Anti-Semitism Rears Its Ugly Head Right Here. See Two Comments at My Blogsite.

Folks: I have just published the following two comments in response to “The Coming Civil War in America.” These comments arrived in the afternoon of September 8, 2008.

The first, written by one “Jack Thomsen” reads as follows”:

“I like Palin, and might vote GOP if she was on the top of the ticket. Should she wake up in the VP mansion.. there will be a note under her pillow dispatching her to NRA rallies to boost enlistment of goy boys to die for Israeli expansionism…Sorry…the Neocons and Tel Aviv are still running the Republican Party… Palin is a NON ISSUE>… and will not receive my vote.”

Check it out, the Comment is posted at my blogsite.

Quickly enough, Thomsen’s thoughts are seconded by one “schnargley” who writes:

“I agree with Jack thomsen. This is an old story documented from many centuries ago in historical treatises such as “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.” While we on the Left have always been for pacifism and non-aggresion (we were even against the unprovoked war against the German people and invasion of Germany in the 1940’s) at times, as Sartre and Marcuse taught us, it has been necessary to resort to resistance and “necessary violence” as my comrades had to in St. Paul last week, before they were brutally assaulted and silenced.”

Join me in heaving a major, mighty sigh. Since I do not believe in censorship I have posted these two fairly odious comments. They are both anti-Semitic, anti-Jewish, anti-Israeli, anti-military, anti-Republican Party, and historically inaccurate–and that’s just for starters.

Oh, where to begin? The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a Russian (Christian)-crafted forgery; nothing of this kind was ever written by Jews. Tel Aviv is not behind sending “goy boys” to die for “Israeli expansionism.” In fact, Israel has been doing a lotta heavy lifting and absorbing a lotta hate meant for the West. Indeed, Israel has given up land (Gaza for example) for which it has absorbed even more rocket attacks against civilian Israelis. Finally, the “Left” has not really been “pacific.” Lenin, Stalin, and Mao were not pacifists. The angry, keffiyeh-wearing demonstrators who carry anti-American/anti-Israeli banners aloft and who call themselves “pro-Peace” are not for peace at all.

I wonder why such Jew-haters are commenting at my blogsite?

I suspect because there is no real danger in doing so. Were there REAL danger, their cowardice would be explicit, rather than implicit, as it is here.

Near and dear relatives of that great humanitarian, Noam Chomsky, no doubt.

Judging from the content of their posts, the first one appears to be a bitter neo-nazi and the second one a bitter communist, and I say bitter because the entire world is against them and even those on the left don’t want to live like complete schnooks. I’ll betcha they don’t even have jobs. Most likely they are unemployed, uneducated, and angry at the world that they rightly perceive has rejected them. I’ve gotten similar comments recently from Obamabots trolling the internet for anti-Obama posts, or anything that calls attention to Bill Ayers. They’ve lost the war and what you are hearing is the last gasps of dying memes.

Phyllis, there are lots of lots of their type around and, as we can see from the posts, some of them can even type. In fact, judging by the vast majority of the mainstream media these days, a lot of them can type. What amuses me about these characters is, if they had to stand and defend their country - or even themselves for that matter - they would immediately drop to their knees, whimpering!

Extremists on both ends of the spectrum share one commonality. The hatred of Jews is de riguer for both. Perhaps it is because Judeo-Christian values are the core of morality and these miscreants are immoral.
I personally don’t like the PC term “Anti-Semitism” why not just say Jew hate ? It was going on long before the death of Christ. Blaming the crucifixion on Jews was just another lie to perpetuate it…
They comment on your site for the same reason that my Israeli skype number is constantly called by Arabs. It is terrorism on a personal scale. It is beneath contempt.

Once again, the point has to be made: Buddhists and Hindus do nor instinctively and reflexively hate Jews. This is because Buddhists and Hindus owe nothing culturally or religiously to the Jews.

Christians and Muslims, whose faith is entirely derivative of Judaism, continually find fault with the Jews whom Christians and Muslims imagine themselves displacing and superceeding.

Paleo-Christians of generations past blamed the Jews for the execution on a Roman cross of Joshua (‘Jesus’ in Greek translation). Judas (read that, ‘Jew’) betrayed Joshua to the Romans. The Romans, innocents just doing what Pagans (Hellenes) ordinarily do, executed Joshua because the evil Jews had pulled the wool over their eyes and convinced them that Joshua was evil.

The Muslims believe that Mohammed was murdered by his (forced) Jewish wife. Both religions are fundamentally cultic and both accuse the Jews of murdering the object of their cult. Smells to high heaven in both cases.

Innocent George Bush, had the wool pulled over his eyes by the Neocons (read that Jews). The Jews are intent on taking over the world. A billion Christians and a billion Muslims are threatened by a scant and far flung several million Jews. Funny stuff.

Dr. Chesler is wasting her time arguing with the likes of schnargley and Thomsen. Their ancestors have been literate for a scant two hundred years, if that. Their faiths are wholly derivative. Their hatred of Jews is rooted in childish and pathetic jealousy.

In the classic Russian expression, Thomsen and Schnargley are hounds baying at the moon. So big, so bright, but oh, so remote.

Within the last 4 weeks, I have come up against anti-semitic remarks.. “hints” really, like, ‘it looks like McCain may choose that Jewboy for his v-p’; ‘I got money for that investment from 2 Jews in Vancouver…’; and today, talking about the Election, and right out of the blue, ‘the Jews in Florida will vote for Obama’… the latter remark there because of turdishness floating around on top of his mind..

I am convinced that anti-Semitism is a sign of fundamental weakness, on the part of an individual and (if it spreads) on the part of a nation.

A second cousin of mine didn’t get good enough grades to get into Law School. He pointed out to me that the School was favouring a bunch of neurotic Jews. It is no coincidence that that person has been a consistent failure throughout his life.

Sep 8, 2008 - 3:06 pm 8. Sylvie7:

What is pathetic about people who write anti Semitic comments to blogs such as yours, is the presumed “shock value” they have. Presumed of course by the adolescent male scribblers themselves.

These comments display no original thinking, incorrect historic references, trite assumptions about power, and just plain stupidity and lack of imagination. Why bother trying to clarify the nonsense they so fervently believe in? It hasn’t evolved factually or stylistically since the Dark Ages. However, it is written: ‘If someone is coming to murder you, get up earlier and beat him to it.’

Sep 8, 2008 - 3:14 pm 9. George Jochnowitz:

Extremes meet. The Protocols, forged by rightists in Czarist Russia, are cited by leftists. Nothing could be more right wing than radical Islamists, who persecute women and let the Palestinians remain poor and desolate in refugee camps despite their obscene wealth. Yet leftists side with Islam and will never say a word against honor murders.

Buddhists and Hindus have no tradition of anti-Semitism, but in Sri Lanka, both groups are ferociously anti-Israel. Anti-Zionism is the most powerful political force on earth, despite the fact that Israel is a small and unimportant country. As for Christians, Muslims, and Marxists, they are supersessionist. James Carroll said that it is logical for believers in a doctrine that grew out of Judaism to feel it was necessary to to replace the older doctrine because of its flaws. My review of Carroll’s book CONSTANTINE’S SWORD can be found on my website, http://www.jochnowitz.net.

It is important to print the words of anti-Semites so that everyone can see what they are saying and trying to do.

Aggression on German people?

This dude have no idea about history. Really.

BTW: Nazi propaganda claimed, that Poland started war first (in fact it was German false-flag op, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleiwitz_incident), so maybe this waco is in fact a neo-nazi, who is worshipping Hitler.

Sep 8, 2008 - 4:35 pm 11. epaminondas:

Why do they make such comments?

Because the dialectic of the left today makes it kosher.

The dialectic must be correct, therefore facts must be adjusted.

Sep 8, 2008 - 7:20 pm 12. Avi:

For me, it’s simple. I judge others by what they think of me, my home and my people. Because of this, I have had to abandon both the right and the left. The left, as you have shown again and again, couches its anti-Semitism in anti-Zionism. The right displays everything from outright bigotry to new-world-order conspiracies to phony friendship masking some horrific eschatological condemnation, followed by conflagration. Credence is given to all manner of insanity, issued by both right and left: Jews arranged the 9/11 attacks and got the “special phone call” to stay home that day. The new world order is dawning, backed by the greedy machinations of the Rothschilds in cahoots with the Queen. Jews are descended from alien lizard people who scheme to alter genetically, and then to enslave, humanity (I wish I were joking about this one). Israel has reduced the USA to a proxy state that must fight Israel’s wars. Again, these ideas are evinced by both the right and the left. Thanks, but no thanks.

As a Jew, I like the pilpul, i.e., fine-grained analysis and argument. I try to keep friendships across the divide, in spite of the fact that American culture does not promote friendship or discussion, especially with those with whom one disagrees (not to mention the pervasive anti-intellectualism). Many times, I have been shocked by being cut off completely, once it is revealed that I am Jewish and Israeli and, here’s the clincher, I’m proud of both. Don’t we all know that little moue of distaste, that slip of the tongue during an argument, that stare? Anti-Semitism is never that far beneath the surface. Why are they posting here? Alas, they are everywhere.

Sep 8, 2008 - 9:14 pm 13. david levavi:

What is darkly amusing about modern, secular Socialists, whether they be rightist National Socialists or leftist International Socialists, is their easy slide into medieval superstition regarding the Jews. George Orwell compared anti-Semitism (including his own early in his career) to belief in witchcraft.

Why does a five-foot-eight Jew loom eight-foot-five in the imagination of a contemporary Twenty-first Century Jew hater? Because while Jews and the modern Jewish state are numerically and geographically tiny, Jewish ability is enormous.

Unwilling to attribute Jewish success to cultural and intellectual superiority, Jew-haters revert to deeply ingrained mythology. Ostensibly secular and sophisticated Jew-haters mask their superstition in crude notions of genetics and economics. But at the source, their prejudices are rooted in classic religious fantasy as often as not, projecting their own shortcomings.

Almost all of us can occasionally generalize.
Unfortunately, people who encounter one unpleasant Jewish looking or dressed person, will often generalize.

Philis defends the Jewish cause almost as intensely, and some antisemites hate us.

We need Israeli and Jewish leaders who do not corrupt us. The rest will be easy.

Sep 9, 2008 - 8:42 am 15. Eamonn:

A word of advice to David Levavi, if I may. David, your two posts do as much to encourage dislike of the Jewish community as anything I have seen recently. I am a Christian (a Catholic, actually) and I like or dislike Jewish people as I find them. To me, they are no more likeable or dislikeable, no more superior or inferior, than a non-Jewish person. As far as I am aware, my Catholic and non-Catholic friends feel the same way. However, you come on here and you proclaim that Jewish success is attributable to “cultural and intellectual superiority”! To be totally honest, David, in my book that one statement suggests to me that I would have to list you as one of the “unlikeables”. Not because you are Jewish, understand, but because of your stated feeling of superiority over the rest of us. You should understand that the Jewish community is neither inferior nor superior. In intellect and/or God given talent, some may be superior, some may be inferior. From the more general, global aspect, the Golden Rule is that all men - and women - are EQUAL. It is statements such as yours which causes trouble in the world.

Sep 9, 2008 - 11:37 am 16. cedarford:

Lost control of part of the hypertext in my post, by not closing off some italics. This version might be a little more reader friendly.

Part of the problem is that there is a long tradition of Jewish activism to “reshape” societies they are a minority in, even if most in that society doesn’t want transformation. Using disproportionate clout - in part achieved by what commentor David Levavi arrogantly calls here on this thread: Jewish success (due) to cultural and intellectual superiority.

Which results in open manifestation of heavy Jewish involvement and leadership in controversial groups, causes that convulse societies.

And it is a little hard to then demand that those societies pay close attention to other influential, powerful groups for their possible subversions - while demanding in parallel that notice of Jewish power and clout not be mentioned as “anti-Semitic bigotry”.

Freely discuss the clout of christian Texas oilmen, but not Jewish Wall Street financiers.
Complain vigorously of the harmful, disproportionate clout of Cuban-Americans in foreign affairs, but do not mention the Jews involved with AIPAC or the neocons. That is off-limits.
Ignore the prominent role of Jews in 20th Century radicalism, the Communist democide in the Soviet Union. But freely discuss other ethnicities with power beyond their numbers in critical sectors in America and globally.

It’s also more than a little hard to ignore the present impact of Jews and pretend to understand power politics in America.

If Jews wish to avoid such scrutiny they would be better off refraining from forcing their involvement in the affairs of others…be more like Scots-Irish, Filipinos, Japanese Americans that seek reduced frictions and disruptions in favor of “keeping to their own business” “seeking harmonious society”. But many Jews would scorn that as taking the road to mediocrity…and how can they do that when they are - as Levavi says - so culturally and intellectually superior to other groups?

It does seem though that the strategy of Jews seeking a perpetual immunity amulet from criticism by counting on claims of superior victimhood doesn’t work if the reality is of great Jewish power, wealth, and influence. And historical “woe is us!” claims fade from living memory, and from having emotional power. Such an immunity amulet cannot be claimed while agressively wielding power and clout to force reshaping lives of others, national culture. Which some, with no systemic anti-Jewish bias rooted in irrationality or their non-Jewish religions or upbringing - sincerely call excessive Jewish meddling.

Screaming “Anti-Semitism! Anti-Semitism!” on every incident when others push back against Jewish activist campaigns - is a strategy of diminishing returns. It doesn’t just diminish the force of a true accurate charge of anti-Semitism against a bigot - by assailing anyone with a critique of Israel’s actions or a critique of a radical Jew they detest, it causes other impressions to rise:

1. By venomously attacking the character and motive of any critic, where anti-Semitism is just one charge laid out in what the public sees as a coordinated assault (see Walt, Meershiem) - the question gets raised - “Do the Jews indeed have something to hide given the instant bluster and threats and teamwork against a critic?”

2. It fosters a belief that “The Jews”, as a group, are far more coordinated and working together on agenda than the actuality of Jewsih internal debate and factionalism.

3. By ripping into any observation of excessive radical Left Jewish clout, when such clout unquestionably exists and others honestly see it harming rule of law, public safety, culture - Jews shape the public perception to be even more negative towards the Jews. It must not be just clout, where Jews have a close majority of the say in Hollywood and what the ACLU does (Jews are about 27% of members and 40% of ACLU policy-makers) the general public reasons. No, the way they attacked over the questioning of their disproportionate clout must mean it goes past clout, to dominance. And attacks on critics are to maintain that dominance.

4. For a bright people, that take pride in their ability to influence and persuade others, Jews can be quite stupid in collective actions. And breed resentments.

They justly “held the bag” for their excesive enthusiasm and prominance in American Communist activities 1910-1950, and for all the A-Bomb spies Stalin used against us being Jewish.
With Sarah Palin, NYC Jew after NYC Jew in the media punditry class - mostly enamored of Obama - rushed to spin the narrative of her “grotesque, ignorant, unprogressive Christian beliefs that only dumb trailer trash goyim in Flyover country” swallow.
What the public saw was Jew after Jew trashing her and her Christianity. All the Rick Cohens, Josh Micah Marshalls, Froma Harrops, Leon Wieseltiers, Keith Olbermanns, Bilkl Mahers, Harold Meyersons, Gloria Steinhams, David Schusters, Allan Colmes types rushing to outdo one another in their complete contempt of this woman and her intellect and Christian hypocrisy.
That she had Gentile critics as well was sort of lost in the flood of elitist media Jews bashing her and belittling Fundie notions and her “family foolishness, betrayal of her motherly duties, and not getting a sensible abortion”.
That will not play well outside NYC and other elitist redoubts. Not for diminishing Palin with those smear tactices, not for enhancing Jews reputation.

re “nothing of this sort (Protocols):
“In April 1993, French television journalist Jacques Merlino visited the Washington headquarters of Ruder Finn Global Public Affairs to interview the man in charge of the Balkan contracts, James Harff. Merlino asked Harff what he considered his proudest achievement in this operation. The answer: “Having succeeded in putting Jewish opinion on our side.” The image of both Croats and Bosnian Muslims risked being tarnished by their involvement in the persecution of Jews during World War II. “Our challenge was to turn that around”, Harff told Merlino, and this had been done thanks to the “camps” story.

In the first days of August 1992, the Long Island newspaper Newsday published reports from its Bonn correspondent Roy Gutman, based on interviews in Zagreb, telling of horrendous conditions in Serb-run internment camps in Bosnia. Seeing the potential impact of comparison with Nazi “death camps”, Ruder Finn immediately contacted three major Jewish organizations, the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Committee, and the American Jewish Congress, suggesting they publicly protest. They did. This launched the demonization of Serbs as the new Nazis. In 1993, Ruder Finn was awarded the Silver Medal of the Public Relations Society of America in the category “crisis communication”.

I have no problem with Sarah Palin’s choices regarding her family and religious life. I haven’t noticed Jewish people trashing her for who she is. But her public polities make her absolutely unacceptable to me as vice president. She would deny safe legal abortions even to women who are victims of rape and incest. Carrying this to its logical conclusion would mean a society where women die because in their desperation they go to unsafe practitioners. It seems that McCain wanted Joe Leiberman has his veep but capitulated to the extreme right. He might well do the same as president. It is not abortion alone, though that is important. It is a mind set that I find frankly alien. I don’t get how anyone would preserve a early term, unformed embryo, still just a mass of undifferentiated cells, at the expsnse of the sanity of say a fourteen year old girl who has been raped. For this and other reasons, I choose Obama and Biden.

Maybe if you started using your given name and not hiding behind a pseudonym, habibi, somebody might take you seriously. A lifelong hiker and camper, I’d wager I’ve spent far more time among cedars than you have. Tramped through virgin cedar swamp just last week.

I don’t waste my time arguing with anti-Semites. Especially twisted, self-hating Jewish anti-Semites. I know you think your screeds are funny. They aren’t. You imagine yourself a gadfly. You’re not.

So take your meds, Habibi. Have a drink. Smoke a joint. And stop polluting the ether.
