Dear Phyllis, great as per usual. There ain’t nothing thicker and more useless than a bus full of average Western intellectuals…except for a truck load of logs. “Address issues” means balls to me. I prefer effective action. In fact I’ve never addressed a single issue in my life and never will. Sadly, I’m one of the powerless nobodies who er, “care”. Fat lot a good, eh?

There is only one way to stop such mass murdering rapist torturing demons as the Janjaweed and their supporting corrupt and evil governments, and that’s dead…from the air and the ground. Kill them all as they say.

I have a house that a family of Sudanese are going to rent apparently. They have no Father. There’s only the Mother and three kids. I know little about them yet, but every second family still existing at all from that part of the world seems to be a tale of frustration and sorrow.

Hey, the Left ignore all of Africa unless there are some whites involved and even then. Idi Amin, Menghenistu, Bokasa, Charles Taylor’s Congo nightmare, Sudan and Mugabe etc, etc, are all ok with them. And the lying facade of such useless and hateful frauds are so dominant everywhere…er, damn them all to Hell, says I.

Yet many Western intellectuals seem incapable of reconsidering their belief that all Muslims are innocent victims while America and Israel are their victimizers…The situation in Darfur challenges their most sacred assumptions.

Indeed.

The rule of thumb among these self-anointed intellectuals is that if it doesn’t suit the narrative it is ignored.

Dangerously stupid people, these “western intellectuals”.

At the rally for Darfur I attended last year some of the speakers focused as much on Bush as on Sudan itself. (Not the Sudanese speakers though.) As if genocide could be reduced to a partisan political debate between Democrats and Republicans.

After hearing that, I felt that nothing would come of that rally. And I’m guessing that some of that kind of rhetoric will be flying around in the next few weeks. But I suspect that it won’t shorten Captain Steidle’s wait.

The candidates—both candidates—need to address this issue. They also need to address the case of Choudhuri. One can’t understand foreign policy if one does not see how vicious Islamism can be. Similarly, one can’t understand places like Bangladesh, which is not near Israel and has no dispute with it, without facing the fact that anti-Zionsim takes precedence over every other issue.
