The United States is not a Muslim country unless we nullify the United States Constitution and its amendments; unless we nullify the right (or make it a fearful task) to vote; or unless we surrender to the President, with a compliant Congress and Supreme Court, the power to rule by fiat. There is no freedom of speech in Muslim countries, no freedom of religion; no free press; no right to petition Congress; no right to trial by a jury of one's peers; no equality under the law. Is that what we want? If so stupidity reigns.

Becky, #101: so what you are saying is that the house always wins.

Not quite. More like "just because some bets are better than others doesn't mean the better bets are anything close to sure winners." Rall thought Obama was a better bet than McCain. In terms of political agreeability, he was probably right about that. But even good bets can be losers. That's why they're called bets.

Joshua,
so what you are saying is that the house always wins. Sigh. I guess We The People are no longer the owners of the House and are now just the suckers to be sucked dry. On what date should the history books mark our transition from a Republic to a Casino?

A lot of Americans (myself included) didn't care much for John McCain but held their noses and voted for him anyway because there was at least a slim chance of him governing conservatively, as opposed to zero chance with Obama.

Seems to me Ted Rall took the same approach, but from the opposite direction. He really didn't know just how Obama would govern, but he believed there was at least a chance it would be in a manner to Rall's liking. With McCain, aka "Bush's third term", zero chance.

Of course, for him to now complain that Obama hasn't lived up to his expectations is like buying a Powerball ticket, then complaining about not winning just because you had a non-zero (however tiny) chance of winning by buying the ticket, as opposed to zero chance by not buying it.

Think of it this way. Regardless of which side Rall is coming FROM, we all are meeting in the same spot. The fact that Obama is a Marxist/Fascist intent on destroying this nation through his concerted efforts to destroy EVERYTHING that has made America great.

Ted Rall may be a cartoonist who claimed to be a humorist/satirist. I looked at his cartoon pieces some years ago and these are not even funny. There's no hint of satire or irony in them. He should consider himself as a snarkist of the lowest order: all sass, no class.

Myth Busters;
 How is Obama going to add a Value Added Tax without hearing the screams from his own minions of " It's unfair to the poor!!". Or will "the poor" have a "get out of tax" free card with them, like a handicapped parking sticker?

" The heck with the key to the city- what I really want is a handicapped parking sticker!"- unknown
