The Fourth (Islamist) Reich in America: “Attack” Protesters On the Move

As long as we allow hate sermons to flourish in mosques and hate speech to dominate both the campus and the public square in America–the closer we are to The Fourth (Islamist) Reich in America. This ugly reality has already come to parts of Europe.

EUROPE
In the last few days, loud, ugly, hate-fest marches against Israel have taken place all across Europe, from England to Germany to Greece. Hate demonstrators tried to storm the Israeli Embassy in London and mocked and abused a British police officer. Allow me to focus only on Belgium.

In Antwerp, on December 30, 2008, the Arab European League organized an anti-Israel Intifada–but against Flemish Jews! First, they marched. Then, they “got completely out of hand.” After the protest disbanded the demonstrators marched towards the Jewish neighborhood in Antwerp, clashing with the police, smashing car windows, trams and buses. The police had to seal the Jewish quarter up, beef up their forces, outrun and outwit the marchers who were intent on harming or killing Jews.

To protest an alleged assault upon innocent civilians (each one hiding a Hamas operative intent upon launching rockets at innocent civilians in Israel), the Islamic-left mob assaults other innocent civilians in Antwerp. In any event, the Jews have been warned to avoid certain areas. According to Michael Freilich, of the Jewish newspaper Hodds Actueel, many Jews “don’t dare anymore to go out on the streets in the area of the demonstrators. They fear vandalism and violence.” Jews have been told to avoid the Diamond district and certain other areas.

THE MIDDLE EAST AND ASIA
Twenty thousand people formed mobs in at least three cities across Egypt to demonstrate against Israel; the demonstrators were mainly organized by the (banned) Muslim Brotherhood. Ten thousand Muslims marched against Israel in Indonesia. Some Iranian Jews, (there are about 30,000 still held captive by the maniacal mullahs), also demonstrated against the “Zionist” assault upon the Iranian-backed terrorist organization, Hamas. Demonstrations against Israel also took place in the Philippines. (I would have imagined demonstrations here would be against Saudi Arabia for torturing and indenturing their citizens who work in the Kingdom; I am such a dreamer). One placard in Melbourne, Australia read: “Stop the Subhuman Zionist Land grabbing Barbarian’s Mass Murder in Occupied Palestine.” (Hat tip for this to Pamela Gellar of Atlas Shrugged).

SOUTH AMERICA
Of course, of course: In Chavez’s Venezuela, where else? The signs, in Spanish, describe what Israel is doing as a “massacre” and as “genocide.”

SOUTH PACIFIC AND NORTH AMERICA
Anti-Israel demonstrations have taken place all across Canada and across the United States. I have previously written about such demonstrations in Boston, Ft. Lauderdale, New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. I now have more information in about similar demonstrations in Dearborn, Michigan (there were at least 1,000 Muslims and their supporters against one lone Christian Zionist); Lexington, Kentucky (organized by CAIR, the Islamic Society of Central Kentucky, and the Kentucky Muslim Student Association); Minneapolis, Minnesota; Norfolk, Virginia; Phoenix, Arizona; and Tampa, Florida.

THIS JUST IN FROM MY INFORMANT IN SAN FRANCISCO, MELODY BIER:

“My husband just called me from downtown S.F…he went to counter demonstrate against the jihadis…since there was a threat of violence we decided I shouldn’t go. When our little group (consisting of 5 middle aged people) arrived, the jihadis went berserk… The jihadis tried to storm the barricades and just about made it to our group and were trying to grab my friends when the police finally stepped in and had to escort my friends away from the street in the back of a police car! Here…in California…here in America! But of course the news will not show the jihadis foaming at the mouth and threatening to kill us…that would be “insensitive” to a religion of “peace”. I am sickened more each day. Please keep up the good work and don’t let them silence your voice!”

I won’t.

THIS JUST IN FROM MY INFORMANT IN LOS ANGELES, ALLYSON ROWAN TAYLOR

“We ended up doing two rallies on Jan 2nd. The first one at the Federal Building turned out to be a pro Israel rally as the other side never showed up! They moved their time to 4:30 pm to get into the Shabbat times, knowing the orthodox Jews could not come out.

The rally in front of the Federal Building was fantastic! We had a huge Israeli flag, that once flew over the Knesset, a sound system for chants and music, and over 500 people came out. We cheered and sang, and had hundreds of cars honking their horns. Major media was there, from Fox to CNN. It was just what the community needed, Jews,Christians, Latinos, all together showing solidarity against terrorism. Then, after a brief break to eat and warm up, we went to the Consulate to face a hostile crowd, who saluted us with the Sieg Heil, and told us we are doing things worse than the gas chambers. (I guess the fact they even acknowledge there were gas chambers is a learning curve!) Swastikas on the Israel flag, upside down American Flags, the typical signs of racism and holocaust being done by Israel. Chants saying Palestine will be free from the Jordan to the sea. One group took the Israeli flag, put it on the gound, spit on it, and lit it on fire. There were flags that had a picture of a Jew, from Der Stummer, in place of the stars on the American flag, with dollar signs over the stripes. They had star of David Flags, with blood dripping.”

A family of Arabs was walking through the area we were staged to cross the street. I had a scarf on my neck with the stripes of the flag of Israel. A child, about nine or ten, took the end of my scarf and pulled it, choking me. I tried to alert the cops, but ended up scolding the child and told him to “take his hands off of my scarf…NOW!) and he dropped it. But a scuffle started when his mother, who probably taught her young child to disrespect Jewish people, spit on a protestor near me, and started to swing at him, when a Pro Israel protestor tried to break it up with an American Flag . The cops swarmed in, and riot police, and escorted them the other side of the street.

There were many men who were provacoteurs on the opposition side. They were trying to start a fight, and egg on a response from us to get into an altercation. We, as a group, collectively decided not to let them drag us into combat. They were loud, but we got louder. When the students arrived, kids from UCI, UCLA, and Bnei Akiva, they started drumming chants on the post boxes, and were drowning out the Hamas chants. They started to sing Am Yisrael Chai, and we sang in Shabbat. It was amazing. The rally lasted for three long, cold hours.

It was like a mini battle of Gaza.

The media was there, but none choose to take pictures of the sieg heils or the swastikas. The only signs the LA Times showed were End the Occupation..what wimps.”

TIMES SQUARE, NYC

One eyewitness-participant estimated that between 75-100 pro-Israel counter-demonstrators and between 3,000-4,000 pro-Hamas/anti-Israel demonstrators were there.

More such hate-fest demonstrations are being planned for this weekend in New York City, (again), Boston, (again), Washington D.C., Christiansburg, Virginia, St. Petersburg, Florida, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Chicago, Illinois, Lawrence, Kansas, Minneapolis, Minnesota (again), Springfield, Missouri, Youngstown, Ohio, San Francisco, (again) and Seattle, Washington.

What is important is what the signs are saying, what individual Generation Jihadist are saying to their opponents and what they are chanting. Pamela Gellar/Atlas has sent around some of the signs that will be used tomorrow in yet another protest against Israel which will start in the early afternoon on 42nd St in NYC. Every single sign is tantamount to a ‘blood libel” against the Jewish people. The signs include: “Stop the Massacre–Boycott Israel;” “Stop Israeli War Crimes;” “Stop the Genocide;” “Yes We Can! Stop the Genocide in Gaza;” “Yes We Can! Stop US Military Aid to Israel;” “Zionism=Racism;” “Israel=Apartheid South Africa.”

Israel is committing no war crimes (only Hamas is), nor is Israel committing “massacres” or “genocide” in Gaza. Finally, Israel is not an apartheid state.

What are the possible results of so many people taking to the streets, again and again, to hold up Big Lie signs and scream and chant Big Lie slogans? With help from the mainstream media, this might indoctrinate even more people. It might also frighten and demoralize some Jews and some Israelis. It might also encourage the haters to exercise more ugly “muscle” in the public square. However, I doubt that such close-minded “haters” represent more than a small percent of Americans. There is still time to reach the non-haters in our country.

In fact, these demonstrations may actually backfire. If enough democracy-minded Americans go out and take note that such haters are living amongst us, in our midst, they might begin to understand how Israelis might feel, day and night, month after month, and year after year, surrounded by irrational and hostile forces that do not want to compromise or negotiate, but only to scream hatred and to launch homicide bombers and rockets against the objects of their excessive hatred. In turn, Americans may begin to ask themselves whether they want the “Arab street” and the “Arab mob” to really take over America.

I have no problem with Muslims who live here and who want to assimilate into an “American” way of life and who choose to practice their religion privately and quietly. Please understand: I have been told, time and again, by people I respect, that these new hard-line Muslim leaders cannot and will not do this. They want America to become an Arab Middle Eastern country and they want to live here as if that is already the reality. Thus, I have a serious problem with mosques, universities, and international propaganda groups which indoctrinate and unleash such lynch-mob potential within their followers.

Don’t you?

Dear Phyllis – this is very bad. I am hoping and praying that enough pro-Israel anti-Jihad people will get themselves organised and get up and out – together – in the Americas, in the UK, in Europe, in Australia – to challenge this garbage. It will take a considerable degree of courage.

But imagine if in Dearborn, say, instead of 1000 hate mobsters versus one (very very brave) Christian Zionist, it had been 1000 hate mobsters versus 5000 to 10 000 Friends of Zion?

We’ve got to start reversing the numbers – more pro-Israel, pro-India, pro-freedom demonstrators, visibly on the street. And then let the glaring contrast between the atrocious conduct of the hate mobsters, and the conduct of the Friends of Zion, speak for itself.

Jan 2, 2009 - 1:06 pm 2. Henrik R Clausen:

There’s also the problem of attacking Jews whereever they’re found. Like in Denmark:

http://tundratabloid.blogspot.com/2009/01/denmark-you-tube-video-surfaces-that.html

We need to take very good care of our Jewish friends, anywhere.

Jan 2, 2009 - 1:23 pm 3. Helen Freedman:

Excellent overview of a terrifying situation. I’m afraid I have to dampen Phyllis’ optimism that these “demonstrations will backfire and arouse Americans to wake up to the menace of the Muslim mobs. Americans were too busy enjoying themselves when the years of plenty were with us, and are now too wrapped up in their personal economic concerns to pay attention to what the “Arab street” is shouting and doing here in America. They’ll wake up when it’s too late, and ask, “How did this happen?” I also think it’s interesting that they are embracing the “Yes, we can” slogan. That has a menacing connotation all its own.

Jan 2, 2009 - 1:52 pm 4. Nancy Kobrin, Ph.D.:

Excellent piece, Phyllis. Now is the time for new laws to be formulated concerning this specific kind of incitement targeting the Jew and Israel. Boundaries must be set otherwise the aggression will feed aggression.

Jan 2, 2009 - 2:19 pm 5. Tom:

The situation is more and more looking identical to Germany, and the world, in the late 1930’s. The Islamic Supremecist mobs are identical in purpose and attitude to the National Socialist Brownshirts, who patrolled the streets and targeted any opposition groups for violence, including murder. Krystalnacht is an example of such Mobs in action. The average American is not just busy or preocccupied but has been mentally neutered by Political Correctness indoctrination, ie, Brainwashing. The media is not simply “biased” but actually functions as an enemy force waging professional level Psychological Warfare against us, from within. And who owns the media? Why is that international bankers fill up the board of directors of these giant corporations? But yes, it is 1938 all over again…the storm is looming and the dark thunderheads are beginning to blot out the sun…soon they shall be over us.

Jan 2, 2009 - 2:31 pm 6. George Jochnowitz:

In addition to all the other places in the world where anti-Israel demonstrations are taking place, there was one in Tokyo. I learned about it from a photograph on the front page of the December 31 edition of CHINA DAILY, which I subscribe to. There was no news story, merely a caption saying “Call for peaceL Itranian children hold placards beside candles during a rally in front of the Israeli embassy in Tokyo yesterday. About 200 people staged a peaceful rally in Japan against Israel’s strikes in Gaza and called for a stop to the violence. The placards read ‘Stop Killing in Gaza’ and “don’t Kill Children.’”

The photograph was of three girls in headscarves and the signs were in Farsi and Japanese. The caption (in a newspaper run by the Chinese government) was implicitly supporting the demonstration.

Jan 2, 2009 - 3:29 pm 7. Debbie:

Comment to Nancy Kobrin, I respectfully disagree with the requirement of “new laws.” New laws would only backfire and make it illegal to call out Islamic violence and bigotry when we see it. Even post 9/11, Jews are still the top religious group to be victims of hate crimes according to FBI stats.

Another problem is that these Islamic and left-wing protesters have all the time in the world to protest because they obviously don’t have jobs. I work and can’t jump from city to city protesting or counter-protesting (as much as I’d love to). They’re highly funded and highly organized. Protesting IS their job.

Maybe we should make t-shirts with a picture of the protesters and a caption, “your tax dollars at work since they aren’t.”

Jan 2, 2009 - 3:55 pm 8. Lynn:

I was once told by a young Palestinian “I know my rights”. I told her that her rights end where mine begin, and I knew mine too. She was agitated because I had asked her to please, stop using my crew for her personal needs, they had work to finish which I pay them for. I was not paying them to move her furniture or watch her children or move her car and wash it. She obviously felt it was “her right” to treat them as personal servants on my dollar. It was the first time I was treated as a dhimmi, and it was the very last time. I didn’t fight for equal rights to give them up to a crackpot religion!

Jan 2, 2009 - 6:52 pm 9. nyc resident:

Considering the number of Jews I have observed who love rhetorical violence and venomous hatred when directed at President Bush, I would say that seeing this kind of demonstration is a case of people getting what they asked for.

Jan 2, 2009 - 7:45 pm 10. Denny, Alaska:

Could someone again please explain how Islam is the “religion of peace?” Thank you.

Jan 2, 2009 - 7:46 pm 11. FriendlyTxn:

I wish I could do more to support Israel. Would join a counter protest if I lived close to a big city. Keep up your great work of informing people, speaking truth to vileness! I really believe that the more the light is shone on jihadists, the more the world is repulsed by them. So while it’s painful to watch, they are exposing themselves in all their ugly nastiness.

Jan 2, 2009 - 7:49 pm 12. Xiaoding:

I wish the young Israelis all the luck, in their fight. I say young, because, from what I’ve seen of the old, they are nothing but a bunch of knish eating surrender monkeys. If they feel a coup is in order, God Bless the Israeli Army!!

As for American Jews…do you think they have any fight in them? Liberal voting, to the end of time, anti-gun, cowardly folk in general. The whole lot could be pushed into the Atlantic, and it wouldn’t be just the Arabs cheering! Why should “we” look out for them, those who won’t fight for themselves, and who prevent others from defending themselves too? To hell with them. They deserve to die in the street, for want of a gun, and the guts to use it. I am mostly disgusted by the American Jew, and I will not fight for those who will not fight for themselves.

As for the left having professional protestors, maybey the right, could, slowly, s-l-o-w-l-y, develop their own? It would behoove the Jews to do the same. Such protestors were used to great effect in Florida, where are they now?

Jan 2, 2009 - 7:56 pm 13. Melody Caine Bier:

I have attended many anti jihadi demonstrations this week, and let me tell you it terrifying out there. I urge everyone to please stand up and be counted. We can’t stay in our comfortable bubble anymore. I grew up hearing so many personal stories about Germany in the 30s…and it IS VERY SIMILAR to what I have been seeing in the streets. If we don’t do something about it NOW we soon will have lost our rights. As it is now it is NEVER reported when the jihadis act violently. And let me tell you how personally chilling it is to have someone come up to you and call you a Jew dog and how they are planning to kill you. Believe me when I tell you…these really ARE jihadis in the truest sense. We have to ACT NOW.

“But imagine if in Dearborn, say, instead of 1000 hate mobsters versus one (very very brave) Christian Zionist, it had been 1000 hate mobsters versus 5000 to 10 000 Friends of Zion?”

You’d be accused of using excessive and disproportionate force against the hate mobsters, of course.

(I’m not saying you’d be violent in any way, shape, or form)

Jan 2, 2009 - 8:07 pm 16. Melody Caine Bier:

Of course…we’re guilty of being disproportionate while their violence stems from their “oppression”. They do not want peace, they just want to keep getting “pieces” of Israel. My group consists of 15-20 middle aged men and women. Again I ask…where are the young people? We need your help, we need your physical support.A middle aged woman was almost attacked tonight & had to be escorted away in a police car. We are losing our country!!

As an African-American Muslim, I state that Islam is a religion of peace! So is the Jewish religion! But, the Racist Zionist State of Israel (occupied Palestine) is a stripe of land created by European/Western countries by the UN in 1948. Since occupation the Racist Zionists Jews have inflicted terror and genocide against the palestinians (original inhbitants of th land, as their European/White Brethern (the Boars of South Africa) inflicted on Black Africans. Perfect solution: Take half of Germany and Poland. Palestinians did not send Jews to the gas chambers, it was the Germans and other Christians of Europe. Botttom line: The Arabs are now paying the price for Europe’s sins against the Jews!!!! Remember: It was the Muslim that saved the Jews during the period of the Christian inquisition in Europe!!!! At the end, the illegal non religious State if Israel, and it’s diabolical racist government will face the wrath of Allah (God).

When are all the ‘real’ Jewish people and those Americans that are willing to stand up against the progessive liberals and radicla Muslims going to protest? How about Saturday in San Francisco? Lets all agree to meet at the protest site!

Have we yet reached the point where we can stop endlessly pointing out, to each other, that the enemy isn’t concerned about playing by the rules and demonstrating their innate moderation as we are?

Our enemies don’t have the slightest desire to express moderation, hear all sides, be compassionate, and on and on and on. Our enemies want us dead or subjugated and are willing to blow up trucks full of explosives near crowds, hijack schools and execute children, fly planes into buildings, rape for Allah, and throw acid for modesty.

Yet, every time some flareup of Muslim indignation occurs the same people who have been eccellent in pointing out the viciousness and unified response of our enemy claim they are “shocked, shocked” the barbarians are being barbaric.

We need to start acting as if the plain truth we see in front of us is real and stop reverting endlessly back to turn the other cheek to see if our public indignation about their barbarity will persuade any of our enemy, the fifth column, or the useful idiots to notice barbarians are being barbaric.

If you had rampagin grizzly bears in the streets you wouldn’t spend much effort in documenting their animal behavior you would call the authorities, load your weapons, and put as many holes in the bear to remove the threat.

The moderate Muslims are only those you can see risking their life to reign in the jihadist. All other Muslims are giving aid and comfort to the jihadist through active and passive means. When you give any Muslim the benefit of the doubt but you can’t identify his active opposition to the jihadist goals you are deluding yourself and those you influence. We can’t afford that and giving them the benefit of the doubt, after all these years is rapidly approaching giving them aid and comfort.

Why do the Jews continue to vote for Democrats? None of the hate groups Phyllis described are tied to Conservative ideals or Conservative politicians. When have the Democrats ever been a true friend of Israel or lately, even Democracy?
Let me explain it as simply as I see it:
A) The majority of Jewish voters vote for Democrats.
B) The majority of Democrat politicians support/defend Islam and Islamic causes.
C) The majority of Muslims support absolutely nothing Democrats stand for (Freedom of speech, abortion on demand, homosexual rights, stem cell research, rights of women, etc.) and would like to see every Jew exterminated.

There can be no peace with Islam. Islam is the enemy.

Jan 2, 2009 - 9:20 pm 24. Vinny F.:

This type of thing never happened before Bush. Because Bush has set an example for Israel, and we know all too well of what Bush has caused, Americans from all walks of life are tired of Bush and Israel’s plan to kill as many Muslims as they can. I am sure just as Bush was behind 9/11, Israel bombed themselves in order to justify their latest savage acts against Palestinians.

And let’s not ignore the timing of Israel’s actions, during the last days of Bush, because they know Obama is on the side of righteousness and will not stand for the continuation of Israel’s murderous ways.

Jan 2, 2009 - 9:24 pm 25. SamIam:

These filthy leftists and Islamists are the mortal enemies of America, Israel, and the entire West. They should all be given the boot from our nations. If it takes a series of civil wars to accomplish this, so be it. It’s a matter of self-preservation.

Jan 2, 2009 - 9:25 pm 26. JM Hanes:

Folks need to be taking their video cameras to every single one of these protests, posting clips on the web and sending out copies to every news outfit they can think of.

There must be more the rest of us can do? How do we find out what that might be?

Jan 2, 2009 - 9:26 pm 27. anon:

Hitler and the Nazis succeeded because civilized Germans didn’t know how to deal with them, so they tried to ignore it all until it was too late.

We’re where they were in 1930.

How far are we willing to go to stop this, as “normal” law enforcement or civilized behavior clearly can’t cope or stop it. With the media taking their side, their story will continued to be glorified and exhalted and the truth of their violence will be plastered over and hidden. And one fine morning, apethetic Americans will wake up as dhimmis instead as free Americans.

You see, the far left and the islamofascists rely upon the rest of us behaving as normal civilized people under the law while they “act up” while self-rightously justifying their behavior as part of their “honest con.” That’s their strength.

To fight them, it might well require tossing out the rules, reducing us to their level. So how dirty do we want to be?

Are we willing to “sanction” assassinating radical Imams? Are we willing to approve “direct action” against CAIR? Are we willing to target them with violence as they target Jews in Isreal with bombs and gunfire? We outnumber them at least 100 to 1, meaning that they would lose badly if we applied their favorite chosen tactics against them.

But, where does that leave us as a society?

Many American Jews (those who are liberal Democrats) strongly opposed using our technology to track and neutralize domestic jihadists in a (now apparent to all but the most blinded) near suicidal hatred of Bush. Well, they suceeded emasculating the government’s ability to neutralize these neo-brownshirts. they were blinded by their “BushHate” (and that is exactly what it was) and now we all face an increasingly violent jihadist/Islamist movement here in America which are using tactics they endorsed against Bush, against YTHEM.

The Constitution is not a suicide pact, and we had all better hope the government does what is necessary to stop our local jihadists before the do to us what they are doing to Europe, or what they intend to do to Israel if they can.

And if government can’t, then either we out-muscle them on the barricades, or we have to adopt stronger measures, or we will have to stand by and witness the murder of American Jews in a new holocaust. Because that is their dearest wish after they dhimmify America.

Harsh words and concepts in a danerous situation, and hopefully something that won’t be necessary.

Jan 2, 2009 - 10:00 pm 28. Melody Caine Bier:

To Alhaji-no Arabs did not send Jews to the gas chambers…but read your own history. The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem went to Germany and met with Hitler & was excited about the idea of bringing the gas chambers to the middle east for the “final solution”. No the Palestinians (there really is NO SUCH a people…they are Arabs, no different than Jordanians)are not paying for the European sins…they are paying for the blood on their hands. If they wanted a state they could have had one in 1948…and then again in when Bill Clinton was president. They DO NOT want peace. Come to grips with that fact! Why are people not in the streets over Darfur,Rwanda,or Tibet. Why is Israel the source of all the world’s attention? Deal with the fact that it is now “chic” to be anti-semetic.The left has become an embarrassment. Explain to me how they support fascist right-wing dictatorships that oppress women & gays???

Jan 2, 2009 - 10:09 pm 31. JM Hanes:

Old grievances are irrelevant. How Jews vote is irrelevant. Whether or not Islam is a religion of peace or war is irrelevant. What has happened and is happening elsewhere in the world or in time is irrelevant. Such arguments are well tested diversions designed to inhibit defensive action.

Expecting government to regulate such demonstrations out of existence is pure escapism. There are no solutions in repression. Look at what has came of such efforts in Canada, where well intended legislation now affords protection to the provocateurs. What we are seeing is organized, purposeful hatred and it is an existential threat to all of us. The poison will only grow in strength if it is not met with organized resistance. How many times does history have to teach us that lesson?

I don’t know how or where to begin, but I know the time to start doing something is now. Can anyone suggest likely organizations to contact? Does anyone have experience and/or advice to offer on developing local networks?

Jan 2, 2009 - 10:21 pm 32. Melody Caine Bier:

To Alhaji-are you even aware that there were Jews living in the middle east for over 3000 years…long before there was such a thing known as an Arab or Islam?? There were over 800,000 Jews that were forced to leave their native lands in the middle east & north Africa between 1948 and 1967…forced out by Muslims. They had been living there before the Muslims…but as in Europe, had second class citizenship once Islam came into being. So much for your slanted & absurd view of the world and revised history. If Israel is so racist, why is the majority of Jews who live there of middle eastern & north African descent? Are you aware that is was the North African Muslims who sold the sub-Saharan Africans into slavery??You should really study your history before you shoot your mouth off!!!

To the African American Muslim, I am an African American Jewish woman in Virginia. The Prophet took a lot of the Jewish and Christian Scriptures in his formulating of tne Koran. Now you know what is being preached in their sacred places. Scary!

However, when I listened to the deranged hate all liberals and Jews of my acquaintance expressed for Palin I understood that they hated people of my background, which is much like that of Palin.

I listened to 8 years of hate towards Bush and the increasing intolerance of American Jewry towards my mild conservatism. I found the surest way to find out if a stranger was Jew was to make the mistake of saying “Merry Christmas.”

God bless and keep the Jews, but their fight is no longer my fight.

Jan 2, 2009 - 11:57 pm 36. Michael Lonie:

Alhaji Abdul Rahman,
The Israelis left Gaza in 2005. Ever since Hamas and other jihadists have shot rockets at Israel towns aimed at civilians. They haven’t killed more of them only because they do not make or import rockets that are sophisticated enough to be accurate. For three years Hamas shot rockets at Israel. For many years Hamas has waged war on Israel, and a war of terrorism that targets civilians at that. Hamas aspires to the genocide of the Jews. Hamas wanted war, now they are getting it. You Muslims should learn to be careful what you wish for, lest you get it.

The Arabs are the real racists, Israelis are not. Indeed, Israel made a special effort, for example, to rescue black African Jews from the dreadful famine the Communists organized in Ethiopia in the early 1980s. The Arabs are the racists, and you. You blather on in the oldest racism there is, antisemitism. You parrot lies about Israel while the Arabs in the Sudan murder black Africans and capture them for slaves. You have no standing to make any charges against Israel, an apologist for racist slavers as you are.

Understand this, and understand it well, if you have the wit to do so. The jihadists like Hamas and al-Qaeda are leading you Muslims to jahiliyya. First the jihadists came to kill the Jews. Then to kill the Hindus, then the Christians, then the Buddhists. In the end they are killing Muslims too, in wholesale lots, as you could see in Algeria, Afghanistan, and Iraq if you were paying attention or had any simple honesty. Letting the jihadists lead you on the path to Hell, as you do, is incredibly stupid, and you Muslims had better wake up before you let the jihadists provoke the rest of the world into saying: “The problem is Muslims. No more Muslims, no more problem.” George Bush and the dreaded Neocons have spent the last senven and one half years trying to prevent that, which is one of the reasons I supported him. Clowns who opposed Bush and support the jihadists have been trying to grease the skids to Hell. You had better wake up before it’s too late. Turn aside from the path to jahiliyya.

If the Muslims ever do manage the genocide of the Jews, do you not think that the Muslims will be putting themselves in line for the same thing? Or do you not think? Make peace with Israel, before it is too late. If Muslims actually believed that Allah takes a hand in the affairs of the world they would look at what happened to Nazi Gerrmany as a caution against what they are trying to do to the Jews. Stop your evil before it kills you all.

Larry, you seem to believe that all liberals and those opposed to W are Jews. Well I am an Italian-American and I dislike Bush and his illconceived policies. I also think Palin is a semi-educated, self-promoting incompetent who never should have been chosen for high office by the Republican Party.

On the subject of Israel, I believe the Jewish people in Israel, along with Hindu India are on the front lines of an Islamic inspired war against everyone and everything non-Muslim. We are all in this together.

I agree. If you are going to make the effort to have 5 counter-protesters, you might as well settle for 4 counter-protesters, and have the scruffiest-looking of the 5 of you tape the whole thing with a video camera from a safe vantage(and wear a Democracy Now t-shirt or a Che t-shirt so as to not attract unwanted attention–and dont be afraid to lie about your fictional anti-Israel blog where you will be posting select bits of video).

Have a clear route of escape handy for the camera man, as the jihadist are pretty media-savvy and may consider even a “friendly” uncontrolled camera a security risk.

Jan 3, 2009 - 5:51 am 42. Tina Trent:

I try to take protestors at face value: they say they are advocating for “peace,” for the “rights of Palestinians,” and so on.

But reality intrudes. When you see the motley crew of professional reparationists, enraged adolescent Mumia worshipers, addled “revolutionary Communists” in their J-Crew pseudo-worker’s clothes, busloads of smug Muslim co-eds attending taxpayer-supported schools on our dime who are slathered with department-store make-up while screaming about raping and killing Jews (and killing Christians, and calling other women, including their own mothers whores if they fail to cover their heads) — and when you see the older generation guiding them — the aging tenure-soaked pro-Weatherman cabal, the stimulated WAND ladies who use their positions in state government to promote radicalism, the little drummer girls of Code Pink, and, as always, Cynthia McKinney, you have to understand that these people have no idea what they are talking about.

And THAT makes them truly dangerous.

Jan 3, 2009 - 6:08 am 43. Tina Trent:

Larry, I am sorry for your experience. In graduate school, I saw it too, the mau mauing by wealthy (ethnic) Jews who claimed to be black, not white, and thus felt the right to accuse white and middle-class schmoos like me of “race privilege” before they jetted off to their next post-structuralism conference, while I got ready for another shift behind the bakery counter; the well-heeled “opposition researchers” who used their social power to ruin lives with false accusations of bias (while serially suing each other for defamation on the side) — this may seem like a “Jewish” thing but it is not: it is a “radical/liberal” thing arising from a very specific political ideology promoted by Aptheker, et. al. (and disturbingly this is what Obama cut his teeth upon) — you can find conservative feminists and Zionists and centrist Democrats who abhor this ideology, particularly because of the ways it has perverted their own causes. Class is one bugbear of American political life — gender is another — Roth is a truly prejudiced pig who spews and deserves contempt; Mailer is an unspeakable infant who frivolously killed people, but Bellow is a genius of the generous and one of the three most under-rated writers of the twentieth century. Identity politics are a powerful tool, and it is almost impossible to operate outside of them. So what’s left to us is to acknowledge their power and take responsibility whenever we use them — precisely the opposite of those who claim their power first as proof of righteousness.

Yes, I’m quite certain conferring with Satan would make one more violent. Indeed, the Bible says in Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life”. Islam, in contrast to Judaism and Christianity, is a cult of death.

Jan 3, 2009 - 9:29 am 48. JohnBoy:

Good posts all (well mostly). I have a 17 year-old son, and we have been discussing lately how the liberal intellectual elite somehow lost their ability to make simple moral judgments. The question to me is when and how did this happen? Was it World War I,which destroyed Europe’s faith in God and government? Was it the 1930s when liberals swooned over Uncle Joe Stalin? Was it the confusion of the 1960s? How exactly can Western liberals make common cause with 7th century theocrats?

As a good first step, I think putting the protests on YouTube is worth a 1,000 words. Nothing condemns these idiots like their own actions.

As an aside, the Palestinian thing is really something. You don’t think that the oil-rich Arab states could have taken in these Palestinian refugees? No, they would rather use them as a stick to beat Isreal with. The more they suffer, the better it is for them. Also — what happened to all that aid? I believe that good old Yassir stole billions. Has anyone audited his widow?

We need to understand that throwing Isreal to Islam will only mean that they will set their sights on Europe next and then America. They will not rest short of world domination. As a good first step, we need to change our laws and our constitution and be much tougher minded about keeping their children out of our universities and deporting or jailing the imans inciting violence. Look at what has happened in England and the Netherlands, who have gone the PC route.

By toppling Saddam we freed Muslims who were being killed and tortured by an phony “Muslim” dictator. Now that we have won the war in Iraq, the people of Iraq are experiencing an economic rebirth and democracy- a gift from President Bush.

If Bush had wanted to just kill Muslims, we would have nuked those countries after we were attacked in New York. Bush was going for a historically benign approach for which all “peaceful” Muslims should be grateful.

Just as in the 1930s, today’s Jews are themselves blamed for the very violence visited upon them, and any attempt at self defence is reflexively described as an assault, which justifies further violence against Jews. The stage is thus set for ever more viscious attacks against Jews. I think the time has come for decent folk of every faith to don the Jewish star, as did Danish Christians when all Danish Jews were ordered by the Nazi occupation forces to display the star upon their persons.

These pro Hamas protests are scary. They are now actively trying to bring Gaza, and the jihad, to the rest of the world. 2009 looks as if it’s going to be an all too interesting year.

To Larry and all the others, who think this is Israel’s fight, and they can just sit this one out—sorry, it’s everybody’s fight. The jihad is worldwide. We can’t say, “Oh, well, Mumbai’s an Indian thing! I don’t care what happens there!” “I don’t like this or that group targeted by Islam, so I don’t consider their fight my fight.” (Do you seriously think the Islamists will be more on your side, than, say, your liberal Jewish acquaintances, or whatever other group you disapprove of? Dream on, friends, dream on!) “Oh well, it’s Russia’s problem.” “It’s Serbia’s problem.” “I don’t like Hindus, so there fight isn’t my fight.” Sorry, chummers, that’s not an attitude we can afford anymore.

Jan 3, 2009 - 11:51 pm 62. Brian:

This is one of the reasons why the Left will eventually collapse.Hollowed out by violent, radical, hate filled ideas. The global battle is shaping up between the freedom loving West and tyrannical radical Islam.

Jan 4, 2009 - 12:31 am 63. TalkinKamel:

Anna D., you wrote that, since American Jews voted for Obama, (all of them? Every last, single Jew in America voted for Obama?) they obviously didn’t care about Israel, so why should you, personally, “give a hoot?” That sounds to me like you don’t care about Israel, or, at least, your “caring” depends solely upon who American Jews vote for, not what’s actually going on in Israel—and the rest of the world—at the moment.

I apologize for any deficiencies in my reading, but you might want to double-check your own writing skills, if you don’t want others to misinterpret you.

Jan 4, 2009 - 8:35 am 64. Beth:

Being one of the few Jews who did NOT vote for Obama, I share the frustration with some of the comments here. The best explanation I have heard to date for this phenomenon is that most American Jews are not religous (God fearing)and therefore politics has become their religion. Therefore it is best to think of these Jews as faithful minions of the religion of “Liberalism.”

After I saw the videos I remembered Obama and his minions throughout the campaign called for “revolutions.” These protests may have been our first examples of the Saul Alinsky style activism that are things to come. Obama doesn’t need to individaully activate these groups (ANSWER) because they already know what to do and now they just have to implement their intimidation tactics against their foes. How long do you think tactics like the Palestinians’ and their other activist intimidators will take to shut down peaceful demonstrators?
Remember, for evil to prevail all that is necessary is for good people to do nothing. It may be what they are counting on.

Is it my imagination or is this round of anti-Israel protests in the US much better and much more quickly organized than ever before?

Jan 4, 2009 - 2:48 pm 67. TalkinKamel:

No, joeblough, I don’t think it’s just your imagination. The US anti-Israel protests, as well the ones happening in other parts of the world, do seem better organized than before. The participants also seem much more belligerent, and willing to attack any counter-protesters, and be much more open about about their hatred for Jews, America and the West in general.

And I think all these protests came about far too rapidly to be simply some grass-roots, “spontaneous” movement. Somebody planned them, and somebody’s money is sponsoring them. My opinion is that Mumbai was just the start of a push to bring the jihad out in the open, and spread it worldwide. (Please note: no Jews, except the unfortunates living at that Chabad house, were involved in Mumbai).

2009 looks like it’s gonna be a real interesting year. It’s everybody’s war, now. (As it was all along, of course). How long do you think these anti-Israel “protests” are going to remain peaceful? Anybody want to make a bet? None of us are going to be able to sit this one out.

Jan 4, 2009 - 4:39 pm 68. TalkinKamel:

Sorry, my comment above should have been addressed to Huxley, not joeblough (liked your comment, though, joe).

These “protests” are obviously well-organized and well-funded, and I think it’s just a matter of time before they turn into actual attacks against, say, Israeli embassies, police, synagogues, churches, etc.—with the perpetrators screaming all the while that they’re being victimized, of course.

2009 looks like it’s gonna be an interesting year.

Jan 4, 2009 - 4:41 pm 69. TalkinKamel:

Beth, I’m afraid it’s not going to take too long to shut down any counter-protesters. What next? Attacks against bookstores, or news stands maybe, for carrying “anti-Islamic” material? Libraries? Or maybe people are going to be targeted for reading Jewish writers, such as Roth, Mailer and Bellow? (Take note, those of you who think you can just sit this one out); are Indian temples in the US going to be attacked? Churches? Synagogues? Are vigilante groups going to attack prominent Jewish groups (as in Mumbai) or pro-Israel politicians?

This whole thing is getting altogether too interesting. Happy 2009!

Because you’re supporting Israel who is under fire from Fascists(and there are many other folks there, not only Jews, but all Israeli), not the American airheads who happen to be Jews. Being a Jew doesn’t make one an instant expert on Israel at all!

Besides that, Israel is not attacking Gazans, but liberating them from a regime that is sheer evil, along Saddam Hussein lines morals, just lacking the ability, but not the will for tyranny and genocide. They just made sharia the law in Gaza, and they run a repressive regime that makes Mugabe look moderate in comparison. And asking questions about how “spontaneous” these rallies might be, and if they’re being organized, and funded, by outside sources, isn’t calling for banning ordinary street protests (which these might not be); it’s just common sense. Or are we just supposed to shut up, and accept, unquestioningly, whatever a bunch of marching protesters tell us, and never question, or even think about, possible motives behind them? because Israel is a country whose contributions to world science, technology, literature and the arts is much greater in proportion to its size, population, and resources than any other country in the world. Now, how many of the above things are true about any of Israel’s immediate neighbors?

OK, I’ve made ONE of my points, now let me make another one:

“Palestine,” an historical fiction, is a depraved society, where not only is virtually nothing of value produced, but which is dominated by fear and corruption, which is intensified in Gaza. Also, “palestine” (it should always be lower case and enclosed in “scare quotes”) suffers from horrendous social pathologies, including, according to numerous accounts, widespread child rape, especially by “uncles.” I have heard personal accounts by Palestinian women about the most unpleasant aspect of their pre-pubescent childhood: being preyed upon by adult male relatives.

So, stack the two societies against each other, and tell me which is worthy of preservation and emulation?
