Don’t know anybody who likes Steinhöfel in Germany. Sorry, his opinion is not of interest in this country.

“Rational ignorance” is right. I am a German who doesn´t like Obama but I am definitely in the minority. I have compared the German love for Obama with their love for the Dalai Lama – “great guy, as long as he demands nothing of us”.

Many editorials over here are already pointing out that Obama may be more protectionist, beholden to special interests, may ask for more NATO troops effort in Afghanistan and the biggest crime of all: put America´s interest first (if only I could believe that). In other words: “don´t get too enthusiastic, in the end he´s just an American – and we don´t like them”

Steinhöfel, by the way, is not a journalist. He is a somewhat infamous lawyer. We seem to read the same blogs. Well, it is good to know that I am not completely alone.

I just re-read what I stated and realize I misstated something. I meant to say that the half which wants Obama contains 95% of the black vote, the MSM and its proponents, etc. These are very solidly, even religiously, Obamessiah followers.

I have seen seveal reputable polls (within the last several days) which show them as statistically tied, except for liberal polls which show Messiah 8 points or so ahead. And Miniter never said Bild represented or conducted a poll which showed them as tied anyway–that bit was Miniter’s own information, and he’s right.

Perhaps in the summer passion Messiah and Maverick are tied, but the half that loves Messiah is like autommatons. They are completely brainwashed, and that half is 95% black, the media and its proponents, and all the other ultra-Libs you can find. That’s hardly a crowd that can be flipped to McCain. That’s what upsets m whenever McCain starts babbling about global warming and their other sacred cows. I don’t think he gets it either.
