Quietly, deftly, persistently, cunningly, Sharia law has become the law of the land in Britain in matters of divorce, finances, and domestic violence. Yes–domestic violence. Of course, both parties have to request this alternate dispute resolution model of justice but I bet the British-Muslim women who “choose” to inherit radically less than their brothers and who “choose” not to press criminal charges against their husband-batterers are not making a free choice. In order to remain within their faith and family communities they must submit to Sharia law or risk ostracism, isolation, or the possibility of being honor murdered.
Sheikh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi took advantage of a clause in the British Arbitration Act of 1996 and, as the head of the Muslim Arbitration Tribunal has set up Sharia courts in London, Birmingham, Bradford and Manchester. Two more courts are being planned for Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Sheikhs are also comparing themselves to British Jews who “choose” to go to a Jewish court (a Bet Din). However, a Bet Din does not deal with domestic violence per se and has no enforcement powers.
Various “merchants of hatred” aka Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed, (stripped of his British citizenship but preaching in London via satellite), and his next-in-command, Anjem Choudary, are predicting that the Islamic flag will soon be flying over 10 Downing Street and they may be right. They are banking on British Muslim population growth and conversions. I note that they are not yet talking about taking over Harry Potter’s Hogwarts School or Buckingham Palace but surely the flight of uncensored imagination as well as the British royal monarchy’s days might well be numbered.
Then, there is the fatwa just issued against Sir Paul McCartney of the Beatles if he dares perform in Tel Aviv as part of Israel’s 60th anniversary celebration. When the various anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian groups failed to persuade Sir Paul to cancel his engagement, they sent in the fatwas. I hope Sir Paul gets an entire unit of elite soldiers to guard him against this horrifying intimidation.
And, while all this is happening, (not to mention the burying alive of Muslim girls and women in the Pakistani Badlands, the violent closure of girls’ schools in Afghanistan, the kidnapping and forced conversions of Christian girls, also in Pakistan)–Hollywood delivers up unto us a religious Muslim hero, played by Don Cheadle who, at great risk, takes on the “bad” Islamist terrorists but in the name of Islam. I only wish. Perhaps such heroes will emerge; perhaps they already exist by the drove. But at this moment in history, Hollywood should try to be a little more even-handed. By the by: The Islamic terrorists in The Traitor are either presented as soulfully sympathetic or as too shadowy to really care about.
Does an Islamic flag already fly over Hollywood? I fear it does. It would be another matter if that flag, like the burqa, did not symbolize jihad and hatred of America–if, for example, it meant that Americans are super-trendy, even honorary Europeans. That is not the case. Hollywood seems to be the first kid on the block to assume a full Dhimmi position.

1. George Jochnowitz:A fatwa is issued against Paul McCartney, and it hasn’t yet made the mainstream media. This is even more shocking than the absence of news about the verdict of the French court about al-Dura.
Sep 15, 2008 - 12:04 pm 2. Tom:I’m afraid Britain is lost. Fundamentalism of any stripe is primitive but…modern secular humanism has utterly demoralized the West. It seems to have been sucked dry from the inside out. No strength, no zing, no will to even live. The Brits actually give money to Islamic groups to HELP FIGHT EXTREMISM! That’s like donating money to the Nazi Party to help combat anti-semitism. Amazing. It appears history is now passing the final Darwinian Judgement on modern Liberalism: DEATH. Just a generation or two and they’re gone, taking the jewels of Western civlization with them. Here come the shadows of the long dark night.

Louis Santacroce:Unfortunately (not that I have anything against Paul), the fatwa against McCartney –especially if he comes close to being harmed — will probably do more to hip the world to just how demented and determined these people are than all their other atrocities combined.

Where are all the surrogates, Ads, media contacts punching McCain hard on Economy on all sides? …
Also, we need some surrogates to start to spread the mesage, very slowly, that having Palin as VP is scary. This needs to be done but very subtle. And we need to use her with our Jewish friends, like Koch, to drive the message that Palin is not a good chice for Jewish voters at all…..
We need to act fast and show we are fighting for it. In this way people will feel that Obama will be strong in National Security.
Sep 15, 2008 - 9:32 pm 5. Concerned Citizen:Here is an additional comment from the website. It is a look into some of the thinking that goes along with the campaign’s attempts to take advantage of Senator McCain’s age. The implication in this post that the campaign should impugn the mental status of veterans should concern veterans and anyone who knows a veteran.

Dear Sen. Obama, (Do Not Post)
For sometime we have seen many so called gaffes
by McCain. In addition, we see him change his
stance on policies. Maybe he just doesn’t
REMEMBER WHAT HE SAID. The average age of onset
of Alzeimhers is 74, with one out of every four
people having the disease. In listening to
Claire McCaskill this weekend, I was thinking
she has got the right idea it just needs to be
expanded with details added. Also, ONE out of every TWO people at age 80 have the disease according the the supreme court justice who recently had pleaded for more
research for the disease.
President Clinton, mentioned how many times
the military men come home and to stated as
he did “These mens brains just don’t work right”.
He quoted a war veteran’s complaints to him saying
his body was intact but his brain wasn’t.
You could use this to cause americans to
question McCain’s ability to make decisions now and while he is president. He is a post war veteran and probably suffered more than
one blow to the head, although he could have just
had his head bashed in at one of the many bar
fights he use to get in. Additionally, he is 73
isn’t he, I am not sure maybe it is 72, he
gets his facts mixed up. In one video he stated
Putin was the President of Germany!
I think he is either having severe memory loss or
is just so dishonest he really doesn’t even
realize when he is telling a lie.
To sum it up, just start speaking about the military’s men todays problems with “brain problems” then take
the topic to how Alzheimers affecting so many people today and express the need for more research in this area. Then quote statistics about average age of onset. Maybe make a commercial bringing awareness to this horrid disorder that is affecting many individuals and families.
Talk to you later,

So far as I know, Sir Paul is defying the fatwas and going to Israel regardless. If he does – then whether the Muslims kill him or not, he will have *earned* his Knighthood. A verray parfit gentyl knyht, as Chaucer says. And better to die, standing with the House of Israel, in Jerusalem, standing forth as Righteous Among the Nations, than to live a craven coward.
Somebody send him a note of encouragement with Oriana Fallaci’s quote from Pericles as used in her epilogue to the Force of Reason: “The secret of happiness is freedom; and the secret of freedom is courage”.

Sep 27, 2008 - 7:21 am 9. Rockmelon:Paul McCartney must go to Israel to retain his freedom. If he would back down just because Muslims issued a Fatwa then he would no longer be free; he would be under the control of Islam.
So he has proven that not all Brits are cowards! Good for you Sir Paul. Show those countrymen of yours what real men do!
