Of course you leave out a couple of things when you discuss the race issue. For example numerous Republican Congressmen have praised Obama's leadership in the Senate and a couple have said there is no doubt about his ability to handle the Presidency. Richard Lugar has talked about his leadership on the issue of nuclear arms proliferation. None of this gets attention. But when John Edwards ran for President with a lot less experience than Obama, no one questioned his readiness to handle the office. When Ronald Reagan ran for President in 1968, no one questioned his experience and in fact several of John McCain's staffers brag about that being the campaign that got them interested in politics. Barack Obama had more of a background than Reagan did. So why does the issue come up? Judge for yourself.

Well, it's a gimme that nobody who's very smart and very well informed about what's been going on in this country and the world at large the past several years is going to vote for another Republican as president. Unfortunately for Obama, this represents a very small demographic. The vast bulk of potential voters, thanks to an ever increasingly timid, lazy, corporate MSM and a hyperbiased blogosphere, are very hazy and confused about what's what. As demonstrated by the comments here, you end up with regurgitated nonsense that amounts to no more than substituting random idiotic bits and phrases from their favorite not-quite-news outlet or blog for real opinion and thinking.

As H.L. Mencken once wrote: "No one in this world has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby."

(The last bit kind of explains why Bush is still around.)

Using race as a shield is nothing more than a cheap excuse. I come from a black father and a white mother and race has nothing to do in this election. it's a factor but not the desicive factor. the main factor here is the fact that Barrack Obama never lets you see what he stand for. If Obama would had served in the military or some executive from a big company we would know where he stands on things. But he came out of nowhere and now that people are getting to know him they don't like what they are seeing. We know where McCain is on issues, we know where he stand and most importantly we know that he has and will defend this country from enemies abroad and in here. Obama on the other hand, has a questionable list of "friends". Hater preachers, unrepentant terrorist now working on college (scary stuff), you really have to wonder what's he's thinking.

I guess Jefferson doesn't fit the bill of the smart, articulate African-American that potential VP-candidate Joe Biden spoke of.

George Clarke:
He got there only because of the anti-Clinton factor.)
You nailed that one!

Voting for Obama to keep Bill Clintoon from ever sleeping/snooping in the White House is the greatest vote I have ever cast. Why Hillary didn’t divorce him is beyond me?
But-
After finding out Obama snubbed American wounded troop and wants me to pay higher oil prices. I think, what a liberal Moron!
I will never vote for him twice.

McCain pisses me off, but at least he is not trying to piss on me.
