dead idiots who practice them thinks about it. There was no “honor” killing two girls for NOTHING. There was no “honor” for the brother to see it progress to that point and not stop it. Its time to put the dad, the brother and the mother into PRISON FOR COLD BLOODED FIRST DEGREE MURDER. Then hopefully all three will be executed …lets hope.

Dear Madam,
It is murder. The Son needs to be immediately investigated for his roll in there death.
It is clear to see that that Islam has a very diabolical element that is out of control.
Your writing does an excellent job of shining the light on the wicked.

Lies about Jews are evil. Lies by anyone, Jews included, against Poles or Serbs are evil. Black-on Black crime has its analogue in all peoples. Jew-on-Jew crime occurs, too, in conjunction with hatred of Poles and Serbs has been dished out on Chesler Chronicles. See the following review by Jan Peczkis, manifestly NON anti-semitic Polish American:

The Magnitude of Jewish Informers and Gestapo Agents

Here is my review, recently posted at http://www.amazon.com. In contrast to the usual emphasis upon Polish informers featured in Holocaust materials, this memoir focuses on Jewish informers.

Review of The Cracow Pharmacy, by Tadeusz Pankiewicz (1947, 1987). Holocaust Library, New York
Reviewer: Mr. Jan Peczkis

Insights into the Krakow ( Cracow ) Ghetto, Emerging Knowledge of the Unfolding Holocaust, etc.

This memoir of ghettoized Polish Jews is unusual in that its author is a Polish gentile. He was the only non-Jew allowed to stay permanently in the ghetto, running its pharmacy. Consider the geographical setting: “And, in the distance, beyond the Vistula [Wisla], one could see Cracow with the tall hill of Wawel on whose steeple flew the hated flag of the swastika.” (p. 51).

German cruelties went far beyond fulfilling Nazi orders. Some Germans clearly enjoyed tripping crippled and blind Jews—and doing this repeatedly. (pp. 46-47).

Pankiewicz named 17 different known Jewish Gestapo agents and informers (p. 37) and discussed their acts (pp. 18-19, 35, 36, 74, 131-132, 135, etc.). This included the denunciation of Poles attempting to help Jews. (p. 38). Most of the informers were eventually killed by their German masters or liquidated by the Polish Underground.

How much of the unfolding Holocaust was known to 1942 Poles and Jews, at what level of detail and correctness, and at what time of that year? (David Engel has accused the Polish government-in-exile of intentionally halving the number of Jews it allegedly knew were killed up to that time. Pointedly, knowing of the fact of the mass deportations of Jews should not be confused with having an accurate estimate of the number killed vs. the number spared for forced labor). Knowledge of the events was sketchy at best. In June 1942, the Krakow Jews being sent to Belzec had supposed that they were being resettled to work camps in the Ukraine , or to secret German munitions factories (pp. 58-59). Rumors, but only that, gradually increased. Not until November 1942, by which time the vast majority of Polish Jews had already been murdered, did a shocking letter arrive at Cracow ghetto. It reported on Belzec: the moans of people in trains, the mysteriously-ending railway spur, the sights and smells of smoke, and the locals’ accounts of gassed and cremated Jews. (pp. 94-95).

The remnant Jews of the Cracow ghetto were sent to Plaszow (made famous by SCHINDLER’S LIST) in March 1943 (p. 123). Local Germans resisted this move, fearing that it would make them superfluous and therefore likely to be sent to the Russian front. (pp. 102-103, 128). (Oskar Schindler confessedly had similar mixed motives for wanting to save his Jews at all costs.)

Polish aid to Jews took many forms: ZEGOTA (pp. 147-148), smuggling medications, etc., into the ghetto (p. 31), providing dye for the hair of older Jews to make them look young enough to the Germans to spare them for forced labor (pp. 29-30), intercessions with receptive Germans on behalf of individuals (pp. 134-135), Polish Blue Police turning a blind eye to Jewish escapees (p. 129), etc. Pankiewicz himself helped Jews numerous times, and hid Torahs and other precious items for safekeeping following the dismantling of the ghetto. (p. 145).

Perennial complaints about Poles not doing enough to save Jews must be balanced by the fact that, as in the other ghettos, many Jews spurned proffered Polish help in favor of staying in the ghetto. This decision almost always doomed them. (p. 111).
