Woman’s Inhumanity to Woman, Jihadic Style. President Obama, Please Read This.

While I was enjoying some sunshine in Savannah, (more to come about that), World War Four continued to rage blithely on.

Al-Qaeda in Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and North Africa, threatened terrorist attacks against Germany and Holland and threatened to kill a British hostage (captured on the border between Niger and Mali), if Britain does not release a radical Muslim preacher.

The Pakistani Taliban shot a couple dead for alleged adultery and their execution in Islamabad was captured on a cellphone; Egyptian police arrested a Muslim woman for having married a Coptic Christian; in Lahore, a Muslim husband killed his wife for failing to bear a son; in the Punjab, a Sikh physician-husband amputated his wife’s hand and that of her cousin with whom he suspected she was having an affair.

So much for male terrorists in foreign lands.

Last week, as I carefully smelled the roses in Georgia, there were three carefully organized explosions on one day in Iraq, which killed a total of 80 civilians. One explosion was carried out by a woman in a black abaya, holding a 5 year-old child’s hand, (probably not her own). She killed herself and 28 other Muslims in a crowded market in a Baghdad slum. The civilians, many of whom were other women, were waiting on line for free flour, cooking oil, tea, macaroni, and other staples that the police were handing out. Of course, police officers died as well.

Many people have written to me, surprised, outraged, perhaps demoralized by the fact that this latest Muslim-on-Muslim atrocity was committed by a woman and mainly against other women.

As the author of Woman’s Inhumanity to Woman, which is just now being released in a new edition with a new Introduction, I am, unfortunately, not surprised. Please recall how quickly the mainstream media covered the “sensational” use of rape by the male members of Al-Qaeda as a way to recruit female human bombs. At the time, people seemed surprised by the fact that Samira Jassim, an Iraqi woman, played an essential role in the further exploitation of these rape victims.

Although women depend upon each other for emotional intimacy and social stability, they are also highly competitive with, mistrustful of, or hostile towards other women. Like men, women have also internalized sexist beliefs. Are women really sexists? Of course they are. A study of 15,000 people in nineteen countries on five continents found that women hold sexist views just as men do. However, some studies suggest that women with low self-esteem are more likely to internalize negative views of women which may account for how such women treat other women: With cruelty rather than kindness.

In the 1930s, Germany, the land that gave us classical music and higher education, went crazy. It was possessed by anti-Semitism, the most powerful political force that has ever existed. Nobody knows why anti-Semitism has the power to drive a country crazy, but that is what happened. Germany turned against its Jews, who were disporportionately musicians and academics. It drove out its atomic scientists, even though it was planning for a war in which atomic weapons were lilely to be used.

Islam has gone crazy. It too is possessed by anti-Semitism. It refuses to accept a Palestinian state because such a state would coexist with Israel and thus implicitly recognize Israel’s right to live. Once one is insane, everything goes crazy. The need to kill Jews is very strong. Since in most parts of the Islamic world there are no Jews, one kills whoever there is. It doesn’t matter that the people one kills are also likely to hate Jews–assuming they are old enough to have heard of Jews. If you’ve got to kill, you’ve got to kill.

The insanity has affected both men and women. Killing is what is important. The killing serves no purpose whatsoever. It is utterly selfless. The whole world loves Islam because of its selflessness.

We don’t understand what is going on because it is hard to imagine how crazy Islam has become. We can’t figure out why anti-Semitism is so powerful and therefore we don’t see its power. If we are sane, we can’t comprehend craziness.

Well, at least one child bride in Saudi Arabia was saved. Married by contract to a 50 year old man, she was 8. The outcry from the Women’s movement and her mother (Saudi) the UNICEF and her lawyer managed to get her divorced. Ms. Chesler where do we sign up to help them? Please find out and let us know.

George, please allow me a few comments.

1) Anti-Semitism in Germany goes back several centuries. The problem in 1933 was the phenomenon known as Adolf Hitler. Without him the Shoa would not have occurred. Evil mass movements like the Nazi require a pivot of hate to stir the pot, and then keep on stirring endlessly, thus Hitler once said that if the Jew was not available, they would have to invent it. Interestingly enough, a delegation of Imperial Japan visited Germany after Hitler took power, in order to learn how to propel a Nazi-like movement in Japan. After a while, they recognized that it was impossible because they did not have Jews there, nor any other minority that could replace the Jew.

2) Islam has not gone crazy, it was always crazy. It happens that as the world outside changed and progressed, Islam does not. In the past, during the crusades and after, and until recently, the differences were not as stark as today. The one who put together the Islamic charade, after being in the cave and taking a Taxi on top of the Heavenly Horse Harak to Jerusalem wrote the guidelines, just look closer to some of the Suras, and let me know. I wonder if Hashish had anything to do with it.

3) Islam and the Jihadist not only hate the Jews, for…what about 9/11 in America? Don’t they proclaim daily in Iran that America is the great Satan? Arafat rejected that tremendous offer by Ehud Barak, and started an intifada, their ultimate aim is to destroy Israel, with as many Jews inside as they can get.

4) Things will go back on track when Israel one day, just one day, send Wotan the Berserker on a visit to Iran or another of the loony tunes countries.

I enjoy Chesler’s writings, so full of brave words. I bought her book, “The New Anti-Semitism” in London before departing for Singapore. (Hey the movies on planes are often crap.) It is so passionate – and I felt encouraged knowing that an emerita professor of psychology and women’s studies was actually standing up for women. Chesler is a real asset to this site!

I have long been of the opinion-even before female jihadis started blowing themselves up-that many feminists use their bully pulpits to humiliate, and not to empower other women.

It is not for nothing that these aggressive women only embrace women who follow their dictatorial, multicultural leads. In other words, female empowerment is only legitimate if it helps toe the party line of radical leftism.Other women can just as easily go to hell-literally-as far as they are concerned. While the feminist movement surely had in its original intent a message of true empowerment, surely anyone with eyes in their heads knows this has for long not been the case.

This is precisely why many US leading feminists and their cohorts, in other so called civilized venues, are incapable of mustering outrage when Muslim mommies groom their kids to become human bombs.

In fact, in PA (barbaric) society and elsewhere in the Muslim world, to give birth to as many shahids as possible is their maternal goal.

I think that what your article points out; woman’s inhumanity to woman is key and must be recognized. It seems that the taliban and their ilk also know, that in order to control the population, they must first control woman, after follows the quick demise of the rest of the population. Too often women are the perpetrators of evil and it is vital that we acknowledge this sad fact.

To the sophisticated, these people probably seem primitive, but in reality they are very clever and cunning, after all, this method has allowed them to control one-fourth of the world for centuries and there are officially 57 Islamic countries and counting.

Unfortunately, Islam fits very nicely with this method of control and power and rarely are people able to escape it without the help of other countries and at a very high cost. It is tragic, and the world should not longer allow their elected officials to excuse it under the cover of the word “custom”.

the belief system of these women is the same as the men. i have no sympathy for them. only for those who attempt to lead them out of their cesspool into clean, fresh air. those are the real martyrs. so far, i only know of one and she made it to the united states to write and speak and try to inform us. i agree with #8. however, instead of “purging” ones “shame” by becoming a human bomb in a radica mosque, any mosque will suffice. it’s all crap.

Nowhere in the article does Ms. Chesler state that Sikh’s were Muslim. Here’s the only reference to Sikhs:

Maybe this is an isolated case, I don’t know. But there is no assertion made here that the physician or any other Sikh is a Muslim.

One of the most compelling and, to me, undebatable arguments against Islamism and Sharia is precisely a women’s rights argument (not that there aren’t many other good ones). It’s been incredibly depressing to see Western women of influence turn a blind eye turned on the horrific plight of many women and girls across the Muslim world. There are exceptions, but far too few. Sharia imposes slavery on an entire gender, and our reaction to it should be no less revulsive.

The more power women have in the outside world – in their own right, not through men – the better they treat other women. But if men’s approval is your livelihood – and for Muslim women it can be a matter of life or death – then other women are threats, and friendship and love between women cannot flourish.

Islam is an extreme example of a patriarchal culture, so it is not surprising that Muslim women inform on other women, even if, as described in Phyllis Chesler’s book, this results in “honour” killing.

There is no sisterhood in Islam, as I explain here.

However, Sikhs, although in lesser degree than Muslims, are known to conduct honor killings, and this may be a variation of it. As for the originality of that religion, Sikhism was an intent to synthesize Hinduism and Islam, with a martial twist.

Could it not be that being the victims of abuse warps the morality sense within the victim, making the victim dangerous, not to the actual oppressor, but for others instead?
A sort of tendency for displaced aggression, if you like.

Another, equally pernicious myth is that somehow, being a victim should automatically increase his or hers solidarity with other victims.

While this may be true for DE-victimized individuals (trying to prevent others from experiencing what oneself has managed to get out of), it does NOT follow that a person in the midst of victimhood should feel much solidarity with others.

Why should not, say, a glee at others’ misfortune be common within the victim?
The need to feel stronger than at least one other person(and thereby exult at the tragedies of other peoples) ought to more acute within a victim than in a non-victim.

I can’t help but agree.

The equality for women’s movement is gaining momentum albeit slowing. Fundamental Islam is so depressing, so destructive to humanity the same way Christianity became so full of death and destruction. The difference between both is Christianity’s period of enlightenment. Islam is yet to get even close. Brainwashing from birth works wonders in creating the monsters of tomorrow.
