I'm thinking that the real hypicrits here are the dems They are the ones that claim enviromentalism while they use more energy in their one house than 20 average american homes... What happened to the American spirit where you dreamed of being a success and IF you got wealth you were living the american dream? I would think that Democraps should embrace that..(fat chance) after all are they not supposed to be the party of the People.. cough cough.... No... wait.. they are the party that is in bed with more special intrest groups than I wish to think about.

I love the comments, new to the page... keep up the good work everyone.

Has anyone considered the cumulative cost of Biden's Acela rides - at least per annum?

Over on blogs4God, I do some math - calculating that if Biden potentially currently spends anywhere from $23k to 30k per year commuting ... imagine how many houses that would have purchased over 30 years?

"Boy, the way Glen Miller played. Songs that made the Hit Parade. Guys like us, we had it made" and yes, I'm old enough to remember the first show too.

P.S. I do enjoy your comments.

Boris,

Actually, you're right about one thing.

The idea that Al Gore invented the internet dogged Gore throughout his Presidential campaign. And, to your point, it was something Gore never really claimed.

Of course, if Alan didn't have such a Biden-esque tendency to brag, that particular mis-characterization, in Rachel's humble opinion, wouldn't have struck such a responsive chord.

Which reminds me of another classic example of Gore braggadocio. (Sorry if I screwed up the spelling.)

This I think Gore actually claimed. To wit, that "Love Story" was based on his life.

Al's real life roommate at Harvard, actor,Tommy Lee Jones, played the role of one of Oliver Barret's roommates in the movie. And apparently, Gore knew Erich Siegel. So there seemed to be a connection.

Anyway, eight years ago, Rachel was doing a little, shall I say, favor for the Republican Party. And wrote this about Gore's contention that "Love Story" was based on his life.

As I remember, Rachel wrote something like: "Well, if Love Story was based on your life, Al, as you say, then how come Tipper is still alive?"

Sad to say, but I miss Gore running for election. Targeting Al is, well, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. Or, maybe, more like Muhammad Ali's November 22, 1965, battering of Floyd Patterson so that by the end of the fight, Floyd looked more like Carmen Basilio than himself.

Those were the days.

And speaking of, "All in the Family", who can tell me the opening line of the song that opened every show?" The winner gets a Rachelian gold star.

Let me get this straight. Four years ago, the GOP was apoplectic about Kerry having a rich wife and harped endlessly about how Theresa was a sugar momma. Now that your nominee has a rich wife, it's okay for McCain to claim ignorance about how many houses he/she own, or that his household staff budget is north of $200K/year?

This is hypocrisy of the highest order, case closed.
